My biggest takeaway from the last 2 weeks
Ricky Spanish replied to Second_Solution's topic in Carolina Panthers
We are 0-2 in games he announces. I'd rather he stay far away from us for the time being. -
Miller and Daley need to sit. Immediately.

Panthers Draft History - 2011 to 2021
Ricky Spanish replied to SetfreexX's topic in Carolina Panthers
I did a deep dive into this a while back and Hurney's drafts just absolutely killed us simply due to the lack of quality depth. For Hurney, First round, write it in pen, dude will be an absolute stud. Hurney in the 2nd and beyond, the majority don't even belong in the NFL. Our rosters were always top heavy with Hurney and whenever one guy went down we were screwed. I'm cautiously optimistic that Fitt is going to turn it around based on everything he's done so far. -
Oh yeah... Wait has he done anything this year?

Ran into Thomas Davis at Khol's a few years back. He was buying an instapot. I said "Wait, are you..." TD said: "Yep. How's it going?", then started looking at his phone while waiting in line. Then my Son crapped his pants so I had to change him in the bathroom. 8/10 experience, would recommend.

One thing to keep in mind, if we don't end up keeping Gilmore and he signs somewhere else, we're most likely going to get a comp pick for it.

fuging Ash Ketchem over here collecting all these cornerbacks like Pokemon. Dude said he wanted to be in on every deal, and my GOD has he done so. Yeah the O-Line is in a rough spot right now, but based on everything he's done so far, I have complete faith he's going to take care of it once he's actually able to (most likely in the offseason).

Holy fucking Shit. The madman actually did it.

Unfortunately Paradis is a great run blocker but below average pass blocker. He's a defensive short stop in baseball. He's a starter in half the league, but he could be replaced with a bigger bat to sacrifice some defensive consistency and the team would be better for it.

Rodney Smith Needs to keep his Jersey
Ricky Spanish replied to Carolina Cajun's topic in Carolina Panthers
He stood out to me A LOT in the thread I made about the O-Line yesterday. Even gave him kudos in the summary. Dude is a legit blocker in the backfield. -
Meanwhile, over at that other expansion team...

It's a shame about that heart condition Meyer is about to have so he can spend more time with his family. -

That was a few years back I believe. That one was absolutely hilarious. -
A Breakdown of the O-Line play from Sunday
Ricky Spanish replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
I didn't bother watching the Cowboy's stuff other than that one play. I was just going to get more angry. -
OK, so I posted this in another thread but some thought it should be it's own. This a breakdown of O-Line Play throughout some key plays from the highlights from the below video. This does not show the full story as these are just highlights: (0:02) First Play where Sam is sacked, Paradis gets baptized and Sam goes down. 100% on Paradis. (2:20) Miller whiffs on his block but is picked up by the RB. Protection didn't slide to pick up the free blitzer from the left side. Not sure if that is on Sam or Paradis for not adjusting presnap - most likely on Sam. (3:07) Miller again whiffs on a block, Sam is able to avoid the rush. Hit by the guy Paradis was blocking but that wasn't on Paradis, solid blocking on that play. (4:38) Not our line but watch their LG #52 completely and BLATANTLY HOLD Fox on the Dak scramble for a first on 4th and 2. This was the same drive where Schultz fumbled but Boger was a fuging idiot and called the play unreviewable. That one just pisses me off so much, unrelated to this thread, just thought you guys should know. (6:06) Miller, again, whiffs his block and Sam Scrambles for a 1st down. Paradis also falls down for some reason but he wasn't doing much on this play to begin with. (6:20) Daley whiffs his block but it's inconsequential because Hubbard bounces outside for a solid gain (Great blocks by Tremble and Erving on this play actually). (6:37) Erving whiff, Sam scrambles to make a completion (7:30) Erving falls and gets Sam Sacked. Gregory slipped between both him and Daley. Erving 90% at fault but Daley didn't even attempt to engage the DE when he slid by (Daley was no longer engaged with his man at this point.) (8:20) Coverage sack. No offensive linemen to blame. (8:38) Daley fails to pick up the stunt allowing a free rusher right at the QB. Sam gets it out to Moore quickly for a completion. (8:54) RB PANCAKES Parsons while Paradis pushes his block directly into Sam while he throws. Erving ends up on his ass again and Daley maaaaaaaaaay have gotten away with a hold (11:34) Offensive line as a whole fails to get any push and we fail on 3rd and 1 (11:51) Pretty Clean Pocket that Darnold is able to climb. Throws a pick though. All Darnold. (13:37) Parsons Sack, RB Cut him but he still got to Sam. Rest of line did their job. More rushers than O-Lineman, can't really blame anyone. (14:20) Line holds up well enough. Paradis gets pushed back more than I would like but Sam stay's upright. (14:33) 97 get's a fantastic jump on the snap and makes Erving's life hard. Doesn't help that Daley gets bullrushed and pushed back onto his heels making Sam roll out of the pocket. End result is a TD. Task failed successfully. Summary: Everyone not named Moton looked bad one play or another in the highlights. Rodney Smith is a legit pass blocking RB. Numerous plays he was in, he was throwing great blocks and keeping Sam safe. Very impressed with him. Erving can't stay on his feet. Paradis wasn't as bad as I thought but not great. His Run blocking was definitely good to great Sliding protections were off throughout the game. Don't know who needs to work on that between Sam and Paradis but it needs to get fixed moving forward. Miller looked like the worst one out there. By a lot. Sam is an elusive SOB. His pocket awareness was actually pretty decent and he was able to navigate it well. Came away very impressed with how he was playing under pressure throughout the game. Pleasantly surprised. Ranking O-Lineman performance based on the above highlights (again, not the full game): Moton Paradis Daley Erving Miller Christiansen needs to get some time in the starting lineup, whether that be at LG, LT, or RT sliding Moton to the left. Daley is not the answer either, but he was horrendous on the right side the other game, better to keep him on the left and a better option than Elflein.

Want to see why you never trust PFF grades?

Paradis run blocking in those clips was actually legit. On one of the longer Chuba runs he blocked a dude, came off the block, then blocked another dude. Daley's Run blocking may have been better too, but both left something to be desired in pass blocking. Erving and Miller were by far the weakest links on the line though. Christensen needs to get some playing time, at either position. -

OK, so this is straight trash. just watching the highlights from the game, not even the full game, Paradis, John Miller (thankfully not on this list) and Dennis Daley all flash as god awful on multiple plays: (0:02) First Play where Sam is sacked, Paradis gets baptized and Sam goes down. 100% on Paradis. (2:20) Miller whiffs on his block but is picked up by the RB. Protection didn't slide to pick up the free blitzer from the left side. Not sure if that is on Sam or the center for not calling it out. Why do we keep trading our FA acquisitions?
Ricky Spanish replied to BurnNChinn's topic in Carolina Panthers
It's the Madden Strategy. Pick up a player in the offseason, unload him for draft picks or better players.
