  1. The fact that they are a Cowboy fan means you can ignore any opinion they have related to football due to the brain damage that they suffer.
  2. I agree to an extent, but the way of the bell cow back is going by the wayside. The only surefire lock to get into the HOF from the RB position from the past 15 years is Adrian Peterson. Frank Gore might not get in at first since his stats are all due to longevity (which in itself is amazing based on the position he played) but he was never the best back in the league at any point in his career. Behind those two you have Marshawn Lynch and Shady McCoy, neither of which are a lock to get in. WRs, on the other hand are experiencing a logjam to get into the HOF. Guys like Smitty and Andre Johnson would have been locks to get in if they were eligible 20 years ago, but the game has changed so much that guys like Tory Holt and Reggie Wayne are waiting to get in, with guys like Julio Jones, Antonio Brown, and Larry Fitzgerald not eligible yet, but in consideration once they are. It makes sense to pay WRs in this day and age because the position is at a premium and unless you have an S Tier QB in Mahomes or Rodgers, you need great Receivers. Whereas with a RB, you can get away with not having even great talent at the position.
  3. On average, RB stats start going down after the age of 26. There's no reason to keep a RB after his rookie deal is over.
  4. That's my point though? Why pay a RB a second contract when young guys on rookie deals produce for way cheaper.
  5. C. McCaffrey - 1880 Total Yards, 13 Total TDs, 4.7 yd/att, 8.7 yd/catch, $11.8 Million salary Travis Etienne - 1441 Total Yards, 5 Total TDs, 5.1 yd/att, 9.0 yd/catch, $1.8 Million Salary CMC had the better season yes, but Etienne had a good year for 1/6th the cost. Was CMC's season 6x better than Etienne's? I don't think it was. What is the more cost effective asset here? Of course CMC is elite. Everyone knows this. But you don't need an elite RB in today's NFL to get 85% of the same output for a fraction of the cost.
  6. I feel like Wilks could have been a great coach for us, but at a different time in the franchise. If Rivera had not been the coach right before the Rhule hire, I could see it happening. But going from Rivera to Rhule to Wilks just seems like ending up where we started, especially since Wilks would be pulling together a very similar staff to Rivera since their coaching carreers are so intertwined On top of that we are in desperate need of a Franchise QB and Reich is a great offensive mind/teacher, he lines up better in terms of team overall need. If we brought Wilks in with a QB already in place, I think it could have worked. Wilks seems like the right guy at the wrong time for us. Hopefully Reich is the right guy at the right time.
  7. I don't see how anyone can trust Zane to stay healthy.
  8. Dammit, this just reminded me how much I miss Cam. God he was fun.
  9. I would have no problem with adding him to our staff.
  10. God I hope we hire him for the huddle meltdown alone. Zod will need to invest in more hamsters. This place will burn
  11. General Excitement. Rivera was a great candidate with a track record of success at multiple stops leading Defenses to top 5 finishes multiple times. I think he was in the top 2 in terms of who the fanbase wanted between him and Harbaugh, and even many Harbaugh stans were fine with the hire as a consolation prize.
  12. I'll call it "Panthers hire Steve Wilks: The fruit stripe gum result"
  13. Steichen was my original want this hiring cycle, but after watching some videos of him and how he addresses the team, dude might not have the HC "it" factor. Guy understands the X's and O's really well, but from the limited clips I have seen of him, he doesn't seem like much of a people person.

  15. Yeah but the mystery door could be anything. It could even be a car, European vacation and $50,000.
  16. Our Next HC could sacrifice a goat before every game on the 50 and I would not even bat a damn eye if we ended up with the dub.
  17. Reich was only the WR coach in AZ for one year in 2012. That's... not really his fault? And he failed in SD partly because Mike McCoy was the HC. He went to Philly and turned Carson Wentz into an MVP Candidate and turned Nick Foles into Big Dick Nick. Then went to Indy where he didn't get to hire his staff initially because McDaniels pulled out after hiring some of the staff, then turned around and took Andrew Luck to the postseason, then Luck Surprised Retired right at the beginning of the next season so there was no replacement in place so they scrambled with the Brisket. Dude was super unlucky up in Indy. He was fantastic by all accounts up in Philly. SD, sure, not great, but also Mike McCoy was the one running the show and that's bad for everyone involved. Plus, you know, he had a top 10 passing offense both the two years he was the OC there. AZ he was a WR coach. It's obviously his fault the offense wasn't elite. I'm not following your narrative, especially when he has been a part of a top 10 offenses in 4 of the past 6 years, and has created great passing offenses with halfway decent QBs in every stop he's had some control over the offense.
