He sure liked Robbie in that game.

Are coaches allowed to talk football with players right now?
-
This staff is all about teaching and developing players. Their words, not mine. Teaching is supposedly a core strength of theirs and why I’ve been excited to bring them in. Obviously, developing QBs is job #1 for any staff, so Sam is going to be a huge coaching priority for them. I don’t expect them to turn Sam into an elite QB, but I am interested to see if and how much he improves. The degree to which he improves will tell us a ton about Rhule and Brady’s ability to dev talent. Prediction: If Sam shows no noticeable improvement, Tepper will start to get impatient with Rhule.
-
There’s hope for Sam, but it’s going to take more than one off season to fix three seasons of habits. My fear is him showing enough promise that we keep him several years thinking “he’ll have a big leap forward next year”, but that leap never comes. Sam will at least make me watch this season, but I have a feeling he’s going to be Kyle Allen 2.0.

I think we’d draft Fields if he fell, but I bet we pass on Lance.
-
Might as well put him in the hot seat now. It takes most teams years or decades to find a franchise QB after losing one. Realistically, Rhule will spent his entire tenure here without a top tier QB. That’s not a shot at Rhule, that’s just how it is. Great QBs are extremely hard to get. I can easily see Belichick spending the rest of his nfl career in QB purgatory too.

we were the only ones who wanted sam darnold lol

*IF* Sam can turn things around, it won’t happen in one off season. Hes going to be the same guy this season. Maybe a little improved, but it’s not going to be drastically better. -
This is Darnold’s last shot at a starting job. If he doesn’t work out, no one will blame the coaches. People will just say, ‘expected but worth a shot’.
-
We were in this position the minute it came out that we were super aggressive at going after Stafford. Not much much we could have done. You can’t keep that stuff secret.

Panthers will pick up Sam Darnold 5th year option
Tbe replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
It will only get worse before it gets better. Embrace the suck. -
The progression thing is an unknown. We don’t know how he was coached. His tendency to only throw once a guy is open is also concerning, but that could have been a coaching thing too. That was always a huge weakness for Cam. He converted it up sometimes with his ability to throw fast balls, but it held him back. I do think there is a good chance some team (maybe us) is spreading these doubts about fields in an attempt to lower his draft stock. Personally, I like Fields and think he’s worth a shot.

Bucky Brooks won't be sucked into Mac's meteoric rise
Tbe replied to top dawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
People who know Shanahan say Mac is his ideal QB. I really don’t get it. -
We’re going to pay a ton to keep him.
-
Noticed that too. He noped out of there halfway through.
-
If Fields is actually still on the board at 4, someone will offer them the moon and we wont have a shot. I really think Lance is our only realistic option at QB, but I don’t know if the staff wants him.
-
Fields is going to SF. We have a legit shot at Lance but does our staff WANT Lance?

The custom brackets attached to the four corners of the bed scare me more

Looks like some guy’s weekend party house. Also...that bedroom is disturbing.

They clearly passed on beating the 49ers offer.

PLAYING THE ODDS: An analytical look at the draft
Tbe replied to Panthers Rhule's topic in Carolina Panthers
Good stuff. I’d add that positional value should be factored in though. A good QB is 100x more valuable than a good OL. A good LT is more valuable than a LB. -
Fun Fact: Miami turned Tunsil into 4 first round picks.
Tbe replied to Tbe's topic in Carolina Panthers
Sure, but would could WE do with those picks. That’s what matters. -
The Dolphins turned one player into two first-round picks and two second-round picks this year, two third-round picks in 2022 and two fist-round picks in 2023. That’s how you build a team fast. Who would you trade for something like that?
