  1. You guys are so damn dramatic. Dude is being signed to be a vet backup for the rookie. This is good news. He's incredibly smart and understands the game well. He'll be our Rookie's Derek Anderson. Absolutely nothing wrong with this.
  2. Props to Wilks for lighting the initial match, firing half the staff and getting rid of Anderson.
  3. I think Bryce is the better QB, but the further into the draft season his size really concerns me more simply based on the way he plays the position. Dude has the Russell Wilson "The plays not over till it's over" mentality and scrambles and makes some amazing things happen, but dude takes some SHOTS while doing it. Those same shots are only going to get harder and more violent in the pros. Other than that the guy is a baller.
  4. I'd love to bring him back and sign/draft another shiftier guy with upside.
  5. 63rd: First pick in the third round, 2 picks in the second were forfeited that year - Saints for Bountygate and Browns to take Josh Gordon in the Supplemental Draft. It's semantics, but the fact that you were harping on it so much it needed to be pointed out. Regardless, Yes, he was picked essentially where a 2nd rounder would have been drafted. He's the best there is right now. He's an outlier though. Every other good TE ranked 4-10 is essentially interchangeable, and they were all drafted all over the damn place. To further strengthen my argument, the #2 and 3 best TEs in the NFL Right now - Kittle and Andrews, were drafted in the 5th round (Pick 146) and 3rd Round (Pick 86) respectively. Don't waste high picks on a TE. It's like RB but with a longer wait for results and harder to predict NFL Production.
  6. I'm saying that the production he provides is not so different from the other, many FA RBs this offseason that I would overpay for him when I could get 90-95% of his production for a fraction of the price. Dude balled out for us last year and there isn't a lot of wear on his tires so I am for bringing him back, but not at a premium. No more big RB Contracts ever again. Ever.
  7. He's more than a burner. Huge target at 6'4. His biggest issue is he can't stay healthy. When he's on the field he is a damn good receiver, but availability being the best ability might drive his price down.
  8. that's very reasonable. We might have a shot at Chark or JuJu
  9. I'd gladly take him or one of the other 30 viable RBs that are available in FA at a reasonable price.
  10. Dude is a solid back-up that Rhule thought should start because he's "Versatile". Ironically enough his versatility makes him a very valuable backup, just not a valuable starter.
  11. I was going to say the same thing. Brissett and Dalton are my top 2 in terms of backup QBs. They'd be our Derek Anderson 2.0 - Guys who have started in this league and know what it takes to stick around. Neither are so talented that they would threaten the rookie as the starter, but knowledgeable and stable enough to come in and start and win a few if needed.
  12. Kelce was a 3rd round pick. Top 100 for sure, but that's not a first or second rounder. You can get TJ Hockenson level production from a guy in the 4th or 5th round without using a first or second round pick. TE is seriously ridiculously hard to scout.
  13. I'd prefer the guy that can stay healthy at a position where you generally don't carry more than one on the roster at a time (Unless you are John Fox)
  14. Carl being awfully quiet after talking a lot of crap about how incompetent the FO was a few days ago...
  15. Good for Sam, honestly, wish him nothing but the best.
  16. Personally not thrilled at this. Eddy was great outside one game, plus he doesn't get injured during warmups consistently.
  17. One of the better Matt Rhule related guys we picked up but still pretty meh.
  18. There's a difference between being a QB that can Run and a Running QB. Mahomes is the former. Hurts started out as the later and has progressed to the former. My biggest issue with the running QBs is the increased injury risk. They're fun as hell while healthy, but sooner or later they get hurt, and then there's no telling if they'll be able to transition to the QB that can run category. And yes, QBs can get hurt on regular passing plays, of course and they might not take a ton of big hits while running, but it seems like a compounding issue the more hits they take. Kind of like: QB 1 takes 2 sacks and one huge hit standing in the pocket over the course of a game QB 2 takes 1 sack, gets hit running the ball 12 times, then takes one huge hit standing in the pocket over the course of a game. Sure the 12 hits might not have been big, but he was still hit 11 more times than QB1. Those hits add up over time.
  19. Disagree. TE's generally take at least 2-3 years to get up to NFL caliber play. We need a receiving threat NOW. We can't wait for one to possibly, maybe develop. TE is one of the hardest positions to play and the best ones in the league are generally not drafted high. Get our rookie a vet TE who knows how to get open and play the position.
  20. Colts fans seem to be alright with this. Apparently he took a huge step back this past year (off the field tragedy possibly playing a very large part in it). Would be interested in kicking the tires if we don't get Boze.
  21. As far as TEs go, I am more inclined to either sign a FA or draft one in the mid to late rounds than I am to draft a TE high. Damn near every good TE throughout the league was a post 3rd round pick or didn't get good until their second team/contract. It's probably the hardest position in the NFL to play and there is really only two or three truly Great TEs in the entire NFL right now (Kelce, Andrews, and Kittle) and none were high picks. The difference in talent between TE 1 to 3 is bigger than the difference between TE 3 to 15. The position is such a crapshoot. I just assume sign Schultz or Gesicki and have average play rather than sit on a prospect and hope he pans out to be average one day.
  22. Didn't really care to watch this one until yesterday. Now we need to find a good WR, hopefully in round 2. Always good content from this guy with detailed breakdowns of each player and NFL Comps.
  23. Good X's and O's youtube channel that has some great content breakdowns of players of all positions. They have videos of Icky and Tommy Tremble coming out in the draft and have chosen their #1 QB: TL;DW it's Stroud
