I also concur we aren’t far from a playoff push. QB and HC are top priorities for sure. Hope they can make it work where we still have enough assets to fill some other positions. Likewise, sir.

I think its definition rests with what we have to offer. Before the CMC trade we had nothing. We still have little after the trade and we have several positions of need including TE, RB, O line depth, pass rusher to compliment Burns, WR1-2, etc. Don’t think it’s a good move.

No one who watched Panther football last year considers Luvu a “big surprise.” Dude is a baller.

If there are 4 QBs projected in the top 10 and you are sitting at pick 8 and elect to trade up for one of them then that is the definition of a reach. No way in hell that all 4 go in the first 7 picks, especially when the 1st pick just drafted their franchise guy the year before.

Your first paragraph actually galvanizes my point. If the eagles were already a good team and they continue to do well with a QB drafted outside of the 1st then technically they didn’t need a first round QB to be successful. Carson Wentz, a first round QB, hasn’t exactly been elite. The Eagles had a tremendous offense in 2022 without him. I never suggested needing to buy another team’s QB, nor did I advise against drafting a 1st round QB. I said we shouldn’t reach for one in the top 5.

OP raises a great point. 8-6 is hardly an overwhelming majority. I think the big take away is that while 1st round QBs have slightly better success this year than non1st rounders strictly speaking in relation to making the playoffs, we certainly don’t need to sell the farm to get one in the top 5. We have a top 10 pick. See where the chips fall and don’t break the bank.

Some of us preached it was much less about his knack for injury and much more about his utilization. The fact that he went the first 3 seasons without injury is astounding. Happy for the guy as he’s with a franchise who can actually utilize him and hope he gets a shot at a Lombardi.

Some of us are less shocked

They’d be smart to hold Corbett for the first few weeks to get him past the 9 month mark. Studies show risk of 2nd ACL injury can be reduced if return to sport is greater than 9 months.

For anyone wondering, current evidence has patients returning from ACL reconstruction post-9 months for optimizing injury prevention for second ACL injury in either the same or contralateral knee. This lines up closely with the 2023 regular season, so hopefully he won’t miss much time .
