  1. His line is bad this year, but not as bad as ours last year. His scheme is also bad this year, but still not as bad as ours this year. We had multiple offensive schemes frankenstein'd into the abomination that was last year. His weapons are fine this year, even with injuries. Our weapons from last year have combined for something like 150 total yards across the league so far this season. Stroud is still better. I won't argue that. But jesus, last year was just so absolutely putrid across the board, Fitt should be hired again just so we can fire him again.
  2. Only way "Going to get your guy" makes sense is if you fall ass backwards into a ton of high picks and use those picks to get the guy. For example, if we somehow land a top 2 or 3 pick and a QB desperate team wants to trade up with us so they can take Ward or Sanders, I say we take it. Get a pick for next year. Then in the 2026 draft you have two firsts to either use to draft a replacement QB for Bryce OR use the two picks in the trade package to move up and draft a guy. Then you aren't hampering your team for years and can still continuously build around the rookie using the draft.
  3. ... Ranking the worst mistakes for all 32 teams since 2020: https://www.espn.com/nfl/insider/story/_/id/42989713/ranking-worst-roster-coaching-mistakes-all-32-nfl-teams-2020-watson-wilson-rodgers #6 was Jax hiring Urban Meyer. Rounding out the bottom 4: 49ers trading for Lance Jets Trading for Rodgers Broncos trading for and then extending Wilson Browns trading for and extending Watson
  4. We look better and more competitive (Last game notwithstanding) than all of last year and the beginning of this year. We lost two of our best defensive players within the first few weeks of the season, and the guy we brought in to replace the pass rush void of both luvu and burns didn't make it onto the field until a few weeks ago due to some unfortunate post op setbacks. Bryce looks better than last year. The offense looks better than last year. The team as a whole looks better than last year. Vibes in general, seem better than last year. Let's see how much they improve next year and judge that. If all we're doing is comparing Canales' first year to Reich's first year - Canales is light-years ahead of where Reich was. Hopefully we can build on it. And if Bryce ends up being completely trash but the rest of the team improves, then the '25/'26 draft is going to be the time to draft a QB.
  5. I assumed no one was going to read the article so I put the summary in the OP. Seems like no one read the summary either.
  6. https://theanalyst.com/2024/12/bryce-young-is-closing-the-gap-on-c-j-stroud Before you all go bonkers, the article does go on to say stroud is still ahead, however bryce has made significant improvements to get CLOSER to stroud, whereas stroud has been worse this season. tl;dr Stroud is still ahead of young, but the Trajectories are going in different directions.
  7. He has only played in 7 games and has 15 tackles and 4 sacks on the season, 3 coming last week. He signed a 2 year 18 million dollar contract costing them 10 million this year alone. DJ Wonnum has played in 3 games has 19 tackles and 3 sacks on the season. We signed him for a 2 year 12 million dollar contract costing us 5.4 million this year alone. It took him time to see the field but Wonnum is already better than Gross-Matos ever was with us. And he's cheaper. I am not losing sleep about losing him even if he had a good game last week.
  8. XL is getting himself open by using his size and with some downright good routes. He just needs to work on finishing the catch. JT Sanders has been the biggest surprise for me in terms of immediate impact. I didn't expect him to do jack the first year or two just based on how TEs tend to progress in the NFL, but he has been a legitimate contributor in the passing game thus far. Hope he continues to improve moving forward.
  9. Marshall was the '06 draft, the year before Kalil and Jarrett, so even further into the past.
  10. Bradberry, Samuel, Moton, Jackson are our best most recent in 16/17/18. KK Short in 13 Before that you have to go back to 07 with Kalil, and even then we still took Jarret in the 2nd as well. The list above includes anyone between solid to good. The fact the rest were JAGs who were out of the league within a few years shows how bad we are at it.
  11. Dude's route running has been legit good so far, something I was not anticipating this early in his career. I hope he hits the jugs machine for 3 hours a day over the offseason.
