  1. Not to be that much better than a #1 pick QB, it's not like he is competing against a 3rd round project. Especially for a 15 year vet who is a shadow of his old self. Making the football bearable to watch would be a fun thing to try again this year.
  2. He is the best QB on the roster and it's not close.
  3. This entire team should earn their starting spot. If they hand it to Young without legit compitition after what went down this season then it's just hamstringing another coaching staff unnecessarily. If he can't beat out a Dalton or at least make it close enough that talk of improvemt is more than blind hope then he shouldn't be starting. Another historically bad year just for the #1 vs letting a new staff begin to build off of those meaningless wins? Yeah no contest. They are still going to be top 10 and most likely top 5 even with a coupple of meaningless wins. Going back ti back 1 win seasons with a new staff would be very bad. Anyway you look at it if Bryce is forced as the starter when he shouldn't be this team will be worse off from it just like it has all season. To put that on annew staff will end like the last. If he can't earn it he shouldn't have it.
  4. Trading Moore made it a bad trade. You don't send what little talent you have away from the rookie QB you are picking, just dumb from any angle. Young and capable WR replaced with another 2nd round typical Panther WR special. Dumb. Picking Young made it an epically and historically bad trade. Young as a prospect wasn't nearly as good as a lot were yelling everywhere and it ended up being embarrassingly wrong. Young on this team with how it was built was stupid. Young with Reich was stupid. And no the Texans wouldn't be doing great with Young. They would just have wasted 1 first rounder and not another one, a starting WR and even more draft capital. They may have 2 or even 3 wins but if you think Young would be lighting it up like Stroud then you are still missing the obvious other parts of why Young is not going to pull out from the bust tailspin he is in now.
  5. They have to build the team from ashes anyways now. Saying they are going to build around Young just means that he won't face real competition next year and are avoiding Bryce's real issues (it's him first with lots after that) vs building the team up and letting him earn it or sit to work on his issues. The investment angle is a dead end. It's spent and gone, it won't be coming back. People walk away from bad investments every day, this is no less painful but certainly not a unique thing. They don't even have to walk away, just admit it was not what they hoped for. They should be trying to get more out of every player anyways. The difference would be to sit him to see if he can actually develope better habits. This team already has a better option on the roster currently, we don't need a stud just something better which is not only possible but already sitting around. The time to hand Young the starting spot just because of what they spent on him has past. He should earn it because if he can't beat out other QBs then he shouldn't be starting going forward regardless of what he cost them. It would actually be a mercy to him at this point and might help him salvage his career. The only thing positive to come out of more of this current approach with Young is the #1 pick in 2025 being a lock.
  6. Regressing or just being who he always was just now with NFL tape to prove it? The NFL isn't as easy as the NCAA and people who can't understand that are the ones that think he would be playing OK in Houston. His school tape was trash and he is living proof that school stats mean nothing when the training wheels come off. Hell one guy is still posting his school videos like it means anything other than how easy it is to win at that level and how lazy the draft stuff on him was from most of the 'experts'. We are worse with Bryce than we were with the any of the last 5 years of QBs. That is how bad Bryce really is at this level.
  7. Every 'what if' is better than what they actually did. Tepper got his man and it is a worst case scenario. Anyone talking about building up Young by building a roster around him is delisional and can't face the fact they drafted Bust Young at an incredible cost.
  8. Well trade him for a 2nd lol. If it was the team he would still have trade value. I'm guessing nothing before a 5th at best and most teams wouldn't send a 7th with his NFL film out there. Being a 'draft expert' is a job with so little accountability, it's worse thN weatherpeople. They just have to wait until the next draft when there is so much crap being produced that it's hard for most to remember the last years dump. Rinse and repeat.
  9. No way Burns signs the tag to be able to trade him. After this year he needs to go to a good team and have a prove it year. It is his best play for the size of contract he desires. His agent should know this and that trail has already been blazed. They won't even get a comp with the amount of free agents they need to sign.
