    Don't worry guys. I'm sure there's some real gems the Panthers can find in free agency to fill the gaps. I'm sure there's several guys just jumping at the chance to bet their career years on the Carolina Panthers. You guys better hope to hell that Dan Morgan is some draft savant, because there's no way out without immaculate drafting.

    At this point I don't doubt it. However, I don't think this is how a team should be re-built. The process works if you can maintain a mix of veterans with talent and draft well. Moving on from every player that has an ounce of talent for draft picks and overpaid free agents isn't going to do anything but put the team in a further hole. Except this time the new front office will has nothing but sunk-cost to work with. A dangerous thing that we've seen happen with other teams.

    It's a tossup. The EDGE group is non-existent, the WR group is awful, the tight-ends are a joke, the secondary a single player being injured from being cast-offs and undrafted free agents, the linebacker group is made of one old injured guy and who-da-fugs, oh and the offensive line is still trash.

    Maybe we can draft a new Yetur or Kony Ealy with the shiny new second round pick we acquired.

    Luvu and Burns accounted for most of the Panthers pass rush outside of Brown. Yetur wasn't good, but he was supplemental and somewhat developing. I expect Brown to look very poor next year and Panthers fans calling to trade him instead of pay him.

    Never liked him, never liked the pick, but got damn this isn't good after Burns was shipped off. This might be an all-time awful pass rush.

    It's pure copium. The Panthers were obviously trying to resign Burns but he decided he wanted out.

    And it doesn't move the needle. Even if Bryce has all day to throw, which this guard doesn't guarantee as the Panthers are still weak at Left Tackle, Left Guard, and Center, he needs players to throw to and an offensive system that can score points in bunches to overcome a massive deficit on defense. Which is historically not something you see often.

    Please someone, anyone, give me free agent names you want the Panthers to target and sign with the Burns money. PLEASE, ANYONE? No? No one going to throw out some names and numbers?

    Really? Who, I want names, as this seems to be the group-think thought process. Who are the Panthers targeting to replace Burns? How much do you think the contract will be? Reality is going to hit some of you hard this season. The cap space is going to disappear over-paying free agents to prop-up Bryce and the team as a whole is going to flounder.

    It's going to fun watching the Panthers the next few seasons. How many guys you think we go through to find another Burns? I'm guessing about 8, in form of draft picks and bad free agent signings. Here's to a team total 17 sacks next season, and probably the season after.

    You guys are suffering from serious recency bias and group think. The league can see that Burns is still talented. A down year, on a train wreck of team that's been yanking him around with trades and contract negotiations. No poo he didn't produce on a team that almost never had a lead in a game. If Burns is even mediocre good then his contract is worth it. I don't know how to explain this to some of y'all but pass-rushers are a premium position, that you need to get to a Super Bowl. I cannot think of team that made it there that didn't have a pass-rush. I mean, hell, just use your brains and tell me what years the Panthers were at their best, and then tell me what their pass-rush looked like. Having JAGs and late round picks playing defensive end means you're not a winning team. Here's to all the 2nd round defensive end busts the Panthers have drafted.
