  1. Look at the QBs and if one is good enough then pull that trigger. QB over anything else. There is a line here so the excuse it's not a good situation is BS vs last year. I wouldn't shy away from another QB in the first. It was that trade and the low ceiling of Young that made this last attempt so awful. Find guys in the 2nd and 3rd that can contribute immediately and that would be a great draft. Have a better backup and a project for the PS or #3 spot. No other position can effect the team as much as a QB in this league. I'm not afraid of Dalton playing or a few wins. This team isn't getting out of the top 10. DC needs to show he deserves to make that pick or to even still be here. This team was not well coached on Sunday and the crap he did this preseason was a huge failure.
  2. I don't hate him. I just don't think he is nearly as good as some people think here. He took over the #1 D in yards and point then it went to 3/8 and then 11/10 for 1 game this year. Is he better than a checked out Reich or a Rhule that should never have got the job? Sure but so is a ton of other guys. The one thing we agree on is he isn't a yes man and I do admire that in him. I don't see him as a quality HC hire. I wasn't impressed with his time in Zona and I think he tops out as a solid DC who is a likable guy but way overrated as some kind of savior by people broken by the badness here in Carolina. Edit: OMFG I forgot they fired him already. HAHAHAHAHA. Brutal
  3. I think it starts at firing Rhule after year 2. There is no Wilks and they throw major money at McD but end up Pederson. For GM Berry or Poles (who took this team to the woodshed) I guess. You can go back to the Rhule hire and just say fire Hurney with Rivera and see what Tepper does without that in his ear too. Any way you look at it Wilks isn't high on any list in this game of 'what if'.
  4. It's either too quick or too slow, he is all over the place IMO. We will see how much input the GM and HC have and what they even want to do.
  5. The proof will be in what DM and DC is allowed to do going forward. I'm exhausted with holding up PR BS or fighting the possibility that's what it was all along. This organization has zero credibility still.
  6. It could happen because Tepper is petty AF. I think it's a trade and DM would be happy to pull that trigger shortly to get it away from him.
  7. Just like they kept Teddy and Baker around. Sam's 5th year option forced their hand. Or Cam. I think they ship him off for anything they can get to just get him out of here. A conditional 7th sounds about right.
  8. More like relief from seeing a competent move they wouldn't make last year.
  9. At least he isn't Watson. We can easily move on. I'm ready for it even if it still needs to play out. If that trade wasn't so bad we could have already.
  10. Yeah Evero has to be the hottest coaching seat. I'm not sold on Tepper not caring. If this all truely falls on DM and DC then they are not going to survive long anyways. Hard to overcome such a bad start and facing a pissed of HC next game. Yeash
  11. I would love to see him eat poop but not at the teams expense. Whatever goes down in this mess is anyone's guess at this point but that guy has shown incredibly poor taste at all levels so it's likely to be entertaining.
  12. I didn't read the entire piece by Fowler but don't they still report to him? Are there still weekly meetings? He hired them that's for sure. It's like with the draft PR. It all looked intentional and almost like an alibi, that weird bar sign skit thingy sticks out. I know he wanted new faces to negotiate the stadium deal because of the bridges he's burnt locally but it always looked like a PR facelift to me. They promoted the AGM and then hired his friend with a consultant firm and Jim Caldwell. If any of that is really true then they shouldn't have to play Young and it's in their hands to make the choice right? The entire thing is hilariously not genuine to me on any level. They can't do this but Tepper isn't hands on the operations now? That seems to be a hands on type thing so which is it really because the entire Byce thing becomes proof it was always BS to some extent. If he is going to axe someone it won't be DC first. Caldwell would be a warning shot and Morgan or Evero would be next is my guess.
  13. Next year? Hahahaha no. I don't think he is on the roster at that time.
  14. It would be hard to not laugh at the absurdity of it. Tepper has a history petty behavior so it could be something in that route. Sorry was going a store run and typed quickly, it's hard to be serious about any of this.
  15. That would be sooooo bad for the team. The way he treats people he could do anything when it happens.
  16. The media is turning. The stadium turned last year and it's the worst opening day I can remember. And the employees could revolt. He was throwing drinks last year. Sunday was really bad even by opening day standards. Tickets are not selling. IDK but something will break eventually on this trajectory
  17. They need a little longer to give it the try everyone expects to see but how much longer is now the question. Some think Tepper forces it all year and others expect something to give. It's brutal out there today for them and it's not going to just magically get better. Hell the home opener could be awful
  18. Depends on Tepper if it's an oops or not. He will probably be seen as the hero by everyone else. A couple more games like that and he doesn't need an excuse out of that house. Maybe play the IR card just to save face and see if they can get a 6th instead of a 7th for him. IDK but it's already justifiable to the masses.
  19. It's happening and Tepper may force it way longer. I tuned out last year because I couldn't watch it and it had to take it's course. This year the excuses are done and something will give eventually. DC isn't an old HC already making retainment plans. I would be thrilled to see him say fug it and bench Young, but again too soon for that.
  20. His O is fine. Nothing ground breaking but it works with a QB that can step up and throw the ball. Geno, baker, it's not a mystery. They also put most of their offseason recourses into building it up. Him as a HC and the state of the team is his biggest issue. That is an entirely different conversation.
  21. Maybe even 6'. I don't know. It's not sub 6'. That is a later pick, toss the dice territory to me.
  22. It turned when it cost them a SB. Guys started to speak up and had to be moved. No one wants to be embarrassed. Johnson is in a contract year. The D will be pissed about how poorly the O is helping. That's where the friction comes from here vs what went down in Seattle. Completely different reasons but it could get ugly here. It's that bad and has been for way too long. Hell they could just give up, not sure we haven't seen a preview of that already.
  23. The small guys have to have enough speed to create space or they are easy meat in the NFL. Even then it's such an uphill battle. Wilson did it until his speed dropped off and he is toast. Murray is all physical and a waste of a 2nd contract, what a waste of great WRs he has had. I don't know what the actual number is but there is a height that is needed to run a full offense. 5'10' isn't it
