Wait, they sell Young jerseys outside of the youth size he wears on gamedays?

He will make a good clipboard holder for someone.

Is Thomas Brown just calling plays from Frank Reich’s playbook?
Waldo replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Maybe they are just both really not good? Brown is a yet and Reich is a duh. Some people were ready to promote him to HC without ever watching him run the offense. Now it looks like Reich was actually telling the truth and it's all a cooperative effort... -
Young's Stat Splits before the Texans Game
Waldo replied to SaltAndPepper's topic in Carolina Panthers
5 TDs when behind vs 1 when ahead. Half of the sacks came in the 4th quarter where his rating is also at it's highest. The quarter splits are telling as are the down splits. Having 3rd down be your worst one is brutal. -
I would fire Reich at 0-7
Waldo replied to Move the Panthers to Raleigh's topic in Carolina Panthers
He gave up playcalling and that was the only in season thing hanging over him. Unless he loses the lockerroom or there is some scandle it's just a moot point. If fans want blood then start at Fritts. I don't personally think Tepper is ready to admit anything yet but that's a move that can be justified even if you ignore the Teppers problem in that equation. -

He could be one and done but there really isn't a positive in firing him before the end of the season. It's not like he is going to Urban Myers himself. I get not being happy with Frank but he isn't close to the change worth seeing at this point IMO. Brown is already calling plays and they locked in this year months ago with some injuries to help it along. -
Both Sam Darnold and P.J. Walker starting this Sunday.

PJ has him by an inch... -

Seriously, do y'all want a positive vibes only thread?
Waldo replied to LinvilleGorge's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yikes. I thought the Error era was a lot worse inside the fan base, it was brutal outside of it. The few Lions fans I know just laugh and say 'I'll believe it when I see it' to anything positive I say to them about the Lions and that fills more than a few gaps. Thanks for the detailed inside view. I don't really feel sorry for any of these people at this point. It's not even the wins, it's the product on every level. I gave Rhule the benefit of the doubts and he absolutely never earned anything positive. My stance is if you want respect earn it because I'm tired of giving stuff away to people who don't deserve it. IDK if it's how Tepper has been running the team since he got here or what but I have no goodwill for free left at this point and they really haven't earned any from me yet. -
I told you where to look. Im busy so if you are too lazy to do a quick search then that's on you.

Just ignore and hope he gets the help he looks to need

It still amazes me how many people believed what they were selling this offseason and then just hopped on the next BS train. It went from easily win the NFC South to a rebuild lol. He is so smart and picked up the playbook so well to he is having duties taken away because he can't handle them. Just lol It's not like the coaches couldn't see how he was handling it all in the preseason practices and then still went out week 1 with all of this 'too much' on his plate yet they then waited weeks to dial it back? Yeah that sounds totally legit. Take everything with lots of salt.

There was a video of Tepper talking his BS. It was posted here all over the place here. You not knowing about it does not make it not exist.

Tepper has been the problem since he hired Rhule in a lot of minds, it just took others longer to see it. Fitt is either a yes man to him or he is just bad at his job. IDK, all of that PR stuff leading up to the draft sounded like fluff and BS to me. I was only impressed that is was at least well done vs the stuff from years before. Either way, Fitt even having a job when he should have been tossed with Rhule is 100% on Tepper any way you look at it. You are also forgetting the things that were leaking a few weeks ago. Tepper absolutely has been way more involved then is good for the team and pretty much dashed the PR version to pieces but there are not enough on the record stuff to verify the entire story yet. Either way, the original stuff is now obviously not the entire story and just raises more questions than we have answers yet.
-
There is the standard PR stuff and then the deviations from that. Who really knows which is which until later but the further the diviations get from the standard the more telling they are. This year vs last 3 years versions are wildly different. Tepper either doesn't have the skills, aweness or care to do any of that so he is pretty transparent when he opens his mouth but the team had a unified story they told all offseason after about March if I remember correctly. It is fun to watch it flip in usage around here. The gain of salt is more a boulder but it should still go with all of the PR stuff except Tepper because he loves telling on himself.

Pretty embarrassing to have to prop up your QB with his opponents every week, especially when the last one then went on to beat down the other team even after falling asleep for a full quarter while still having time to take their foot of the gas later in the game. It makes it all look so much more hilarious. Dude is rooting for his friend, good for them but it just makes it look like the Panthers chose the wrong one for even more reasons.

PFF: Why the Carolina Panthers should trade for DeAndre Hopkins
Waldo replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I would rather trade a player with no future here but you're not really wrong. I just don't want them doing more damage and whatever gets them gone faster is what I wish for. I have no faith in this build either so I get the reality of the situation but I still want it to end the fastest way possible. The hope of a new GM alone is enough to not want to see any more picks pissed away a la Fritterer. -

Waldo replied to Move the Panthers to Raleigh's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah no such luck. There is so much more pain and embaresement lined up. -
0-6 while looking for a #1 WR is completely normal stuff activity for a team not rebuilding... We are not going to agree on any of this and I'm fine. I think you have a lot more disapointment headed your way. Those fools keep proving me right and it doesn't make me feel any better about their mess and failures.
-
You are avoiding what I said and clearly ment, well for me i guess. It's a complete quality issue on my end. I already agreed about the roster flux, the CB depth they committed too isn't that for a GM who was here last year. Not understanding going from Wilks' oline scheme to a shotgun only scheme's effect on the team is just neglect. Both OTs are built for the opposite which Wilks, not rhule, already established vividly so going well away from that was an obvious poor choice, especially after taking Ickey in the top 10 last year and seeing him improve in said situation vs whatever the hell Rhule was doing. There is no light to shine to make things look better yet. It looks like they are failing and getting desperate. It being only 6 games in makes that even more depressing and embarrassing. Even the improvement they have made so far looks woefully inadequate to match the moves they made. There is no way to justify this all as a rebuild now, it's just a clusterfug.

How do the Panthers move forward in a tanked season
Waldo replied to Verge's topic in Carolina Panthers
#1 Tepper steps back and hires a consultant to hold his hand and help clean up the mess he made. #2 Get a new GM. Yes man or just bad at his job, this one is a dead end and should be put out of everyone else's misery. #3 Fire sale and a real rebuild. Anyone is up for sale, doesn't matter. Anyone on this team should be replaceable in 3 years if the personnel evaluations were decent.
