Yes. But in like round 4 or 5 of the draft.

Panthers sign Dolphins RG Robert Hunt

Also, for those who may remember, Hunt is the guy who "scored" the illegal touching TD that should have counted based strictly on "Rule of Cool" -

Literally no starting QB in the league can see over him, he's that big. -

Why the fuck not? -
He is all around more efficient than Carr. He has put up the same stats in fewer games than Carr. Kirk Also has a better career TD to INT %. Kirk is a top 10 QB by all metrics hovering around 7-10 consistently. You can win a SB with that kind of QB Play. Having said ALL of this, Kirk, like the Falcons, has a reputation of choking when it matters. So either it's a match made in meme heaven for everyone but the Falcons, or their anti-clutchness cancels each other out and they are actually good.

Ok: Cousins has started fewer games(145 to 159, nearly a season less), thrown more TDs (270 to 242), higher YPA (7.6 to 7.1), Higher QB Rating (98.2 to 92.3), and a better record as a starter (76-67-2 vs. 72-87). They are not the same.

Kirk is way better than Carr.

Jesus, last season was our worst offseason in team history bar none.

What would go in a package for Burns/Higgins swap?
Ricky Spanish replied to RumHam's topic in Carolina Panthers
By all accounts Higgins is the Brian Burns of Receivers - Young, good, promising, not quite elite #1 player at his position. Grass is always greener and all. I'd still rather have a receiver so the offense doesn't look catatonic. -
dude was solid but I hope he doesn't drop off a cliff due to age.

I'd honestly be perfectly fine paying Brown that much, even though he doesn't have the sacks, he's still a consistent disruptive force.

Panthers re-sign major contributor

I would like to point out that the Panthers' Youtube Channel has cut and promoted both the Canales and Luke Segments from Kay's show, and that's it. They did not pull the Nicole Tepper portion as well. Take that for what it is...

Luvu / Burns…. Gross / Peppers Dejavu
Ricky Spanish replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
We must protect Frankie at all costs. Also, we are probably further along in terms of contract negotiation with Frankie than Burns and his delusions of grandeur. -
It is comical how damn near every single major decision we have made in the past 5 or so years has ended up being the wrong choice all the way down. You have to be both incompetent and unlucky for things to work out as badly as they have for us.

It does, but I still think it's unlikely we move him. Also we don't HAVE to get 2 firsts if we agree to another level of compensation.
-
Probably aren't trading him. Unless we give him permission to talk to other teams about a contract extension (like Lamar Jackson last year), we are keeping him. The time to trade him is either before the draft, during is unlikely, after is pointless.
-
Moton is one of the few players on the team worth keeping/extending. Tack on another 2 or so years to the deal and spread the hit out more, not hard and everyone wins. I can't understand the logic of trying to fix the line by getting rid of the best player on it...

By all accounts Reich was a great dude, but I think the game passed him by.
-
One thing I find encouraging at least, and what is different from Rhule and Reich, is that he isn't coming in here with the expectations that the players will adjust to his scheme or his process will fix everything. He is evaluating everyone, looking at their strengths and weaknesses, trying to determine what the players can actually do, and then trying to adjust his scheme around that. Pretty refreshing honestly. Evero mentioned doing it previously and we saw that he did exactly that, his schemes and tendencies changed as the year went on based on the personnel he had available due to injuries throughout the season. Defense was never great, but they were servicable with a bunch of JAGs at starting spots through different stretches of the year, and that shows the coach can maximize the talent he has. Cannales comes off as having the same mindset. Again, encouraging, but we do need to see some actual results.
