  1. BOB had the most success of any former NE staffer by far. He is considered a fantastic offensive mind and great OC. As a HC, he was solid to good, more winning seasons and playoff appearances in 6 years in Houston than Rivera had in 9 here with us. Things went to poo the moment they fired their GM and gave him the keys to everything. The Hopkins deal was thought of as one of the worst in NFL history at the time it was made, and it only looks worse a few years out now. Jack Easterby is a charlatan that ran that franchise into the ground as he made a coup for the power.
  2. This way we have at least one pick in the first two rounds each year for the next 3 years, as opposed to no first or second next season. It'd be easier to trade back in 2025 to recoup a second than trade up into round 2 with limited resources next season. Honestly prefer it this way so we still have the chance to get some good players in the draft next season as opposed to waiting until pick 70 before drafting for the first time.
  3. The guys that came up with the test went to Vanderbilt. There's no indication that the football program of Vanderbilt actually utilizes it. Even if they did, they're not a powerhouse football program so they aren't picking from the deepest of talent pools.
  4. Agreed. Richardson's accuracy goes to crap at random, and it's not just because his footwork sucks like Allen's did. He just misses throws sometimes. That's an almost innate trait. Compare the accuracy next to Stroud who puts it on the money damn near every time and the athleticism doesn't make up for it. I'd still take Richardson over Levis, but still after both Stroud and Young. Some place like Seattle, or Detroit would be the perfect landing spot for Richardson.
  5. So sayeth Daniel Jeremiah: Looks like the video is blocked on the huddle but the link is timestamped at 36:04. The S2 Test was a topic of discussion a few weeks back from another thread I posted: Now Jeremiah is claiming that Young has the highest score this year and it's not public knowledge. Said Purdy had the highest score last year, Allen had the highest his draft, and Mahomes had the highest his draft. I believe Burrow had the highest his draft as well. I'd really love to know how Stroud did on that damn test, but the thread the other week said the entire class has amazing scores this year so who knows? Anyway, the more stuff like this I see the more I think we are going to draft Young, even though I lean slightly towards CJ myself but will be happy with either one.
  6. So he apparently was originally at Penn State but chose to transfer because he was stuck down the depth chart behind future NFL Guys like Pat Friermuth and wasn't getting the chance he thought he deserved. Transferred to Old Dominion and became the focal point of their offense after week 4. Went on to have over 700 receiving yards his junior year. Comes in his senior year ready to pop off but gets injured for the year. Big bummer. Based on the combine performance, he is completely healed. Could be a potential diamond in the rough TE Prospect. He's the kind of TE you take in the 3rd round and he blows up a few years later as one of the best in the league and people start questioning "Why'd he fall in the draft?" I'm down.
  7. Timestamped "This is quite literally one of the best workouts we've ever seen from an NFL Player at the Combine" "Zack Kuntz the athlete, should really only exist inside of Madden" "This is the highest upside TE prospect that has ever walked the earth just in terms of athletic potential."
  8. It's true, just look at the recent influx of new huddlers since we traded up to 1. It's weird. People staunchly in Stroud's camp seem to be overall condescending. People staunchly in Bryce's camp seem to have a cult-like mentality that he is the one true righteous QB. Then there's the rest of us that are just happy to be here.
  9. Uh huh. Big "I actually broke up with her" Vibes.
  10. Yeah but we didn't hire him because he's kind of an idiot.
  11. Been ahead of the game for years.
  12. I don't understand your thread title since Tom Brady has played the Panthers in Charlotte numerous times throughout his career.
  13. I mean we just had Rhule who wanted to sell the farm to get Watson so...
  14. One thing about Stroud's tape that is INCREDIBLY encouraging is that he grew as the season went on. Throws/concepts he missed on early in the year he was able to recognize and take advantage of later in the season. That makes me think he has the capacity to grow in the NFL as well, and that his own processor is plenty fast in it's own right. Again, I'm happy with either.
  15. Right? Warren Moon Sucked too. And that guy Kurt Warner couldn't even make it in the CFL, he had to go to Europe. All joking aside, up until the past decade or so, QBs could actually be touched while playing the game of football so you needed a big dude that could take the hits. With the newer rules protecting them now in place, guys who would have previously been passed over due to size concerns are now playing QB more often. The prototypical QB of 6'4 and 220 lbs isn't true anymore. Guys all sizes are showing that they can play and play at high levels in the NFL while not being skyscrapers. Brees, Wilson, Mayfield, Murray, Tua, and Hurts are all 6'1 and below, and all have either been drafted high or played at a high level in the NFL at one point or another. The new rules of the NFL allow the short kings to play QB now. Having said all that, as of today I want us to draft CJ Stroud. Yesterday it was Young.
  16. ^ Me trying to decide who I want between Young and Stroud
  17. In defense of Bryce Young: You don't know if he's missing these guys, they're running the wrong routes, or what the play progression is. For the play with the Green dot, JT O'Sullivan breaks that play down and says the receiver most likely ran the wrong route (I have it timestamped): The TD pass you pointed out: from the endzone view it looks like the receiver you highlight was read #3 after the other two guys on the left. The argument could be made he should have been able to identify that look pre-snap, but he was still able to buy time in the pocket, keep his head downfield and throw a TD. JT's video is great and he further breaks down the rest of the game gushing about him, because he had 5 TDs and over 300 yards passing. CJ is a rhythm thrower in part because he has the superior supporting cast and his offensive scheme is incredibly QB Friendly so it allows him to be in rhythm all game long. The Georgia game showed that he can throw off schedule and excel at it when given the chance, but was that a flash in the pan? Bryce Young has shown the playmaking "IT" Factor on more than one occasion. His tape is filled with it. It's why I'd be thrilled if we drafted him. You can find 1 or 2 plays per game from both CJ and Bryce where they make the wrong read or just flat out miss someone. It happens. But more often times than not Bryce does not miss those guys (Neither does CJ for that matter). Both QBs look like great prospects. It is a 1a, 1b kind of a deal for me at this point. The questions the team needs to ask and answer are: How much is CJ propped up by his scheme and talent that surrounds him? How much will Bryce Young's size hinder him in the NFL? Everything else can be answered by watching tape with these two, because they are both great prospects. Once they come to an answer to those questions, we'll take our guy and hope for the best.
  18. True true, But I don't know of anyone currently doing it.
  19. I absolutely love it. I have 3 custom jerseys (One of each color) with the number 0 and my name on them. Originally did it to avoid having the Jersey of a guy who left the team potentially on bad terms, now I'm just ahead of the curve.
  20. I mean you're already starting on Second with a group of guys if your name is "Bumper".
  21. There was only one Luke Kuechly. I'm not sure of anyone else in the league that is diagnosing plays to the extent Luke did, and that was because he was a film junkie and watched it daily. Also that has nothing to do with sensing when someone is around you or getting close to you. One of Bryce's best traits is having a great feel for where everyone is on the field at any given time. He avoids pressure within the pocket better than anyone in the class. Tom Brady is the GOAT in large part due to his unbelievable pocket awareness/manipulation. Dude moved in the pocket better than anyone pretty much ever. He was hardly ever sacked because of the way he was able to sense pressure and avoid it while in the pocket.
  22. If the "instinct" you possess is being able to know/avoid pressure/hits while in the pocket then that translates pretty damn well to the NFL. Some guys have that 6th sense while they stand there. Others have no idea when they're about to be hit or when to make a slight move up or down in the pocket.
  23. If that is his full name why has no one asked where the "J" comes from yet?
