Adam Shefter on Pat McAfee show (From Monday)
Ricky Spanish replied to Jmac's topic in Carolina Panthers
He was honestly patient with Ron and Hurney too. They stayed onboard longer than many of us as fans expected. I don't see how he has been impatient so far. -
IMO, the best thing for the team and Bryce as our QB moving forward is to pull a Jags last year or Dolphins 2 years ago, fire the coach and bring in a new staff. Pending an all time run to end the season, Reich and company should not be back next season.

Can someone give me a summary of what's going on with Michigan? I don't follow college football but heard something about them sending guys in disguise to opposing team games to steal signs or something?

Dear Dave "Long term Mediocrity will not be tolerated" Tepper, Remember that quote? We do. Since you have taken over as owner of this franchise the Panthers have the worst record in the NFL. Since you have taken over our once "Mediocre" Franchise who appeared in two Super Bowls has turned into the laughing stock of the NFL. Excluding Urban Meyer, every coach hired in the NFL by other teams has a better win % than the ones you have hired in the same timeframe. We hold the worst record in the NFL this season, and we don't even have a first round pick next year to show for the effort. At this point in time, mediocrity would be an exponential improvement to what we have been witnessing. It's not that we don't think you're trying. It's obvious you are. You tried to build a practice facility in Rock Hill. You tried to hire the hot up and coming college coach who was going to change the way the NFL runs with his "analytics" and other buzzwords. You tried to trade for a(n alleged) sex offender last offseason to try and right the ship at QB. You brought music to the Carolinas after all, since we dumb hicks never heard of live music before you graced BofA with artificial turf and concerts. You tried to tap into the nostalgia of the "good ol' days" with your hire of Frank Reich this offseason. You're trying REALLY hard Dave, we can tell. But it's time to stop. You're out of your depth here. You understand finances, you understand hedge funds and markets and rich people stuff, but you don't understand how to run a football team. You don't understand how to make the Panthers a good team. It's time Dave. Know that now is the time to step away from making the football decisions. Hire a director of football operations to make those moves. Handle the business stuff and let someone else do the football stuff while you chill in your office next to your comically large anatomically correct brass testicles that sit on your desk. Ever heard the old adage "If it smells like crap everywhere you walk, check your own shoes"? It's time to check your own shoes Dave.

It has to be the scheme. 4/5 of these guys were starting for us last season and doing a damn good job of it by year's end. Not just run blocking, pass blocking as well. Whatever this scheme is, our line is the square peg in it's round hole. It's bad football not worth watching.

Bryce defenders, please give me a reason why you're still hopeful
Ricky Spanish replied to TN05's topic in Carolina Panthers
It's his rookie year, he throws guys open and with anticipation often, he's tough for such a little fella, and he isn't the only thing that looks bad about our offense considering the line can't block, the running game is non-existent, the WRs can't get open and the scheme we are running is doing nothing to account for all of the above mentioned issues. I'd have more confidence in Bryce's future if we cleaned house and hired a young up and coming offensive mind (like Ben Johnson from Det or someone similar) and fired Fitt, but if we keep this staff and that FO together after this season then I will have zero expectations that things will get better.- 80 replies

This is the Charles Johnson saga 2.0.

Doesn't matter, Bosa got 34 million, cap goes up every year, we held onto him over getting picks in return, there's no way he isn't demanding 30+. He has all the leverage.
-
Should have just paid him in the offseason before Bosa got paid. Could have had him in the 25ish million range. He's probably expecting at least 30 now.

Every Bad team. Good teams draft good players or at least halfway decent ones. The guys we've been drafting haven't even been replacement level good.

The Athletic looks at Reich vs the Colts
Ricky Spanish replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Reich is a good dude. I don't hate him, I'm just disappointed at the product he has put on the field so far. I'm also at the point where I'd rather cut bait and start again rather than watch the team flounder around doing nothing. -
Look at that guys, we fixed it by working together and the thread didn't devolve into a pissing contest or argument. I'm proud of us all.

Looks like 'Share via' gives you the 'x' link instead of twitter link.
-
I THINK the way you share from the app is by going to the post itself instead of sharing from the timeline. Sharing from the timeline gives you an 'x' link, whereas sharing from the post itself gives you a 'twitter' link. I don't have the app but it's what a friend of mine told me he had to do on discord.
-
Pretty sure the x posters are getting them from the app, whereas I am copying and pasting from a PC.

Embedding works, you just have to be patient. Make sure you wait for the tweet to load before you hit submit: Wait for it... Give the Hamsters a chance to spin up. To share a link from the twitter app itself, go to the post itself instead of sharing from the timeline. Sharing from the timeline gives you an 'x' link, whereas sharing from the post itself gives you a 'twitter' link. I don't have the app but it's what a friend of mine told me he had to do on discord.

You guys are so high strung about being 100% correct, all or nothing about who made the playbook. I think Brown created it insofar as he took a look at Reich's plays, took a look at McVay's plays, picked which ones were most similar schematically, then took plays from Reich's book that were unique, then took plays from McVay's book that were unique and then tailored the plays from McVay to fit a scheme similar to what Reich had run in the past. I'm sure Reich then gave it a once over and made the final tweaks since he was going to be the play caller. That's why the plays, designs, and concepts are very similar to Reich's past offenses. Even if it isn't an exact clone, it's definitely related and heavily influenced by Reich's old offenses.

Just copying and pasting, not sure why it works for some and not others.

Panthers looking at Pokemon linebacker
Ricky Spanish replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Dude, I had a first edition shadowless charizard ever since I was a kid. I got laid off at the beginning of the pandemic and sold it for a few hundred bucks to help make ends meet. It's worth thousands now. I hate myself for not holding out.