  10. Yes. Give Bryce the chance to compete, nothing more. He has a lot he needs to work on off the field. I agree about the trade situation. They may have to let Burns walk, they can't afford another ugly fight after what already went down with him. I just don't see him signing a tag if he can get it recinded by sitting and do a prove it year that could ramp up his value. Still need Tepper to take a step back while hiring someone to run the team. In no way is Tepper ready to hire decent people that are put into a situation where they can thrive. That comes first or it's more of the same.
  11. There were so many confused people that supported all of those bad decisions. The coaching staff, the trade and the pick. None were good but at the time it was like the team had won the offseason. No one wanted to hear it then and wow is it bad now. How the fug do you make that trade and not the Burns trade? Insanity
  12. If the requirements is to play Bryce then that coaching list just got hilarious. They will end up with another 1 and done HC. The good news is that guarantees the #1 pick in 2025...if they don't waste that one also.
  13. Burn it all down. Tepper steps back and hires someone to run the team. They clean house in the front office and coaching staff. Do a fire sale, there are less than 5 guys we should keep even with rookie contracts. Get picks over 2 year window and prepareto play whoever is left over. Spend 2024 building up the lines in the draft and the rest in free agency on prove it deals. Now is not the time for giant contracts, they need flexability in the short term. Maybe Brown being the exception. Let everyone compete and play the winners. 2024 would be all about improving and ending the year better then how they began. 2025 draft a QB and stud WR with the obvious early picks. They could be winning by the middle to end of the 2nd year of that kind of rebuild.
  14. After the next draft cycle when people tend to start forgetting the year before. It is a lot easier than saying 'I was wrong'. That or it will be 'they ruined him like Carr' and not he was also a bust like Carr, only one of those was ever true and Carr did a lot of that damage himself with his limitations.
  15. Tepper needs more than just a new GM. I suspect until Tepper takes a couple of steps back Fritterer is the kind of front office guy we will keep seeing. Tepper is way too easy to manipulate and I can only imagine what the rest of 'his guys' get up to that we don't know about. Sounds like a snake pit
  16. With Tepper taking a step back, a new GM and HC then the rebuild could theoretically start. No 1st but they could start putting their thing together and try for another QB in 25 if Young is what he looks like in 24 (If he is then there is not a lot of reasons to keep playing him at some point and it's whoever takes the starting spot). Admitting it just gets the BS over and gets to either fixing it or doing more terrible things. Tepper isn't selling. He can make profit hand over fist and never sniff a winning.
  17. Young isn't playing the same game anymore so everything that worked for him then is now gone. I don't think he can see much so his elusiveness and processing are heavily affected at this level and the lack of athleticism leads to no good answers. Everything looks to be his height and poor footwork...which also might because of his height. They will still roll him out next year but if they call it was it is during the 2024 season and just admit he is a bust then there is hope for 2025. We would be winning more with Dalton and the only reason they don't play him is that they can't admit they were massively wrong yet.
  18. It was always a QB issue combined with the rest of the issues. They just can't admit that yet even if it's obvious.
  19. It's brutal she dropped that much cash on things that will not be received well. That's better than your wife buying you a lemon of a car for Christmas with a monthly payment attached but damn that stinks. I hope she can return them.
  20. I hope they were on a big sale. That is brutal
  21. I get that, it's why I use the word related and not official. It still has the Panther's colors and is about the team so how is it not Panther related gear? Am I missing something? Is that the same colors for the soccer team (serious question, don't know or care before this convo). Hell the knockoff gear is Panther related and not official team stuff and that is the same category, even if they are trying to look official. It's all semantics but I don't see how what I said doesn't hold up?
  22. If you keep being bad I will assign you to watch this weekend's game young man...
  23. "screw you, Tepper" is free and how is telling Tepper to stop being an embarrassment not Panther related? It's not Panther sponsored sure. I am not wearing anything Panther adjacent until Tepper gets his head out of his arse and stops the clown show he brought to town.
  24. I would be fine with a fire sale and see who is left to build around in a massive rebuild. Any good players deserve to go make bank and have a hope of winning before another 3 years and the Panthers need a hard reset while not having to deal with yesterday's promises. There are a hand full of guys who are keepable but this mess needs to be nuked so nothing carries over.
