Morgan talked about adding Dawgs to the team. Corley is a Dawg

This data may be skewed by the fact that our fans don't show up to watch the crap they put on the field every week. No fans means no fans to get drunk.

I think people are trying to come up with a narrative when they just got beat by the current best player in the NFL, and Chris Jones was also a disruptive force up the middle all night long, blew up multiple potential big plays throughout the game. CMC had 30 touches and 155 yards. He only had 3.6 yards per carry, but they were feeding him. They should have run it more opening the second half, but that is the only criticism I have, but that adds maybe 3 more rushes and gives CMC 165 total yards. They still moved up and down the field well enough, you just can't fumble in FG range (CMC) and then turn the ball over on special teams and give Mahomes a short field. The biggest gaff was the bad luck punt off the blocker that gave the Chiefs the ball back. They didn't choke away some huge lead, they were up 10 in the second quarter and the Chiefs scored a fG before the half. It was not some insurmountable lead, the game was well within grasp for both teams at halftime, the Chiefs just made fewer mistakes and Mahomes went goblin mode calling his own number multiple times on the last drive. Don't read too much into it. It was a great game all around - and well officiated too, which is a severe rarity these days.

Annual reminder that Panthers drafted this guy and then lost him

We don't learn, that's why we re-hired Hurney who was the one who let Butker go. -

NFL Honors: Panthers front and center
Ricky Spanish replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
It was still a better season than any one QB had this year. Can't tell me Lamar or Purdy was better than CMC this season. -

There was. It was CMC but the MVP is a QB award now so he didn't get it. -

Looks like we get to keep Ejiro Evero!

Defense held opponents to under the league average of 21.8 pts in 9 games last year (Bryce had 2 pick 6's in the Colts game, the offense only scored 13 points). If we had a league average offense, we win a handful more of those games at the least. Based on the switch to 3-4, all of the injuries, and the meh talent throughout the roster, the Defense did admirably. Although I do understand the perspective that while they were the shiniest turd in the dog park, they were still a turd - there is reason to be optimistic about the defense moving forward, especially if we can lock up Brown and Re-sign Luvu. Really is a glass half full half empty kind of a deal. -
Stop thinking about it as a tepper move and as a dave canales move. Canales has done nothing to hurt us (Internally) yet.

Why carolina can not* afford to lose Burns
Ricky Spanish replied to micnificent28's topic in Carolina Panthers
I was all for keeping Burns but that was under the impression he was going to be extended. We didn't give him a contract, he asked for more money, then his play dipped. Tag and trade him. Potentially to Cincy in a player for player swap with Tee higgins if they want to tag and trade as well. -
I personally will have way more patience for a first time HC than I ever would for a re-tread. I also don't anticipate we look particularly great this coming season. Talent just isn't on the roster, Fitterer left the cupboard bare. This is at least a 3 year rebuild. Best we can hope for is we are the lions and every game we are fighting tooth and nail to win and the team never gives up like the lions never did for Campbell.

Tony Pauline: Campen was Tepper's "eyes and ears"
Ricky Spanish replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Come on though... Who among us wouldn't pocket a few extra million to narc on our colleagues? "Sorry dave, haven't heard anything lately..." *Holds out empty palm "Reich isn't running any RPO and refusing to adjust his scheme, Thomas Brown's wife hates it here, the locker room is calling Miles "Inches" Sanders, and Icky says he has blackmail on you so he has to stay at LT" -
There is no reason to spend even more draft capital or money on ANOTHER QB when we are not 1 QB away from being competitive. We stick with Young one more year. Also, I don't think he's as much of a lost cause as you seem to. His decision-making is not as bad as you say, he actually learned throughout the season (Case in point the 2nd Falcons game where he bated Bates on numerous throws so he wouldn't get picked again) and his escapability got better as the season went on and he got used to the game speed of the NFL. The line played like crap, receivers played like crap, the scheme was crap, no one looked good. It's a big fat N/A for damn near everyone on offense, but no, the backup plan should be the backup QB, which is Dalton, who is a damn good backup and we don't need to waste more assets on another. If Young shows no improvement next season then we move on and draft a new QB in 2025.

I hope we don't get another Richard Rodgers. Tabor was a good ST coach

Yeah but you're not writing dissertations. There's a difference between "Meh" and "How fuging dare you, you fuging asshat making these decisions, let me list all the reasons A through 69 that I despise what you have done to the football love of my life". Low expectations are where we should ALL be right now. Getting angry about any of it right now is just not worth it.
-
You're right, I should assume that people writing dissertations about their angst towards Tepper, the franchise, and its direction are happy. What was I thinking.
-
Sidenote - I will always love and appreciate Ron even if he was incredibly frustrating at times as our HC. Good dude.

I admire those that still care enough about this team to do so. I pity them too, but admire the spirit and commitment to being miserable nonetheless.

Ironically enough, Carolina might be the more secure job spot atm. Eberflus is definitely on the hot seat next year and if they suck he gets the axe and then everyone's jobs are in question. Canales is getting at least 2 or 3 years to establish something here.
