I'm sure they wanted to see it. I said earlier this year it wouldn't be pretty without him. Though overall I wasn't opposed to a trade if the package was great, simply because the Panthers need a quarterback that bad.

Listen, now I know Sam has had 4 years with literally being the worst quarterback in the league, but you have to see past that. What you have to do is take this 4 game stretch playing awful teams, breaking franchise rushing records, and then extrapolate that out. Now, if you do that you have a solid year, almost Teddy Bridgewater like statistically.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think they were expecting run.
