  1. Dude is also a freak athlete. A lot of people don't realize that. He actually ran snaps at WR in the NFL at one point and there's a highlight real of him going HAM in an intramural basketball league.
  2. Wilson is my pipe dream but I feel like he's going to be the #2 QB off the board and the only way we can guarantee that we get him is if we trade up to 2 or 3.
  3. Well, we weren't for about 2 years there, but in between those two years we brought Hurney back and we aren't rolling much cap over again (to no surprise).
  4. Bengals are getting new Unis... Where are ours damnit?!?!
  5. Look at those construction cranes in the background. Symbolic, no?
  6. I mean he did that here and it didn't work at all either, before and after Tepper. No winning seasons as a GM since Fox was our Head coach.
  7. Welp, he's the assistant OL coach so he can only do so much damage. His father was also, by all accounts, a fantastic OL coach, just mediocre head coach.
  8. I was mistaken and misread a tweet, carry on.
  9. it was reported that towards the end of their time together Rodgers would straight up ignore the plays McCarthy was calling because he knew they were garbage and would call his own.
  10. Prime Rodgers for the following reasons: Brady had Belichick as his coach up until this season. Belichick is one of, if not the, greatest coaches in NFL history. I won't argue who was more important to the success of the team, but the fact that they both had each other was beneficial for everyone involved. Rodgers had Mike McCarthy up until last year. Two coaches in different stratospheres. Rodgers is the most efficient QB in NFL History. He has 412 TDs to 89 interceptions (4.6 ratio). That's INSANE. For perspective, Tom brady is the second best at efficiency at 589 TDs to 191 INTs (3.04). If Aaron Rodgers threw an interception on his next 46 consecutive passes, he would still have a better career ratio than Brady. Rodgers is more mobile Rodgers has a stronger arm Rodgers doesn't have to deal with family drama because he doesn't talk to his. Less off field distractions. Brady has a weird health cult going on Brady is the GOAT but Rodgers is the BOAT. Brady has had more overall success because he has had the benefit of playing with one of the best coaches of all time. Rodgers has had more individual success because he has dragged his teams, coaches, and organization to wins against their will at times. Rodgers said it himself "Down years for me are career years for most quarterbacks", and he's not wrong.
  11. You are incorrect. They grade each player and each play on an individual basis regardless if they were the target or not. So if DJ made a good release, had great separation, and got open 30 yards downfield, he would have received a positive grade on the play. On that same play, Teddy would have received a negative grade for not throwing it to DJ (If he had the time to make it to that progression). The fact that he wasn't targeted does not hurt on the above example. HOWEVER, if he were targeted, his grade could go up depending on if he caught it, he made a great catch from a bad throw, he got great YAC, or scored a TD. His grade on the play would most likely stay the same if he just caught it and didn't do anything. His grade on the play would go down if he dropped it, caught it and ran backwards, or he fumbled. So, I will say that Teddy not targeting DJ most likely negatively impacted his overall grade, but not necessarily in the way that people think. Teddy didn't make DJ look worse, Teddy just didn't let DJ look as good as he could have. And I think we can all agree on that.
  12. Who throws the ball has nothing to do with how PFF grades receivers. It's based on a play by play and individual basis, and graded on if the receiver had a positive play, a negative play, or a neutral play. If DJ had to make a dope ass catch because Teddy threw it like crap, he would be rewarded. Adams was the best WR in the league this year. His route running is Elite and he caught anything thrown near him. DJ's routes are OK, and he did fine but Adams was a monster all year.
  13. Brown has above average speed. Ginn has elite speed. Both have their contributions for the offense and I don't see them taking a spot from the other.
  14. A few days before the draft I was at the Arboretum Harris Teeter and saw him at the pharmacy. He was wearing a panther shirt and panther athletic shorts. I stopped dead in my tracks because I've never seen a panther player or coach around town before and my wife was pestering me like "What? What's wrong? Who's that?" So I tell her "I Think That's Ricky Proehl, the WR coach for the panthers" So my wife being the bubbly, upbeat and social person she is says "You should go say hi" And I said "No, I don't want to disturb him" So she shouts out "Ricky! Ricky Ross!" So I shushed her and ushered her away before she embarrassed me in front of Ricky Proehl. And that's the day I narrowly avoided social interaction with Ricky Proehl at Harris Teeter.
  15. we beat the broncos in the Super Bowl with a better offensive Gameplan, not by adding more players to the mix. Prevent Remmers from being on an island with Miller, stop running up the gut every first down, and run more read option to keep the edge rushers honest. Also not turning the ball over would help tremendously. I truly felt that we were the better overall team, we just didn't play like it that day.
  16. They are cheaper and can grow into their roles. Gettleman Tagged Norman in order to try and work out a long term deal. From everything I have gathered, GMan came at Norman's agent with 10 mil per year first off, and wanted to negotiate. The Agent came back with 16. Gettleman came back with 11, agent came back with 16. Gettleman said I am not doing 16, and the Agent said, that's fine, we'll hold out but we're getting 16. Then Gettleman said, that's cool, but you'll get it somewhere else. Queue Norman finding out, trying to sign the original franchise tag offer because he didn't really want to leave or hold out, but the Agent fudged up so hard that it was no longer possible. Norman was not able to fire his agent due to league rules so he hired a second dude to negotiate his next contract and told the first guy to take a backseat and shut the fudge up. This lead to Norman getting a crap ton of money from the skins. So Norman got his money (at the price of familiarity and comfort) and we got 14 million to spend on other players (at the expense of our all-pro corner). No one knows who made the right call, but the way our scheme is built, Corners like Norman wants to be aren't meant to be paid 14 million because they aren't as important as the DL and LBers. You don't need a lockdown guy in our scheme. You need multiple guys that know how to play zone. Hopefully these guys we drafted can do it.
  17. One thing people arguing about Hurney and Gettleman and BPA strategy are forgetting is the following: BPA for Hurney ≠ BPA for Gettleman. Two different GMs, two different scouting companies, two different backgrounds, two different ways in constructing a draft board. I truly believe that Hurney believed he was taking the BPA based on the board they put together. Now was that necessarily the case after round one? Hell no, hardly ever. But it's who they had rated highest in a position that required depth and or an immediate need so they pounced. I trust Gettleman far more than I do Hurney when it comes to picking BPA, because he was a scout and has a better eye for talent overall than Hurney ever did. Props to Hurney for getting the first round right year after year, but after the first he was just not good at identifying the best available talent.
  18. Point 2 if - Johnson doesn't take a pay cut he's gone. The stuff about his relationship with Richardson is irrelevant considering Gettleman already axed Smitty, who Richardson loved. Gettleman trims fat and it got us to a super bowl.
  19. I don't think Jared Allen is as bad as you people seem to think he is. Sure he isn't the same Jared Allen as 3 years ago, but he still gets consistent pressure and is great against the run. Do you guys not remember the beginning of the game last week where Johnson was getting solid runs? They eventually had to abandon it because we went up so much, and even then he lead the team in catches. Anderson and Hillman are no slouches, so I think it'd be a great thing to have Allen out there for the Ship.
  20. As of this thread's creation, the Panthers are 5-2 in home games that I have been to in my life. Giving me the tickets will only increase the odds that the Panthers win. I <3 the panthers and they <3 playing for me.
