Offensive Philosophy: The Tortoise vs The Hare
Ricky Spanish replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
I will say, watching some of Sam's INT's from the past, a good number of them were him trying to play hero ball and trying to make a big play happen when the play broke down, or the team was in a bind. That kind of stuff CAN be coached out - If the coaching staff is halfway decent. Honestly, the fact he threw one of his two passes out of the endzone on Sunday shows that he might actually be making progress because in years past, I'm not sure if he would have done the same thing instead of forcing a ball into the EZ to make a big play. I remain cautiously optimistic. -
What a dictator...

Teddy Bridgewater named starter over Drew Lock
Ricky Spanish replied to @bonafidebanter's topic in Carolina Panthers
What's funny is THEY passed on Fields to give Lock a shot... At least Darnold is actually starting for us... -

It's why I always disagree with everyone that says the Matt KAlil Deal was the worst deal in our team's history. They always claim it was 50 million, but it was only 25 guaranteed. It wasn't a good deal by any stretch of the imagination, but it wasn't as crippling as everyone painted it to be. The Teddy deal on the other hand, absolute garbage.

Ravens bring in a kicker every year and they have the literal GOAT in Justin Tucker: This year it's a rookie from ECU https://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/ravens/bs-sp-ravens-kickers-20210823-mt3cbg42gvaolallwj2t7bqurm-story.html A few years back they flipped Vedvick for a 5th rounder before preseason was over: https://ravenswire.usatoday.com/2019/08/11/ravens-trade-k-p-kaare-vedvik-to-vikings-for-5th-round-pick-in-2020-nfl-draft/ Granted, it's not really a competition, because he's the GOAT, but most teams bring in a second leg for training camp at the very least.

It's been injuries honestly. Injured in 2018, his rookie year. Won the job in Chicago in 2019, then got injured again in 2020 and was placed on IR.

Could Panthers be trading for a kicker?
Ricky Spanish replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Been kicking around renaming this thread "Panthers should be trading for a Kicker" -
Give me Piniero or the backup in Baltimore.

PREDICTIONS - How will Sam Darnold do against the Ravens
Ricky Spanish replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
6/9 for 69 yards But for real, I think they give us the ol' bamboozle and sit him due to some o-line issue. -
Still Want to Upgrade -- Via Trade??
Ricky Spanish replied to SetfreexX's topic in Carolina Panthers
If we get a legit LT then we can slide BC inside and have Guard taken care of for the foreseeable future as well. He could be backup RT in the event Moton goes down, but I think the staff sees his future on the inside. -
Still Want to Upgrade -- Via Trade??
Ricky Spanish replied to SetfreexX's topic in Carolina Panthers
The big question is what, and or who, would we give up for a tackle? Are there any WR needy teams out there that have excess tackles? Would they want Robby Anderson? Our receiver corp seems pretty damn deep this year, a guy that's good isn't going to make the final roster cuts, so maybe he's a pawn in the trade. Could we also be looking at dealing our first or third next year (we don't have a second)? We Demand Answers -
Carolina Panthers - Baltimore Ravens Joint Practice 1
Ricky Spanish replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
They got progressively worse with each new RB running the drill. -
I'm done with the tiptoeing around this crap. My family is going to a memorial for my grandfather on Friday as a direct result of the dumbassery that has been prevalent in our society over the past year. Let it be known that ANY future spreading of coronavirus misinformation in the main Panther forum will be met with an immediate ban. Topics about Coronavirus can stay if you all remain civil and keep to the facts that pertain to the situation being discussed and it's direct relation to panther football ie: Player X is out because of Covid - "Bummer, how will this effect the game?" Masks will be required to attend a game at location Y - "That sucks and I will be uncomfortable". or "the article states it is to prevent the spread of covid-19" Do Not: Complain that it's a part of the new world order Complain that it's a government conspiracy to control the Sheeple Talk about how the Rona is a hoax and everyone is being babies Circle jerk to anti-vaccine sentiments Cite Karen from facebook as a legitimate source of medical information If you see any of this BS moving forward - Report the post in question so that the crack team of misanthropes that are the moderators can assess the situation and do what needs to be done. Luke Kuechly in Buffalo Bills gear
Ricky Spanish replied to Carl Spackler's topic in Carolina Panthers
Luke has absolutely 0 ties to any coaching staff/front office people in the building anymore. All those guys are either in Buffalo or DC. I'm neither offended, nor surprised at this. I'm just glad Luke looks healthy. -
Vanilla defensive scheme. I'd be more concerned for the QBs that don't look marginally average in these situations... (Grier)
