To be fair, we tried a partial rebuild but had to trade everything to make up for the mistakes of the partial rebuild.

I can’t find anything that says they are tearing down and building from scratch. What I’m reading is they are expanding the upper deck to seat 8k more people, adding a sunshade, and renovating the concourses. I mean they say they are playing a year in the stadium during the upper deck expansion phase. Do you have a link to better info? But yes, this does seem more expansive that what BofA is doing. “Among plans for the project include installing a canopy to provide shade, rain cover and improved airflow for 100% of observers in outdoor seating; increased air conditioning; doubling the width of the main concourse and creating 360° connectivity on the upper concourse; 16 new escalators and 12 new elevators; 12 new restrooms and renovations and expansions to existing restrooms; and 190 new points of food and beverage sale. Stadium capacity will be flexible, with 63,000+ projected for Jaguars games and the ability to flex 70,000+ for the annual Florida-Georgia game and other major events. The following timeline for the stadium renovations was included in the agreement: Potential final Jacksonville City Council vote: June 25, 2024 NFL owners approval: Oct. 2024 Construction begins: Feb. 2025 2025 season: In Jacksonville with 60K+ stadium capacity 2026 season: In Jacksonville with approximately 43.5K stadium capacity 2027 season: Away from Jacksonville Renovations complete and facility opening: Aug. 2028

Often times “stole the show” just means he sucks but sucks less than everyone else.

These statements don’t really go together. The council is a democratic process. They are elected and people could have come and voiced their opposition. If people don’t want Tepper to get this money, they wouldn’t punish the council for voting against it. He’s getting the money because the people who actually do vote want the team to stay in charlotte. If the council received 10000 calls voicing opposition, they would change their tune. But regular voters don’t really care….at least not enough to send an email. Its a shame, but it’s how it is right now.

No way he lives that long. It will be the Nicole show at that point.

The Carolina Panthers are hurtling towards threats of relocation

My theory is the O staff had so much tunnel vision on the QB that they didn’t fully see the issues with the OL and WR room until it was too late. I think it hit them during the jets practice. Canales at least understands how bad this group was and hopefully has improved it by 20-30% or so.
-
Maybe, but the social media team typically ignores guys when they don’t play well.
-
They have to move on if he’s a trainwreck. They have no other option. The kicker will be if both he and Icky are train wrecks. No good options at that point.

Did you miss Dan turning to T during that jets trade to see if T thinks it’s a good idea? Or all the shots of Dan bouncing ideas off T to get feedback. Or the fact that T sat between Dan and Canales. I get T is the owner, but he gives nothing of value in those discussions. Dan needs better quality input. If you’ve ever worked in corporate, you know how fast people bend to the HIPPO even if that person isn’t really being a jerk about it. Just my observation.

Watch the video from 35min to 37min. Tepper is still clearing giving his input and Dan is clearly looking for his approval…and this is the edited version to make T look good. Given his track record, I don’t like his influence in that room. It may have been a small part of the video, but it was 3 full days of draft time. I don’t mind T being there, but I don’t like how Dan doesn’t seem comfortable making a decision without T giving the nod.

High points: 1) I like the new FA additions. Forgot we added some of those guys. 2) Brandt Tilis seems like your average huddler. Low points: 1) Dan Morgan seemingly wanting Tepper’s approval for every draft day decisions. 2) Canales saying a potential draft pick is “one of us”.

After what Tepper did the Rock Hill, good luck finding another suburb willing to play ball. -
How the Carolina Panthers found themselves in the worst situation
Tbe replied to philw5289's topic in Carolina Panthers
Navarro was going to have to borrow most of the money to buy the team. Operating capital would probably have been an issue for him. Remember, when teams write big contracts, the entire guaranteed sum of that contract has to go into an escrow account. Ben also made all of his money operating a debt collections business. During Covid, his company filed more debt collection lawsuits than anyone else. Not the look the NFL wants. -
Like when the team discovers the coach’s golden retriever is an amazing QB and takes the team to the playoffs?

When you think about what DC has said about getting the ball out in 2.7 secs, this makes sense. 1st or 2nd read then check down. XL is going to be that check down option a good bit of the time. They need that non-RB option. Someone fast and big. It will take a few years for him to become a route runner if he’s capable of that.

That OL has no depth and a huge question mark at LT. If Ickey stays the same and one of those new guards goes down, it’s last year all over again. We also have one proven WR. That guy is going to get doubled. We need one more WR that can get open in time. Who is that? I hope Brooks comes on strong. We need a better runner.
