Most definitely. I think there would need to be multiple sheets most likely with some references to the salary cap on any given year. It would still be super fun to play with.

OK, this is great, super insightful information, HOWEVER I have a few questions and a few tweaks that I would recommend that might improve the data integrity. Also, I would absolutely love to deep dive into this if you have the data available: I think a hard number of 8 mil/year is not necessarily the best way to go in terms of determining if paying a RB is good or bad for the team. The cap in 2012 was different in 2020 and paying a RB 8 million today isn't nearly as bad as paying one 8 million even 5 years ago. Instead, at what percentage of overall cap used does the investment into RB become detrimental to the overall record of a team? Truth be told, I would love to see the overall cap percentage correlations between winning and losing franchise for all positions (QB, WR, RB, TE, C, G, T, CB, LB, Pass Rusher, S, DT, K, P, LS). At what percentage of the cap allocated to a WR do you start hurting the other areas of the team? At what percentage of a combo of QB and WR does it start hurting the team? etc. etc. Like I said, if you have the overall salary of the players, the team's record, and an individual player's stats broken down by year, I would love to dive in and see what the data says in terms of where the best teams allocate their resources. @kungfoodude

I really don't see us dropping Paradis. Dude looked better in year 2 compared to year 1. Like @*FreeFua* said above, we can't go into next season replacing 4/5 linemen. We're in trouble enough as it is with Moton's uncertainty, no left tackle, and no real starting caliber guards on the roster.

He made the plays available though... I mean your example of Mahomes coming up short in the Super Bowl is a terrible example too. Mahomes was doing everything he could, his supporting cast didn't do jack. Receivers couldn't catch after he scrambled for 20 yards behind a line anchored by Mike Remmers. Mahomes literally threw a dime parallel to the ground that hit a receiver in the head near the endzone. Seriously, go the watch BYU/Coastal game again. Game script didn't allow him to throw again until midway through the 4th quarter, due to poor defense and coaches wanting to eat up clock by running (and fumbling) and even then his receivers did him no favors dropping great passes and literally running backwards 15-20 yards on a play. Complete drive killers.

OK so there is a better chance to sign Curtis than I thought at the beginning of the offseason. Here's why: Overall Salary cap is most likely not as high as originally anticipated The WR FA market looks to be oversaturated with top tier talent this offseason (Godwin, Golladay, Robinson, Corey Davis, Marvin Jones, Hilton, Juju, Antonio Brown, AND Curtis) The combination of the above two reasons COULD lead to Curtis taking a shorter 1-year deal that would allow him to cash in on FA the next offseason when the Salary Cap goes back up. I'm still only like 15/85% sure yes/no that it happens, but it's better than the 5% I originally thought.

If you re-watch the game, Wilson did not come up small, everyone else in BYU did. Wilson was throwing dimes his receivers were dropping, his line wasn't blocking, one of his receivers ran backwards 20 yards, his RB fumbled, and his defense couldn't keep Coastal's O off the field. Wilson marched the team down the field with less than a minute left, threw a strike on the best option on the last play and came up a yard short. Wilson looked fine all game.

For me at least, it's the confidence/swagger the kid has when the play breaks down and he rolls out of the pocket. He is calm and looking downfield to make the big play and you can tell he just expects whatever he's about to do to work because why wouldn't it? Then he whips it downfield on a rope in the perfect spot with awkward footing.

I really like him as a prospect and feel the same way about the mahomes vibes. I want him. I hope we trade up to get him.

My take: This happening would either be the best thing ever for this franchise, or the worst thing ever for this franchise. No in between. I don't know if we have the roster built up enough to offer what we would need to land Watson and be competitive. It very well could end up like a Saints situation with Breese 7 or so years ago, stuck in perpetual 7-9 mediocrity with no draft picks to make the team better.

If the Jets don't take him then I hope we trade up to 3 to grab him.

Still at the top of my wish list as far as rookies go.

Some guy went through PFR and charted how well each team has done at drafting based on overall Player AV (Approximate Value) and their expected AV based on where they were drafted. Trade up for Wilson at either 2 or 3, give up our first and 3rd and 1st + 3rd next year and then take rondale moore in the 2nd and I'd be ok with that.

16-17 Mill Per for 4+ years is going to be a steal in 2 years. Don't be surprised to see a Tackle break 20mill next offseason... Or hell, this offseason.
