Lol nope. His best is backup level and hos worst is Andy Dalton who should have retired.

That's us after they extend Bryce so Im not going to laugh until we dodge thst bullet. And they were loaded before they paid their not good enough/injury prone QB

Panthers Sign QB White to roster; Christensen on IR
Waldo replied to ProcessBlue2's topic in Carolina Panthers
He hurt his thumb on that first drive I thought? I knew he was going to be bad but it was still shocking. His head wasn't great in preseason either. He just looked really bad last year after his first game. Worse than the year before. It has been obvious he was aging out fast but the mental side is some Panther level BS. How do you see that as a coach and go 'let's get him signed for another 2 years' or in preseason and not saying 'umm Plumber isn't going to be enough with Dalton looking retired already'? -

Sorry was in a hurry. I always saw this as a free agent need this year. They needed a #2 and not a rookie. A rookie would have been fine as a #3 but given all the other needs I completely get passing on that in the draft. I Just never liked them resigning Dalton when it was obvious he was washed. They would have had to pay more but look what they got for 4 mil a year. Might as well just gone into the year with 1 QB lol -

I was talking about free agents and not that draft. It was a terrible QB draft. -

Ass would be a step up sadly -
Yes. That's what you buy on a discount in free agency while the team keeps swinging in the draft and not spend multiple 1st, a starter and more on. Also it's year 3 so I have no idea what people are hoping a surge of improvement comes from at this point. It's not coming physically. Maybe he sits and fixes his mechanics after his stint here? Seems like a stretch given why they are the way they are but that's the only route I can guess and even then it's hitting jag QB levels. The only way he can bust harder at this point is by the team taking his 5th option and dragging out another 2 years of this crap and still go no where with it.

Gotcha. I'm not sure he would have tho. Still, either one should be mostly handing the ball off to a RB. Andy was bad but after watching Plumber I know it can still get worse. -

It's wasted if he is on the roster too so it's an easy call really. Tilis magic -

The DC effect. NFL level meh delivered by a low tier motivational speaker. I don't think there will be many issues until they get further away from their early wins. Im not sure there will be any regardless because most of these guys are just happy to be overpaid and starting when they would be backups or PS guys on better teams. -

But they got Dalton on such a cheap deal... -

From being signed on Thursday to maybe starter on Sunday? I don't think so. Go look at his body of work and you will see he isn't a Vinny T kind of Vet. Bryce is going to start with Dalton hurt (and terrible to boot) and White coming in from the dark (and also terrible too). -

Go a head and IR Dalton too. It's almost like they should have taken the QB #2 spot a little more seriously in the offseason.- 82 replies

I'm torn. It's easy to crap on Hubbard and Rico is doing well. This team is dogpoo without an effective running game. If we had a decent QB I wouldn't care but we are 1 injury away from needing to run the Wildcat and even without that injury they still need to be running the ball more than throwing. Otherwise sure why not? Bigger issue is the offensive calls and the OC/HC has no idea how to rotate or spell players.

That's why so many said he wasn't worth it here, there was only DB and it wasn't enough. If Burns is feasting then the other guys in NY are doing enough already, Burns is just collecting the stats. It's what he eas built for and is finally in his perfect space to succeed. Im not as in on the new guys yet. More is an understatement but the good news is that they are rookies.
-
Burns had over 10 sacks in 1 season here and that was with Brown. That's a fact. He isn't a game changer, he is a guy who feast when he is a role player surounded by enough tslent that teams can't easily focus on him. It wasn't just turning down that trade that pooped in the punch bowl. It was saying how special he was the entire time because they had so little talent on the roster to promote while also negotiating like he wasn't special enough to turn down that trade.

Take a vet and draft one too (early or later). Young hasn't shown anything worth his 5th year option but this team loves bad decisions.

I thought they would try and hide Bryce this week and roll him back out agaisnt the Saints but with Dalton looking as bad as feared it might be the plan. Lose lose really.

Why hasn't DC's suspected change on the RBs been highlighted here?
Waldo replied to TD alt's topic in Carolina Panthers
I forgot to run the guy who just had 2 great games of almost 200 yards a pop, then the Jets game they almost gave away while trying to figure out how to work Hubbard back in some and then went agaisnt a poor run D while getting blown out not running Rico. DC ain't it -
Just forget about those scrambles too while they are at it
-
DC built the offense Young could run but it's too limited and relies on a effective run game and/or a poor opponent. Where I disagree is that DC and DM being held hostage to what they signed up for equaling getting a chance to prove it's not them but the Teppers. They absolutely could have snuck a better QB into the mix vs resigning Dalton. If they couldn't have done even that then the next QB won't be their's either. Lots of debate on both but 'the guy they chose and belive in' is a dead end already since they are operating in the space they were hired to operate in while not being able to find anyone better than Dalton. Either by choice, having zero choice in the matter or by personal faults. None of those should equal go save us at QB IMO
