  1. I was a fan too, been following him this offseason. Apparently their third stringer last year came in much improved over the offseason, so much so he was pushing Minshew in viability as backup. One or both are apparently being shopped as a backup for other teams. Strong got the Corral treatment in terms of reps because of it. Wouldn't be surprised if he lands on their practice squad.
  2. Ah, so everyone is getting cut today then.
  3. Dude, Luvu looked like a man possessed out there. Really interested to see how the LB core looks once Shaq gets back.
  4. Honestly Lovett has shown more than Chubba has.
  5. for the second year in a row. Jake verity just got claimed by the Jags, dammit.
  6. Unless you have short arms apparently.
  7. But also, some things are just unlikely
  8. If your team doesn't show improvement in team record from year 1 to 2, especially with no winning record and no playoffs, then generally speaking historically that coach does not end up as a what some would consider a good coach.
  9. Walsh and Knoll did their thing with no salary cap and a different free agency so it took time to build a team back in the day. The game has changed significantly with adjust FA rules, Salary caps, and overall rule changes. Belichick is the true outlier due to the fact he built a dynasty in the Salary Cap era (and the fact he won the super bowl within two years of being the HC of the Pats). Like was also stated previously, all three you listed had NFL pedigrees and experience coaching at the pro level and gained experience under great coaches themselves. Rhule was an assistant OL Coach for one season in the NFL and then went to college. His team also got worse from year 1 to year 2. I want to be wrong. I really do. But I have some serious doubts that Matt Rhule is a good coach my guy.
  10. I'll bite. All those circumstances you listed? Those were self inflicted by Rhule. He chose to get rid of Cam and roll with Teddy, then get rid of Teddy and roll with Darnold. He put the offensive line together by going out and making sure we got "versatile" guys in erving and elflein on DAY ONE of FA last year. He forcefed CMC right after a season where he had over 400 touches. He put together the inexperienced NFL staff that failed the past two seasons. There are PLENTY of other head coaching candidates that could have come in and done better than what Rhule has shown thus far, because they wouldn't have done as many dumb things as Rhule has done.
  11. Nick Sirianni - Playoffs year one Cowboys - playoffs year two under McCarthy Mike Vrabel - Playoffs in year 2 in TN Andy Reid took the Chiefs to the postseason his first year after they finishing with a 2-14 record in 2012 Sean McDermott took the bills to the playoffs in his first year after 18 years of the bills missing the postseason Frank Reich took his team to the playoffs in his first year as HC after not being able to even pick his own staff in 2018 and the Colts were 4-12 in 2017 Sean McVay took the rams to the playoffs year one of his tenure when the rams hadn't made it to the postseason since 2004. Kevin Stefanski took the Browns to the playoffs after a drought of 17 years Matt Nagy (sucks) still took the bears to the playoffs his first year as HC with a 12-4 record after a year of 5-11 Brandon Staley in the playoff hunt year 1 of his tenure as HC of the chargers Bruce Arians - Playoffs in year two Riverboat Ron - Playoffs year one in the dumpster fire that is DC Arthur Goddamn Smith has won more games in his first year with a poo roster and no offensive line than Matt fuging Rhule has in either of his first two seasons.
  12. apparently Reid Sinnett came into camp much improved from last season and the team has been mulling over the idea of trading away either him or Minshew to gain some assets in the draft. Because Sinnett has looked so good, Strong just hasn't gotten any opportunities and is looking like the odd man out.
  13. He's apparently underwhelmed in the preseason/TC. Granted, he seems to be dealing with the same issue Corral was in receiving limited reps throughout, but based on what I have seen he has not been spectacular in the limited chances he has bene given.
  14. I'm going to whisper this one into the void as to not get rippadon's attention: Carson Strong
  15. Dude is a better Eric Reid: In the box safety who is a liability in coverage. If he wants to switch to LB then I'd be fine with it, as is though, we are set at Safety with Chinn and Woods.
  16. You're right, they both share USC. The one that doesn't make sense to me is the middle. What QB does either USC have that went to OU?
  17. The phrase "Red shirt year" will be used at least once.
  18. You guys do realize this is the perfect excuse for Rhule to put Corral on IR and keep PJ around for one more year right? Don't be surprised when that happens Monday.
  19. Corral looks like he hasn't taken any practice reps all training camp. Ickey apparently has looked shaky, which is incredibly concerning. I really like Ickey, but I wanted Cross because he was a better pass blocker right out the gate. He needs to pick things up quicker if we are going to be halfway decent.
  20. Man, I love Taylor Moton and wish he got more recognition across the NFL for just how damn good he is.
  21. I swear to god, if the first TD pass celebration from Mayfield isn't him running up to the receiver and massaging his shoulders, I will be severely disappointed.
  22. Everyone bitching about that play saying robbie should have caught it or baker made the wrong read - That Safety made one HELL of a play covering over half the field in the time it took the ball to get to the receiver. I don't really blame anyone for that other than the Safety. Sometimes good plays are just beat by Great plays.
