    Sports is a cyclical business and winning relies on elite talent at the QB position. You cant construct a SB team just because you want to. It takes patience and a lot of luck. Yes, you have to put the right people in charge, but even then things may not bounce your way.

    There was VERY little coverage of the team during camp. It was like the panthers media went out of there way to not talk about Darnold. There are threads about it somewhere. I think they knew two weeks into camp that he had serious issues that couldn’t be corrected.

    The brass knew. It’s why there was so much talk about tension in the draft room. The O staff were pissed we passed on so many O linemen.

    If Tepper starts making impulsive decisions based on ‘in the moment’ emotions, this org is sunk forever. We have an elite level D but made some bad decisions on the other side of the ball. The team needs patience and a dose of reality. Consistent winners don’t come from owners and staff that are new to the nfl. Tepper should have a 10 year outlook, not 2-5.

    We were in QB purgatory as soon as Cam got hurt. Cap hell would be a good outcome because it means those guys chose to stay. Most of them could opt to bail.

    He has the “tools” and ego driven coaches love that stuff because they want to think THEY can be the reason someone becomes great.

    LOL…. Those two things are actually very hard. That’s why those positions make so much money. you can’t just go out and get a quality vet QB just because you want one. We tried and failed this past off-season. Same with drafting OL. More busts than wins in this area on average across the league.

    This is not the year for a QB. We need to be boring and start building the OL.

    The Panthers were finalizing a deal for Stafford when he basically said no and got LA to boost their offer. However, what if he was our QB right now. What do you think our record would be with this defense? Even with this Oline I think we’d make the playoffs. Would your opinion of Tepper Rhule and Fitts be different if their efforts to get Stafford succeeded?

    I think his injury has more to do with a massive human putting a ton of strain and force on very small bones.

    So you want to sign Cam in Nov? Then what? Cut him again in the off season? Draft his replacement and make him play backup. Sounds like total chaos.

    Watson isn’t moving until his legal issues are behind him and teams have a chance to sit down with him and hear him out. This means the price may go up but no team is going to take a chance considering he could face some jail time.

    Hornets are set to eclipse the Canes. Could very well win a championship in the next 4 years.
