  1. I would love a local team. I was reaaaaaaaaaaally hoping that the Rays would move up here because their stadium down in TB is a craphole and all the players were on the Durham Bulls.
  2. Yes. Interpreting the comment as if he is scared implies that the stage and spotlight are too big for him and he might not have the willpower/testicular fortitude to be a great QB in the NFL. Interpreting the comment as he got bamboozled is understandable, because at the time I believe he was the youngest QB in the league going against the GOAT coach with one of (If not the) best defenses he had ever put together. That has the potential to be fixed by watching film and working with his coaches. It's ultimately up to him to make those changes so he doesn't see ghosts anymore. I'm not sitting here and saying Sam is the answer and will be an all pro next season. I am saying there's enough tape of the kid out there to show he has what it takes to make it if he hasn't been completely broken by his previous coaching staff. He's a giant question mark next season either way, and I am really rooting for the kid to turn his career around with us.
  3. BTW, some huddlers were crapping all over Darnold for "admitting he saw ghosts" and "No pro QB should ever admit that". Those people are ignorant and don't know what that phrase means. Seeing ghosts just means he was seeing things that weren't there - as in he thought that he saw the Patriots doing one thing pre snap, and it was disguised as something else. That's all. He wasn't scared. He wasn't afraid. The Pats and their league leading defense just confused one of the youngest starting QB's in the NFL. Talking heads and ignorant people ran with it.
  4. The business side of football gets in the way of the football side of football sometimes. All time greats like Brady (one day we can hope), Montana, White, Emmett Smith, etc. all ended their careers on teams other than the ones they built their legacy on. I won't hold it against TD. His best years were spent with us and he probably should have retired that last year regardless. Either way he's a panther for life for me and I'd be thrilled if they retired 58 in his honor.
  5. Honestly by your metric 58 should be retired. TD came in to this team as a Safety, converted to LB, tore his ACL THREE times, came back better than ever, Went to the pro bowl, became a First team All Pro, won the Walter Payton man of the year award, and has become a community staple. He also dislocated his finger and popped it back into place mid play to tackle beast mode and played in the super bowl with a broken arm. TD Represents the mantra "Keep Pounding" More than anyone that has worn the jersey since Sam Mills. I personally want his jersey retired more than 89, 1, or 59.
  6. Jersey #s that should be off limits (in no particular order): 59 58 89 1 Debatable: 88 90 69
  7. @Verge did you hear anything about why he fell to the 5th?
  8. Welp... Hope he isn't a complete dumbass off the field so he can stay on it.
  9. Looking forward to the Darnold to D. Arnold connection.
  10. I got crap last year for calling him a JAG. Everyone was on his hype train. He just hadn't done anything to give me the impression he was going to be great. Tommy, I get better vibes from just watching the film. He's a more fluid athlete than Thomas and looks like an S tier blocker. Hopefully he's built from the same mold as Kittle and will start off as a great blocker and hone his receiving abilities as the years progress. The real question is will our offense ever actually utilize a TE?
  11. You crypto homies heard about SafeMoon? I picked some up. Converted the $150 total I had from Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin into Safemoon. It really wasn't doing anything in my coinbase wallet, and if safemoon pops off, that'd be super. Low risk for me personally.
  12. I have not seen the video and am missing the context.
  13. For real, Dude is legit a freak athlete. BTW for anyone interested: Cam was a 10/10 Luke was a 10/10 Chinn was a 10/10 Here's our team's entire RAS history: https://relativeathleticscores.com/2020/12/31/carolina-panthers-ras-history/
  14. Well Damn, I was erring on the side of caution because he was so bad last season. He took a GIANT step back last year. If he's not broken, there's no reason he couldn't go 3500 yards, 25 TDs and under 10 INTs next year in a system with a ton of support.
  15. My guess is his stats take a jump on par with Alex Smith his first year he had competent coaching with Harbaugh 20 TDs 13 INTs 3400 yards 61% Completion percentage. Not a jump that would put him in the pro bowl, but a big enough jump that he shows enough improvement for us to hold onto him for the future.
  16. Moore and CMC run the best routes on the team.
  17. One thing I was not thrilled about was our lack of interest in a Kicker either in the draft or as a UDFA. We are currently rostering two kickers: Joey Slye - Incumbent Kicker, Leg like a shotgun blast with roughly the same accuracy Matt Ammendola - Rookie we brought in early in the offseason from OKSU and potential IG Model if the whole kicking thing doesn't work out. The names above don't inspire the most confidence heading into the 2021 season. Slye's college FG% was 72.9%, his Pro FG% has jumped a few points up to 79.4%. Ammendola's College FG% was 76.9%. That's all we've got on him. Kicking in college tends to be more difficult than in the pros due to the wider hashes and lack of specialized balls used specifically for kicking. How confident are we in the current state of our Kickers, and should we be looking elsewhere for a kicker?
