  1. Are we talking starter level player or pro-bowler? I read one article has has picks 31-40 having a 24% chance to net a pro-bowl level player. After that it drops to about 16-18% for 40-70. Either way, I want the Panthers to take the best player available and only consider trade backs if their board does not match the value of their pick. It's just a poor strategy to go into the draft with the attitude of acquiring picks instead of talented players.
  2. It's their choice to get 150 million to two guards. They're not bad guards and I understand how it will hopefully help Bryce develop. However, last I checked the Panthers still have 25 million in cap space, even after those monster paydays.

  4. Same-same. Saving on Burns is nice, but using that money to sign a pile of JAGs to do worse isn't much of a plan unless they are tanking.
  5. The Panthers went 2-14 and are getting worse on defense. I don't think we have to worry about going 6-11 unless Bryce Young has an extraordinary turn around. Which if happens then the team will immediately start making moves to win in 2025.
  6. Well, then just say we're tanking, we're trying to be a bad team for asset acquisition.
  7. Yeah, that's kind of the where the Panthers are at. It really gives these mediocre JAGs a lot of leverage.
  8. Sure, if you want a warm body. Mix and match and compare PFF grades to make everyone feel better about it too. PFF rated Chase Young higher than Burns pretty much every year despite him producing half as much statistically and two teams pushing him out the door as fast as they could. All that's going to really matter is when the season starts were the Panthers able to replace the pass-rush, and overall production, of Burns, Luvu, and Jackson. If not then the defense is going to be worse than a team that went 2-15.
  9. Yeah, but that's as a situational pass rusher. As the Vikings article stated he's not best used as a starter, but as the third option.
  10. Yeah, the Giants felt otherwise. Anyway, the Panthers now have a chance to sign guys with half or less of Burns production per year. So, I wonder what fans will say about these players if they consider Burns to not be an impact player? A net-negative player?
  11. Surely the Panthers can hit this time at wide receiver in the second round. God I hope.
  12. He's definitely a good run defender, watching his highlights.
  13. Looks like Luvu was a better pass-rusher and younger, but Josey can still tackle well.
  14. I'm going to be seriously sad if he turns it on for the Commies.
  15. Oof. I was hoping we would put him at linebacker this year. I felt like both Luvu and Chinn were 'dogs'. Who's left?

  17. We haven't signed a pass-rusher yet and this guy's advanced stats are looking poor from what I've read. He's produced an okay amount of sacks, but with poor pressure rates. That usually means he's just another guy producing off the players he's surrounded by.
  18. I mean, except a team traded picks and gave burns a 30 million a year contract. Reality hurts.
  19. Vikings fan are somewhat excited at the prospect of acquiring compensation picks. From what I've read he's poor against the run and his sacks aren't matching up to his low pressure rate. Anyone have his full PFF stats?
  20. Guys, Brian Burns and Chase Young are not comparable. You can take Young's sacks and tackles and double them and not get to the numbers that Burns produced with just one year more in the league. Chase Young is living off his name and college production at this point. He has done nothing to note while in the league.
  21. It's a good move, but until the Panthers figure out how they're going to field a pass-defense and pass-rush I don't know if it moves the needle much. Teams are going to have all day to throw and guys open across the field.
  22. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. You can't make free agents come to your team. You have to have something to offer them. The Panthers have almost nothing on defense that would attract a young player in their career years. This isn't Madden. Players don't come to dumpster fire teams that will send their career in a down trajectory just to earn a million more per year. It's going to take a massive overpay to even somewhat attract free agents.
  23. They had to throw him something. He's working with next to nothing at the moment.
