  1. I think we’ll target Levis and trade up with Arizona. Edit: Arizona’s draft slot jumped since I last saw it. We could get stroud if we work a deal with them. Also, Young could fall pretty far because of his size. I don’t think he’s a lock in the top 5 at all.
  2. Lol….Well I guess that’s all that matters (cherry picked stat). Ill still take Mahomes over Cousins.
  3. Let’s be honest…Aside from Hurts, those AFC QB’s are miles better than the NFC QBs.
  4. There was plenty there, they just chose to let it slide. From the NYTimes: CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — The N.C.A.A. did not dispute that the University of North Carolina was guilty of running one of the worst academic fraud schemes in college sports history, involving fake classes that enabled dozens of athletes to gain and maintain their eligibility. But there will be no penalties, the organization said, because no rules were broken. In a ruling that caused head-scratching everywhere except Chapel Hill, the N.C.A.A. announced on Friday that it could not punish the university or its athletics program because the “paper” classes were not available exclusively to athletes. Other students at North Carolina had access to the fraudulent classes, too.
  5. This dude has so many red flags. Why do we want another ego maniac college coach again? We just had one of those.
  6. I know, but it makes a difference when people see it happen. The emotional impact of seeing something happen vs just hearing about is night and day. We’ve all had those ‘you had to be there’ experiences.
  7. It was obviously a ref saying it. There was no one else down there at the time with the authority to say something like that. Not a big deal. Those refs didn’t have the power to cancel the game so they probably thought they didn’t have a choice.
  8. Yeah, they should push the playoffs back a week or just void the game and figure out playoff seeding a different way.
  9. Yeah, it was just the refs following their procedures. I seriously doubt Roger was calling down to the field.
  10. That was most likely the officiating crew going through their own procedures. Not great obviously, but I can understand those guys not knowing what to do. No one on that field had the ability to officially make that call to cancel things. I imagine everyone wanted to do the right thing but just didn’t know what that was immediately.
  11. Me too. I expect it at some point. I hope it isn’t today. I remember hearing a story from decades ago where a HS player died instantly on the field, and the medics pretended to do CPR etc because they didn’t want the crowd to know they saw someone die. Always wondered what the NFL would do.
  12. CPR for 9 minutes is really bad. BUT, if he was coding you would think they would rush him out asap.
  13. Odds are good that Wilks gets the job and Darnold starts next year.
  14. https://www.panthers.com/news/al-holcomb-dj-moore-brian-burns-coaching-philosophy When he took over as interim head coach, Wilks promoted Holcomb, who started this season as an assistant head coach on defense. It reunited the duo as head coach and defensive play-caller; in 2018, Wilks and Holcomb were a head coach-defensive coordinator duo for one season with the Cardinals. Thursday, in his first press conference since his promotion, Holcomb reflected on his relationship with Wilks and their similar styles. The two have frequently worked together since they met here in 2013 when Holcomb started as linebackers coach and Wilks was a second-year defensive backs coach under Ron Rivera. Before heading to Arizona, they contributed to the Panthers' defensive game plans together from 2013-17. After the 2018 Cardinals stint, they went to Cleveland, where Wilks worked as defensive coordinator and Holcomb as linebackers coach in 2019. Holcomb said "they hit off right away" upon meeting, sharing similar philosophies in everything from how they coach players to attention to detail, preparation, and staff decisions. "It's been a good journey," Holcomb said. "I think it's been the last eight, nine, 10 years or something like that. We've become pretty close."
  15. Drainage isn’t the issue. Everything just froze and became very hard.
  16. It’s hard to know what to think. Some of it might be that this team is still very young and learning how to win for the first time. Two years of Rhule certainly didnt help them. They won in Seattle, fell back on bad habits and got stomped by the Steelers, prepped hard again and got a win.
  17. I fear Tepper will go with a ‘safe’ option to avoid another embarrassment.
  18. It was bankruptcy court. They ‘sued’ to have a claim in the bankruptcy. “YORK COUNTY, S.C. — A federal judge approved a bankruptcy settlement of about $100 million Friday All sides agreed to drop their current lawsuits and not file any other claims as part of the deal approved Friday by federal bankruptcy court Judge Karen Owens.“ The settlement was in regards to who will get paid from the available funds. The bankruptcy is now over and all civil suits are dropped.
