  1. It would still be an awful team, but then the Ravens will probably take a shot at moving up to first overall.
  2. I think it depends on who you ask within the front office, as far as desperation. I feel like Coach Reich is obviously safe, but if Scott doesn't find a quarterback this off-season I would imagine he would be on the hotseat. At the same time Tepper has been feeling the heat from fans since Cam was kicked to the curb, if that matters at all. This along with changes within the division this off-season could mean the Panthers are in position where they feel it's a do-or-die as far as quarterback. So, by that, I mean free agents and trade scenarios. The team is really built to win now, but needs a quarterback. Now that Carr is with the Saints, that puts more pressure on the Panthers to find their guy. There's actually a nightmare scenario now where Lamar Jackson could end up in Atlanta, and at the same time giving the Ravens ammo to take the first overall pick from the Bears. If this happens it will create a tense situation for the Panthers where the third overall pick will cost more than currently speculated. It's a game of musical chairs at quarterback this off-season, and some teams will not end up with a chair.
  3. Pretty much. It's what the team needs. The coaching staff was designed to develop a quarterback, one way or another.
  4. I get it. He basically was saying what pretty much everyone has said regarding the Panthers. They'll either sign a free agent or draft a quarterback.
  5. Okay, new guy was wrong, happens.
  6. Because it's interesting. A lot of people claim to have sources and usually they get laughed at. A random no name account with hardly any posts and they're a soothsayer that's worth defending?
  7. As much as I didn't want Carr. I wouldn't go as far as saying it's an overpay. The market is what it is, and quarterbacks are seemingly getting rarer with the big names retiring. If you believe in one, you pay them. Especially with the ever expanding cap, which can be manipulated.
  8. I mean, I agree, he's not worth it. Though letting your division rival acquire your Plan A at quarterback, in a wide open division, after years of not being competitive because of deficiency at the position? It doesn't seem like a market contract would be the hold up if the Panthers truly coveted Carr.
  9. Alright, so the big insider @Leaky_Faucet predicted we would kick the tires then. The Plan A comment wasn't really what they intended it to mean. The Panthers weren't as interested as other teams, and only 'kicked the tires' as widely reported by pretty much everyone. Who is @Leaky_Faucet's main account then? Because no one here would care about these half-hearted predictions if they weren't somebody that's in the clique.
  10. Plan A money, but from the Saints.
  11. He said that Carr was plan A in another post. If they walked it a bit back after, I didn't read that post.
  12. The Jets were fence sitting because of Rodgers. They said as much. We were reportedly not interested at all with Rodgers.
  13. So, who is Leaky_Facet's main account?
  14. Of course, it makes sense. It also makes sense that if the Panthers were really interested they would have made a trade offer, or alternatively brought him to town if they were serious.
  15. He does, if a team doesn't trade for him, sure. He just wanted to be a Saint.
  16. I wonder who there main is. There's a reason posters here are going to bat for them.
  17. No, no, I get it now. The Panthers wanted Carr so much, that they lost out to a team with major holes, that's cap strapped, and doesn't have much in the way of draft capital. They also didn't throw a trade offer before free agency as well. Definitely Plan A, definitely.
  18. Okay, okay. I get it. Carr was the Panthers plan A, and they let him go to the Saints. Makes sense.
  19. We were so interested we let him go to our division rival. If he was a Jet right now I would be more inclined to believe it.
  20. Just the yearly cycle of Carolina Huddle insider makes predictions, gets it wrong, disappears.
  21. So, who is @Leaky_Faucet then? What is their main account. Why is it this random account is trusted here with you guys? Even though they're wrong?
  22. I mean, let's say it was only David Newton. He was still right.
  23. Okay, so he was 'right' because he didn't say anything and read tea leaves from actual reporters.
  24. We had real reporters saying we were just kicking the tires, everyone knew that.
