  1. Depends. Are we talking a contender with that need or a team picking in the top 10 consistently? Because he is still a WR so that helps very little with the bigger issues the Panthers are facing which also includes a general lack of talent especially on the other side of the ball and cap space. Also he isn't getting traded for 1 pick if he is a true #1 at 24. So how many picks and how do they fill out the roster with out the picks or any cap space? I don't have issues with trades but I'm not interested in seeing them draft a WR early let alone trade for one. Hell I wish they would have done that before trading up for XL.
  2. Johnson was a known character issue, people here willingly avoided it except for a few. Injury seems like a much bigger issue IMO, the NFL is brutal even if he is only 24. An extension only works if he agrees or it's just an expensive 2 year rental. Maybe he wants out of the Jets so bad he doesn't care about winning or getting his biggest possible payday. Once his 5th option is picked up it's as guaranteed as his pay next year so he doesn't have to sign anything if he doesn't want to do so and still hit free agency in 2 years if the team trading for him doesn't have those negotiations locked up before the trade is finalized. Franchise tags being much diminished as they are and all.
  3. There is usually more money in free agency and every agent knows this. It's how we got those 2 OGs last year.
  4. Money talks for sure but he would be likely to make more in free agency. Adding in a chance for being relevant than it's not really close. As for the rest I think that more in the mind of Panthers fans than anymore not selling clicks. No where except entertainment sources are talking about the Panthers.
  5. Being Traded from the Jets to the Panthers seems cruel. Also, what makes anyone in all of this speculation think he would be willing to sign a new contract on another bad team when he is 1 contract year from free agency?
  6. I am completely not interested in looking at WRs or Safeties before the forst 2 rounds. Starting to feel like a trade back might be this year's empty wish. Who would be on the board worth trading up for? Also thinking DT would be more impactfull than any pass rush specialist...even if it's a big need.
  7. Why would they want Dalton? He has so little left and wouldn't solve any of their QB issues for very long if at all.
  8. Morgan is a bad GM and there were people calling it before he proved it. Also he and Frittz worked hand in hand, friends at work and away. Even with the final responsibilities falling on Fritz as the GM, Morgan's work as an AGM was enough to pass on his promotion. The guy traded into the first 1 spot for a WR that wasn't worth a 2nd and then took a RB who will be in year 3 while still hoping to show meaningful playing time. The team also needs to purge free agents he was point on brining in at both positions here the last 2 years. Morgan is a suport guy, not a mastermind. He simply lacks the ability to be a top self GM. It was always obvious but fans get caught up in his player history and gave him way too much slack for the quality of work he did since he left Buffalo. Just like with Frittz, people here called it what it looked like when they were hired and then they proved it. Hell, Morgan is still obsessed with Dawgs lol. Now they have to restructure last years big, overpaid free agent signings just to field a team in 2025. Morgan isn't the same as Fritz in every way but they both suck regardless of any positives they could scrape together.
  9. So another year of the same BS? Cool story. Maybe they are trying to break the record they set last year.
  10. It's been really bad and nothing has really changed regardless of who is making the picks.
  11. Cam was amazing but I will always wish he was pushed as hard as Allen to improve on his passing. Allen took a beating and was forced to improve. Cam was coddled in that way until too late. That's on him a bit and the staff. The KB bs pick to go get it. The bad olines because he was power running game it into working. Just a waste of talent. He was so good even with all of that which will always leave me wondering what he would have looked like if they would have pushed him harder to improve his passing.
  12. I think anyone player could improve that's young and coachable. It's how much. XL hasn't shown much IMO. He seems kind of dim and that's a bad match for a guy that needs to work on the mental side of his game. The body catching is concerning for a possession type reciver. He was just never a good prospect IMO. We will see but I not wasting much hope on him until I see something worth hoping for. Morgan was an AGM on the same team that promoted him so I give zero slack to a guy thst should have already been very familiar with the situation. Again, I think it's his MO at this point and I'm not expecting a hige turnaround. He is still beating his same lame drum from last year. It could happen but I'll take the odds on it not happening. I also think that is his personality. Just keep banging away and it will get better, just like it did when he was a player. I just don't think GM is a good fit for him but he could be a great guy to have in an organization, just not at the top. The guys in the middle were better but they also are not home runs. Solid but not enough talent IMO. Having missed so hard where there was heaps of talent and having to rely on the next level guys isn't a knock on them personally but just coming up short overall. The best rookie was an UDFA who usually sign where they think they have a shot. Every team needs studs and support. They got some solid support in thr mid rounds but none of it looked more than support unless something changes drastically. Hurney wasn't a good GM. His best quality was getting out of the way and letting coaches pick their guys in the first. The more input he had the worst the team was, from contracts to drafting to team building. The team had more success when he was just a facilitator and not pushing to get his guys or do it his way. I just haven't seen anything from Morgan that's more than bearly average.
