  1. I'm banning you for 5 minutes to prove that it is possible to dictate how complete strangers on the internet discuss this team.
  2. This thread is funny to me at this point in the game.
  3. Those offenses also had the weapons for downfield options. The schemes themselves were different. Geno's scheme was built different than Baker's, but both emphasized each QB's strengths in order to succeed. Geno was good at deep outs and stretching the field outside the numbers. Baker was good at working intermediate middle of the field, specifically to his right. That's why I don't expect the offense Bryce runs to look like any of the past iterations of offense that he has run in the past. Bootleg football does a good quick breakdown explaining those differences in the below video:
  4. I am holding off judgement for this decision until I see just how poorly the OL Plays on Thursday. If Plummer goes out there and gets Matt Corral'd every play - Good move for the long term.
  5. I know what you're saying though. Derek Brown's RAS score was pretty pedestrian, but he can play: RAS, like the S2 or whatever test you want to use, are all tools to help piece together the draft pick as a prospect, not the end all be all word of god.
  6. Good, honestly. I loved watching him play but I'd hate to see him suffer through the rest of his life. Don't blame anyone who retires from football at an early age.
  7. There's two plays in that clip. Second one is the deep pass. Play starts around the offenses' 45 or the 50 and ball goes to about the 10. At least a 40 yard pass.
  8. It matters more for teams with new coaches and schemes like us, less for teams with established offenses and QBs like the Chiefs or Bengals. I was one of the "Wait and see" people as far as the preseason went, and was willing to give the team to the midpoint as long as there was improvement, but the offense looked just as poo in week 10 as it did in preseason week 1. I am pretty sure that Yosh Nijman has been out and he was supposed to be our swing tackle depth. Having said that, said that, OL Depth was always going to be an issue just based on how completely terrible they were last season.
  9. Re: Bryce deep throws - Do I think he is capable of throwing the ball far enough to be considered an unquestionable "Deep ball"? Yes, but with more effort than other QBs in the league. I would however like to see him be more accurate and show better consistency with said deep balls. That is something we can all, I'm sure, agree on.
  10. Yes he can. Tepper has been a lot of things, but impatient is not one of them. He gave Rivera almost 2 years to prove he could coach a contender after buying the team. It was the right time to move on from Ron, and no one would have blamed him if he cleaned house after the first season. He gave Hurney 3 years due to his experience in the FO even though he sucked as a GM. He gave Rhule 2+ Years as a HC to prove he could put together a winning college formula in the pros when it was PAINFULLY obvious after year 2 that he was not Pro HC material. He gave Frank 11 weeks to try and right the ship after being promised the moon and the stars with the "all star staff" he was willing to put together. The product on the field was so absolutely abysmal that the firing was completely justified. He gave Scott Fitterer 3 years to trade all the remaining talent on our roster away spending all draft capital on lotto tickets for QBs. Dude has been patient. He has made every possible wrong move as an owner since taking over, but he has been patient with the people he has hired trusting their experience to be able to actually do their jobs well. He finally has a fresh first time HC that is young, optimistic, a good communicator, a track record of helping QBs be the best versions of themselves, and hot. Canales is our Dan Campbell. Year one is a freebie, just win more than two games. Year two, improve on year one, potentially make a late season push for the playoffs or be a contender for the last playoff spot at some point in the last quarter of the season. Year 3, playoffs or bust. If we aren't in the playoffs 3 years from now, Canales ain't it, we move on, we try again.
  11. Canales strikes me as one of those guys where saying "Not Thrilled" holds more weight than others. Not necessarily meaning you're in trouble, just it makes you feel bad to disappoint someone upbeat like him.
  12. I would not be surprised if Zavala doesn't make the team.
  13. Post stuff here once it starts, or before it starts, I don't care, I'm not your father.
  14. It's not a lock. A few years back Carson Strong got the biggest UDFA contract from the eagles then barely played or practiced in camp/preseason, then was let go. Of course Coker has already shown more in the short time he's been around than Strong did, but the money is not a factor. I really hope he is spending his time glued to Thielen's hip since they have very similar styles (Not burners, route runners with good hands) and were both UDFAs. A ton of useful knowledge/experience he could get there.
  15. I say I'm willing to give him the entire year, but if week 6 rolls around and he still looks absolutely cheeks I'll be ready to move on then and there.
  16. This practice was one of those where the optimistic fan in me is saying "It's literally day 2 of practice, they're still working on installing this brand new offense" And the fan who has lived in reality the past 6 years and says "Yep, that tracks, we will suck again".
  17. Maybe he's like Kelvin Benjamin and eating his way to a position change?
  18. Bro, we heard the same poo about BY last offseason. It's all positive vibes this time of year for rookies.
  19. Guess fans weren't exactly lining up to see the worst team in the league practice.
  20. Please post updates from Today in this thread. Thank you
