To whom much is given much is required.

For the same reason people scrutinize political figures for things they say and do. When you are part of an organization and have as much influence as you do, the understanding is that you conduct yourself in the manner of your position.

Some of you really like to spin your own narrative. He played 3 full seasons at nearly 100% snaps. He still played chunks of the subsequent next two seasons and was healthy when we traded him.

It’s the equivalent of saying “tsk tsk.”

You’d be looking at just over $1 fine. Factoring in Tepper’s value is >20 billion with a fine of $300,000. This just shows you how much wealth he’s sitting on and how meaningless this fine is. It also shows if you have enough cash you can get away with just about anything. What a joke.

There is always power to sink. Tepper just proved that.

Well…yeah. They’re the “Carolina” Panthers. But let’s be honest. If the team was sold they aren’t moving to Raleigh or Columbia. They’re moving west. Riot has chapters in several states and a few countries but not everyone is going to continue to support the team if they’re not playing in the Carolinas. That was my entire point.

What do you gain from it then?

Some of us are transplants who have grown to love CLT and the Panthers. It’s not about team identity. It’s not just about the team culture. The community has its own culture that revolves around the team. There are organizations like the Riot made up of thousands of fans. Riding into CLT for Christmas to see family and seeing every building lit up to that beautiful shade of blue after we won our second game of the season ignites a sense of pride in my city. Even if we lose 15 games this year, this is my team. 30 years of history may not be significant when compared to other franchises but it’s not like this team was minted yesterday. You’re suggesting we trash all that because you hate Tepper so much you’d rather gamble with something that could never happen or be another version of awful. I’ll stick with the team I love and one day in the not so distant future Tepper won’t be around any more. But I hope to be and my kids and maybe their kids will be too. And we can cherish the team that I grew up with.

If Tepper leaves it’s a fresh start regardless. We lose more than we gain with the team moved. No guarantee for an expansion. Different branding. All your memorabilia is useless. Tradition out the window. We might not have much of a culture of winning in the Carolinas but team identity has many roots. Doesn’t make sense to chop it all down.

He’s had one game this season in which he’s looked like an NFL QB. Not the #1 overall pick. Simply a QB who can play in the NFL. Writing is on the wall.

Why is everyone obsessed with moving the team? Wish for the dude to sell or go full sexual misconduct or something of that magnitude.

It wasn’t just about visual. Some guys just have that dog mentality even when they’re quiet. DJ came across as a passive guy to me. Not diminishing his talent.

I had no problem with the DJ trade barring we actually got our value which we didn’t. I don’t want to say Moore wasn’t trying in his time here but he’s definitely shown more dog in Chicago than he ever had here. Always felt like he disappeared when things got tough. Outside of the helmet gate TD he was always a passive dude in his time in Carolina.

Tepp isn’t going anywhere. It’s all about the $$$ and he has too much of it. We’re stuck with him until he takes a dirt nap or if they can prove this was a hate crime.

Bryce “haters” were apparently quiet last week. I think they’ll reappear with volume today.

They haven’t brought back Hurney for round 3 yet so that’d be premature.

That’s fair. As long as we are differentiating. I was called all sorts of things for pointing out legitimate concerns through the preseason and first couple of games. My concerns have been mostly validated so far. So I’m a little sensitive when it comes to these topics.

Well Bryce hasn’t exactly had a decent game until this week. So it’s less about rooting against the team and more about being objective. That’s how I feel anyway. Did I want CJ? Absolutely. Did I say Bryce looks like Teddy after game 1? Yes, because he did. Doesn’t mean I am rooting against him though. If he doesn’t succeed then we fail. Why would any fan want that for the sake of saying I told you so? I sure as hell wouldn’t.