  13. Last years draft was so bad. Even the better guys lack meaningful talent and the top 2 guys were just really bad picks. It's hard for me to expect them to do a 180 and have an actual good draft at this year.
  14. Moton is the only one that is hard for me on your list because he would have dead cap while also getting rid of a good player. I'm just not sure about an extension either due to his age but then having to replace him. Just let him play next year and focus on that next year. It's hard for me to take 'fixing' the D seriously at this point with Evero still here. Putting money into guys who helped allow the most points ever is also a hard pass for me. They need to try different people and dump a few under contract if theybare seriousnabout improving. This is my lowest point. I don't belive in this build and all I hope for is that this crew doesn't do the quality of work you described Hurney doing.
  15. Just depends on price IMO. Like I said they need a starter on a rookie deal with Ickey looking at his next contract soon. If he takes backup money then cool but if not then next please.
  16. Look at their PFFs for who was more effective. It's close with BC having the edge. It's imperfect but it's what's out there. Second part? No idea. BC has been getting passed over the entire time here, regardless of if he should have or not. Maybe there is something we can't see from the bleachers? Just giving Mays a shot to take the spot because BC is a backup in their minds too? Strengths falling to weaknesses can happen fast in the NFL. One devastating injury away from having less talent and a now bad contract to deal with. Brining in rookies helps balance that a little because their contracts are all easaly eatable after the first round and they give balance to the giant cost of good vet contracts who are also getting older and more vulnerable to injury.
  17. I just see Mays as a slightly less effective BC. He isn't good enough to be the starter IMO and brining in a 2nd round OC, like we should have for years now, will balance the youth the the age that the free agent signings last year made lopsided IMO. Draft a good OC so that unit stays good when an OG goes down, which will happen again in at least spots. No to BC anyways, the contracts last year suggest they need a new and good rookie to be that guy. It would be interesting to see what BC and Mays would take but if it's not backup money then no thank you. Honestly if OC was the only offensive player drafted this year that wouldn't be bad IMO...a day 3 rb or TE being the exception. Keep Z unless someone offered a day 2 pick in my scenario. Tremble is in the category of can you do better? It really shouldn't be hard to improve a smidge at least by looking elsewhere but if not then it also shouldn't be too difficult to bring him back. He is an example of where they should try to improve but not burn bridges at the same time.
  18. Mike Jackson The rest are in the hell no to they better do better range. BC would have to be overpaid and they need to draft a starter at OC which shouldn’t be him, he just isn'tgood enough. Dalton should retire, WTF is the point of a backup if he can't play more than one game before falling apart? If you're doing this list then you should also look at the next category which is dead weight but still under contract in 2025 that should be dumped.
  19. Because this team still stinks and going nowhere. Not one team in the division is actually good yet the hope of turning it around is still hovering near zero. Poor drafting, poor team building, still overpaying the wrong guys and still hiring poorly equals the Panthers. The reality is that Panthers fans that still belive anything is changing for the better are essentially Jets fans now. Bryce is the future is no different then Roger's will get us a SB. If you like that then feast on it but I'm going to continue to laugh at it.
  20. Lol a rookie with a few games gave him a run. Toilet bowl highlights are his highs and yall slurp it up. How's that dookie taste. Maybe next year they will get 6 wins...keep twisting it to make yourself feel better that the Panthers are a loser team going nowhere
  21. Hilarious cope in Pantherland. Bryce gets beat down by a Bucs team with terrible pass defense that couldn't even win 1 game in the wild card round and then bearly wins agaisnt the Falcons in a lame divisional game which somehow solidifies Young as the future. What a sad circlejerk Panther's fandom has evolved into. It's all so embarrassing but at least it's entertaining.
  22. They are both limited physically and can perform when carried by the talent around them but won't be carrying much on their own as a QB. They are more similar than different. Their supporting casts are different for sure. Brock has a better arm & size and Bryce is a better runner, pretty much a wash IMO because neither are good enough to really make a difference in that comparison.
  23. It literally says it pulled away from the pack so yeah it was a stand out compared to the usual level. Same as in SC. Plenty of corporate welfare in America but Tepper has shown his has those issue when he is involved. I have no idea how it looks from the outside but businesses like Walmart and Amazon all do it a little different. The NFL does stadiums and taxes but even their deals are unique from each other. Tepper is now known for bad public deals at this point with the last one not as bad as SC but it certainly wasn't good.
