  1. I have a feeling, even without the Capers and McCown hires our staff as it currently stood at the beginning of the day had more total NFL experience than Rhule's entire staff day 1. Adding these two probably doubled Rhule's coaching staff's pro experience alone.
  2. I don't think he was necessarily on the downside before the Watt hit, but his balls definitely had less zip than they did in previous seasons. I remember going to the Giants game that season and noticing on the final drive that his passes just looked like they were floating through the air more than they used to. Noticeably less velocity behind the throws, which was still manageable and Turner was getting the most out of Cam, but once the Watt hit happened he could barely throw it any longer.
  3. I don't know anything about these guys from Denver but they can't be worse than the sum of all parts last year.
  4. The rest of their team and coaching staff isn't though.
  5. Bring him in to talk trade. Hear me out: Get into a "Bidding war" to Drive up the asking price. Have the saints give up valuable draft assets for a QB over 30 with a 40 million cap hit while they're already 50 million in the red. Profit
  6. Ayyyyy good for him. Nothing but love for the guy (with a little bit of resentment for torpedoing our draft position by being competent as a leader).
  7. Defense played about the same overall, Highs were still high but the lows were waaaaaaaaaaay lower with Holcomb than with Snow. It was the inconsistency that was baffling. One week they look great, the next week they let Joe Mixon score 5 TDs.
  8. Shaq's contract was one of Hurney's last parting gifts, along with CMC's and Teddy Bridgewater's. If people are going to hate anyone in this scenario, hate the man shelling out top dollar for deemphasized positions in the modern NFL and backup QBs. Has shaq lived up to the contract he signed? Probably not. I'd say at least a pro bowl or two would have validated it. But he has still played well enough and if our teams were playoff bound he might have gotten some pro bowl love. But right now there are no FA LBers on the open market better than him available, and if they are, they'd be even MORE expensive than Shaq currently is right now. Restructure/extend 2-3 years, and run it back with one of our defensive leaders.
  9. I'm not joking about this, but the popular youtube channel Dude Perfect is trying to build an amusement facility where people would be able to mess around and play sports games or whatever. They should buy that land up. Would bring a ton of revenue to the area and honestly seems like it would be a ton of fun.
  10. This fanbase was spoiled by Mills to Morgan to Beason to TD to Luke. All pro level talent at the LB position for 20+ years, and then we get a borderline pro-bowl player in there and they want to burn it all down because it's not good enough. Shaq is worth keeping around.
  11. God I love this hire. Makes the Rhule decision 3 years ago that much more questionable. Tepper really handed the keys to his multi-billion dollar operation to a guy fresh out of Baylor and all his college buddies with zero experience between them.
  12. Apparently a lot of times the HC "Blocks" these kinds of interviews it's actually at the behest of the guy the team is requesting. Could very well be that Evero doesn't want to coach up in Minny and he's having Payton run interference.
  13. Pinning to clean up clutter. Also have said this in other threads, Nixon actually did a good job with the RBs this past season. Would not mind keeping him around.
  14. Carr would be the safest bet of any of the retread QBs potentially available this offseason, and he's better than any of the QBs we've had the past 3 years with Rhule.
  15. Shaq's biggest fault was not being as good as the two LBers we had before him in Luke and TD. Dude is a good LBer. He's not Elite, but he is a good 3 down LBer. I don't see who we could replace him with and be happy with the production drop off from a cost perspective.
  16. Being disappointed that Wilks didn't get the job, and thinking they hired the wrong head coach are not the same thing.
  17. Guys, can we please just collectively get over Dan Arnold? Dude was a JAG at best, had 7 catches through 3 games with us, no touchdowns, and blew his knee out after we traded him. We were really hurting for his *checks stats* 9 receptions for the Jags this past season. Is CJ Henderson good? Not particularly, but we've gotten more miles out of him than the Jags have out of Arnold. The Darnold to Arnold connection was a media/fan construct for lulz, not based on actual production.
  18. I say we make a pact with the rest of the NFCS to just roll with who we all respectively have at QB for next season. First 6-11 Division winner ever. It'll be so much fun.
  19. Just do a search for his proper name: James Robert Vagina
