  1. People’s perceptions are so funny. The Charlotte metro area has 400k more people than the Vegas metro area.
  2. I know, but these young OC’s have time to wait for the right opportunity if they want. Most only get one shot. Maybe they feel like waiting for the chargers job next year is a better idea.
  3. Look at the situation from their side. You can’t succeed without a QB. Anyone who takes this job will live or die by the QB they pick this spring. The chance for success is low and Tepper’s expectations are high.
  4. I’m sure they are, and that should be punished when proven. Either way, kids will make decisions based on how much they can get. They will go somewhere else if a deal falls through or something Better pops ups. As soon as they introduced money into the equation, it was always going to be about the money. Even if players can’t sign deals until after they join the team, kids will still choose schools with the reputation of boosters giving big deals. A pay for play system is always going to be here in some form. There is no way you can get these young kids from poor backgrounds to not prioritize that.
  5. What’s shady about it? The school isn’t doing it. Boosters are allowed to offer NIL deals. Students will naturally make decisions based on those offers. If that offer goes away, the student will naturally look elsewhere. Yes, all of these ‘students’ are now for sale. When so many of these kids come from disadvantaged backgrounds, money will always be the main thing.
  6. She’s co-owner of the team. Of course she is going to be part of this. That happens on every team. Half the Walton family just met with Russell Wilson to tell him to be a better teammate. Team owners always have their say.
  7. Doesn’t have to be one guy. What if some corp thinks it would be great if all the starters on a natty winning team repped their stuff? They pick a school, giv’em $100 mill, and buy the best team money can buy. Going a step further, players could band together and sell their services as a group. The possibilities are endless.
  8. Well, we’d still have Hurney if the old man were still here. Hurney and practicing in ballrooms when it rains.
  9. It not a bribe. They are HIRING these kids. This is a business for these kids now. College is a pro-league.
  10. Sean should just take another year off and come back when there is a better opening. None of these teams can give him what he wants. Take the chargers job next year.
  11. I can’t wait until some ‘3rd tier’ school somewhere saves booster money for 10 years and then cashes it all in at once for all the top recruits.
  12. The decision making from the broncos and panthers has been pretty bad the past few years. Not sure it’s a great sign that we are both after the same guy.
  13. Feels like the Watson race all over again.
  14. Yeah, from what I heard Daboll did the heavy lifting developing Allen. Allen has not progressed under Dorsey.
  15. If he wasn’t on our staff, would we want to interview him? Nope.
  16. If Wilks wasn’t the interim coach, we wouldn’t even give him an interview.
  17. We need a guy who can develop a young QB. That’s not who Wilks is.
  18. I can see both sides of it. Denver has money, a great defense, and a Super Bowl winning QB that needs a better system. We have an ok defense, a great OL, a weak division, cap space, and the ability for him to get any QB he wants (similar to when he took the saints job). I think he wants money PLUS legacy. He wants another ring to cement himself as one of the best and he wants a team that will get him there soon. If you believe the rumors that he had a falling out with Saints ownership, then maybe he wants to be in this division.
  19. Then Payton knows he got all he can out of Denver and accepts their job. He knows how bad Tepper wants him so it’s a good play to TRY and get a bidding war going between those two teams.
  20. He can come back Friday and say ‘Tepper offered this much. Can you match it?’ Basic job salary negotiation.
