    Fit said they offered CHI more picks but they would only do the deal if they could get a player.

    LA offered a 2024 and a 2025 1st. It wasn’t for this past draft.

    So they got really lucky? No, because our depth is trash and that would guarantee us 1-2 terrible seasons until we claim those picks. I WOULD have traded him for 2 first rounders and a 2nd this past draft though.

    What’s the end game here? He holds out a few games until finally caving? If he holds out all year, he loses $16 mill and his 5th year contract just starts over next year. Maybe we get a second shot at trading him? I think he knows he has to play eventually so he will play on Sunday.

    If that’s true, then Burns needs to test the open market.

    I’d love to know what the hold up really is. Does he want 30/yr or does he just want a ton of guaranteed money? I don’t want a guy who’s contract will make this team less competitive for the next 4-5 years. If the gap is small, Fitt just needs to bite the bullet.

    I don’t know if they gave him false hope. They liked him but wanted to see who else was out there. I think that was made clear. Regardless, Wilks with Holcomb and whoever else at OC was not the best plan for developing a rookie QB. Frank came in with specific names of coordinators he’d bring in (according to Fitt) which ultimately is what won him the job.

    It doesn’t mean any of that. It just means we didn’t want to trade away our best and only pass rusher in the middle of the season. He still has the option to test the open market. Also, future picks are valued less than picks for the current year. In terms of value, they really offered two 2nds and a 3rd.

    Neither Fitt nor Frank have until 2026 to see if those picks pan out.

    Drives me nuts some don’t understand this. Fitt would almost be guaranteeing a losing season this year. Also, just because a trade offer is declined, it doesn’t mean it’s a signal that player gets whatever they want. It just means the org doesn’t want to make the trade and wants a shot a working a longer deal. Both sides still need to be reasonable.

    I’m pretty sure that’s what we have on the practice fields. I know it’s a hybrid turf of some kind.

    The trade was for 24 and 25 first rounders. That means we would have zero pass rush until those replacements are drafted and have a season or two under their belt. That’s a long time to wait for that payoff. Picks always look great until the picks turn into players.

    Frank is having his presser now. Says Burns sat out again today and confirms it’s contract related. Says he hopes Burns is there for the game but may not be.

    Not a huge deal. None of the receivers in that breakdown are still with the team. Edit: With the exception of Tremble and Zavala, none of the players in that entire video are still with the team. Feels like Im not even watching the panthers.

    Forbes said they arrived at those numbers by looking at how much each franchise earns in revenue and profit before taxes. It did not factor in real estate holdings.
