Panthers confirmed to be in Stafford discussion
Tbe replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
He’s not coming here. I’m glad we’re being aggressive but we’re just being used to drive the price up. -
Starkey didn’t last long. How hard can it be to do marketing for a nfl team?
-
I know the Texans aren’t smart, but they should do this now before some of these teams start falling in love with QBs or other players in the draft. That could change the calculus for a lot of orgs. Honestly though, there is no way they are ok with the leader of their team dragging down the entire locker room next season. They could end up losing a lot more than just Deshaun. Its over and they know it.

Matt Rhule continues to show why he's the right guy for the Panthers
Tbe replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
I know! They usually devolve into blaming the president or ex-president for our poor QB play. -

The ‘casuals’ are not happy about it. You can see it in a lot of comments on the panthers FB page. -
Deshaun WATSON Officially Requests Trade from Texans
Tbe replied to ncstatekwi's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don’t know if this has been said or not, but Watson’s people are saying they did NOT leak this info. It came from the team. -
Todd McShay is CONVINCED we will move on from Teddy
Tbe replied to JABANOG's topic in Carolina Panthers
I was convinced we were moving on from TB when we signed TB. It was clear he was a temp. -
Not many orgs are so quick and willing to admit mistakes and move on from their big off-season acquisitions. It’s clear Rhule will move on from a guy fast if he isn’t performing. Regardless of who that person is. That bodes well for the future.

Rooney doesn’t like change I guess.

Deshaun WATSON Officially Requests Trade from Texans
Tbe replied to ncstatekwi's topic in Carolina Panthers
Deshaun has to know that his contract PLUS losing years of top picks will tank his chances of near term success on a new team. If I’m him, I pick one team and say I’m only going there. That should lower the price to a more reasonable level and allow his new team to build around him. -
Yep, a lot of QB churn with no results. I don’t see how any team can ‘out-offense’ the current chiefs roster. The only viable strategy may be building a D that can stop them. That would be one hell of a defense though. How do you out do what the 49ers had last year....
-
yep It’s the Mahomes effect too. Teams are seeing the big gulf between his play (and Rodgers + Wilson) and their own QBs. If a guy isn’t playing at that level, teams aren’t going to be satisfied.
-
I think he meant to say we have one OL under contract and need to buy in bulk there.
-
All it takes is trading up twice to have sunk 3-4 first rounders into a QB.
-
I see it the same way. QB purgatory is real and can last DECADES. What would you pay to avoid that? We could use our 1st this year on a guy who is more likely to bust than not. Next year we will prob use our 1st and maybe give up a future first to trade up for another rookie QB who could also bust. 3 firsts is not a crazy price given that we know Watson is an elite QB. I honestly see Carolina spending 3-4 first round picks over the next 5-7 years trying to find someone like Watson. Even after spending that kind of capital, it’s still a low chance we’ll find someone like that.
-
If he gets injured a lot at 20-21, he doesn’t stand a chance at 25-27 (with a longer nfl season). Sounds like he isn’t worth any pick.
-
Stafford wants to go to a real contender. He’ll be a colt or 49er. We really aren’t in the convo except to drive the price up.
-
Yeah, Rhule said you want a young QB to have mobility. It helps them extend plays since their processing is slower. Older guys can get away with not being mobile since they process so quickly. tldr; goodbye Trask and Jones.
