  1. No, you're right about that. The Panthers didn't know anything other than use and abuse. He needed to be worked into an offense that used his game breaking aspects to the fullest, without force feeding him every possible snap. This trade honestly probably honestly gives Christian a real shot at a full, healthy career. One where he'll still be very productive, if not more productive since he won't be missing as many games.
  2. This is who I want after reading write ups and checking in with other fanbases.
  3. You're misunderstanding me. I'm not Frank, what I was initially trying to imply was Christian does not move the team's needle. At the end of the day we weren't winning with him and even after he left ground production improved without him. It's just the nature of running backs.
  4. Yeah, you're not getting it. I'm not holding Chrisitan responsible. I'm saying that him being on the team does not move the needle. It didn't. A quarterback bad or good always moves the needle.
  5. Yeah, it's called positional value. A quarterback is the most important position in sports, with the NFL ensuring that year by year with their rule changes. On the other hand, running back is one of the most devalued positions in the last 30 years. To the point where teams are generally picking up late round prospects and undrafted free agents for their Super Bowl runs. Running back's production is readily replaced. It is what it is.
  6. And again, McCaffrey despite breaking records, did not add to the win total. Cam Newton inarguably did, making the team relevant and willing us to a Super Bowl.
  7. It's not because of McCaffrey, but at the end of the day the team wasn't winning when he was here. McCaffrey is great at breaking records, but he's expensive and his ground production readily replaced.
  8. You misunderstand me. What I'm saying is that's exactly what people do, when you're the face of the franchise. Several people here hated Cam and made every loss his alone. Though speaking of our former MVP quarterback, I would much rather go back to those years. Winning division titles, making it to a Super Bowl, having a chance in every game. Those were some of the best years to be a Panther's fan. On the other hand, we have for the past five years been in the worst stretch in in this team's history.
  9. Yeah, that and we haven't had a quarterback, so who else would it be?
  10. He was considered the 'face of the franchise' at the time. It kind of comes with the territory.
  11. That's true, but it is what it is. We didn't really win with Christian here and at the end of the day his ground production was readily replaced with cast-offs. It's just the modern NFL. Runningbacks are a dime a dozen because of it.
  12. Yeah, in a year where he was described by this fanbase as a slot receiver, since he was doing so poorly at runningback.
  13. I thought we were talking about when he played for the Panthers. Though certainly having the easiest schedule in the league does help with getting into the playoffs.
  14. More of hopes than a prediction, but Ben Johnson & C.J. Stroud. I think Houston will trade up to the first pick to block Indianapolis from choosing their favored quarterback. From there Chicago will trade out again, hopefully to the Panthers. I believe Young will most likely go first overall, leaving Stroud to whomever makes the trade.
  15. How could anyone seriously beat out Geno this year?
  16. Yeah, I meant to say top 10. Though I guess there's an outside shot that someone covets him.
  17. He needs a good combine and interviews. However, if he does well, he should definitely go top 10.
  18. Yeah, I don't know. This seems a bit odd for this to be stated. Talking to your wife about work, getting input, sure. Stating this though?
  19. They actually have Walker rated higher than Darnold. I guess they're seeing a lot of things on tape that aren't necessarily apparent in the game, or there counting a lot of those dangerous throws Darnold made to defensive backs and were batted down by receivers.
  20. It probably doesn't mean anything. A lot of people get there starts, or career opportunities, through family connections and careers. She's just working an industry that her family is already invested in. It's not really that odd if you think about it that way.
  21. Derrick Brown had a career year. I wonder if he turned it around or was Rhule holding him back?
