  1. We’ve been following Dan’s long game strategy for the past 3 years. Look how many of our ‘development’ guys just walked in FA. The idea of developing raw talent doesn’t ever seem to work in the NFL. Rookie contracts are short, playing time scarce, and staff turnover is high.
  2. I don’t see evidence he’s THAT heavy handed. This seems like a process Dan and Fitt created together with the scouts based on their own preferences. One thing is for sure. It’s definitely not coming from the coaches.
  3. Decision maker is just one part of it. The entire process is the same. From RAS scores to chasing specific players. Really discouraging that Dan still thinks this approach works.
  4. Yes I do. It’s pretty clear Tepper was having trouble attracting guys to come here. He hired two guys who had ZERO interviews with other teams. I think Dan was probably pro Stroud, willing to put up with Dave, and that was enough. Dan and Fitt are best friends. They are huge influences on each other.
  5. He was the assistant GM and the GM’s best friend…
  6. Average Backup Or Special-Teamer Strengths Explosive athlete. Rangy with good chase-down gallop to the sideline. Burst and change of direction make him a toolsy rusher. Hands are very sticky when he gets his chances to take the ball away. Lateral agility to expand his short-area tackle success. Weaknesses Play recognition and football instincts are lacking. Frequently fooled by misdirection in both run and pass games. Lacks patience and leverage in his scrape, allowing cutback lanes to runners. Pulled out of position by bait routes in his spot drops. Pass rush could use more elusiveness when diving into A- or B-gaps.
  7. You really don’t remember the narrative before last season? The dream team staff? Thielen and Chark hype? Our shiny new RB? Id say our line is better this year but it’s not a rock solid line and we still only have one proven WR who isn’t old and slow.
  8. It’s not about who’s available…. Its about who they are targeting. This FO doesn’t play the draft. They have a shopping list. So who do we know they like?
  9. Not ready to say that yet. He was ‘setup for success’ last year too, and we see how that went.
  10. My guess is they plan to move one of the new guards to center in that situation.
  11. I like the idea of getting the best player in the draft at a position. However, he said he *might* be ready to go by training camp. For a rookie, that’s not what you want to hear if you need a starter.
  12. Lol…we’ll need that 2nd rounder to replace the one we’re about the draft.
  13. I understood two words in that entire press conference.
  14. I see it. To me he is more like a girls soccer coach.
  15. This team once again got tunnel vision on one guy. This might be my biggest issue with the trade. It points to the same behavior that led us to drafting the fewest prospects in the league over the past 3 years. They need to let the draft come to them and stop chasing ‘their guys’.
  16. Yeah, I heard the team with the 33rd pick really liked him.
  17. No doubt Tepper is/was involved, but the idea that Dan hasn’t been heavily involved the past few years is crazy. Fitt wasn’t doing all this on his own. Minus Fitt, this is the same crew.
  18. I can see that, but that restaurant has a history of putting up snarky signs aimed at Tepper. Could be either.
  19. Yeah, the dude said he saw it all go down. Who knows. need video.
  20. The odds of that front office still being there when Penix is ready is so low. Crap situation for him.
  21. This draft = QBs and protecting the QBs
  22. We need great talent anywhere we can get it. Im ok with D if someone really good falls.
  23. Not any blue chip talent on D this year.
