He shouldn't even be on our roster in 2022 but Rhule is still here. Hard pass if we were serious but I'm all for it. Let him play us into that #1 pick please.

Certainly more fun than talking about trading for Cousins but also a lot less realistic. Have we even talked to 1 OC candidate that could be described as a good yet?

Panthers OC candidate is Not a fan of Sam Darnold
Waldo replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I already see some people returning to the normal offseason gear and I am still laughing. I am not hoping to get better, I am hoping we don't ruin next year or worse. That is it. Don't trade future draft capital and I am as happy as I am going to get. It's a clear lame-duck year for our HC. How does everything we do affect 2023? That is really all that matters right now. -
Use the dookie we already over paid for, this fixes nothing except making another mistake to cover up the last one. Who is a free agent that would want to do a prove it year? That is who we should be talking about. As a free agent? Maybe. As a trade? Fug no. That ship sailed and sank now it's blocking the harbor.

No and I do not think he will find it here. He is the same player he was in school, to change that now would take more than we could offer. If this were a talented and seasoned staff and Sam was in a backup roll not having to start weekly? I think he could improve some but I don't think it would be enough to want him as a starter still. Edit: Adding in the desperation and dysfunction we find building internally from the coaching staff isn't going to help. -
MLB should be a position to upgrade without breaking the bank or using a first on this year. This would be a great spot for a prove it type player and deal for us, not on the Oline again after 2 big failures in free agency last year. I hope we can find a FS the same way, an area where we can upgrade but really shouldn't spend huge money or high draft picks on with the other issues we are facing. If not, see you in 2023.

There is an old saying 'two wrongs don't make a right'. This is a great example of that. He can be right about Sam and still be a terrible option. -

Watching the Panthers is like watching the Titanic sink while on fire but it happens very slowly. -
If Tepper can get Colbert to come here for a few years it could make such a difference. Yeah 2022 is still a throwaway year but 2023 could be a new hope. It would give Colbert a year to analyze everyone and start making moves. It would require limits on contracts and trades this offseason but none of that is unheard-of with a failing staff that reeks of desperation. If Tepper is rolling with this crew and can't get Colbert then we are headed to being the new Lions.

The blueprint was guess work by a pack of guys with very little meaningful NFL experience, the coaching is not a positive, the roster building is a mess with talent but at the wrong spots for what we could have had and they went into win now mode after bad decisions that were just about to become clear in week 4. 2022 is a complete throw away year so we are already talking about 2023 before any hope has a chance for this team. Until then it's the titanic on a slow sink. Enjoy the music and see what survives 2022. It's the year of the Frule's frule: Mr. David Tepper aka the invisible clown 'Sad Moneybags'.

Rashawn Slater named 2nd team All-Pro at LT
Waldo replied to SuperBowlBound's topic in Carolina Panthers
I can't believe we pasted up on that beast of an OG (lol) for a CB. Years and years of wanting a stud LT and we pass up a great one. Just stupid from every angle. -
Snow's D is just too light without that extra guy up front. I would be interested to see what you come up with. Hell, even a 3-3-5 would be better (with Chinn it's really 3-3.5-4.5). It would also be swell if the 2 or 3 guys upfront were getting more push.
-
Keep both and just run a 3-4. Just put another big body up at the LOS and let those freaks do their thing. That is my biggest gripe with Snow, it's not back in school and you need another big body up front or they will keep seeing unfavorable matchups in the run game well past the LOS.

I think both Tepper and Rhule are finding out the hard way the NFL is not cute or easy. If you lose and commit to the kind of quality of product that Rhule, and by extension Tepper, has put together you will get booed and people are going to be very open about crapping on your name and product. The ghosting can't continue for Tepper forever. At this point I doubt his process has played out like it has for Rhule where he now understands mercy will not be coming with out being earned, so very likely never. If people cheered to fire Rhule at a Bobcats game what does anyone expect at the 1st soccer game owned by Tepper? I'm ready for it at this point, both have earned it with this situation.
-
Buckle up, no way are we getting anyone decent.
-
If ownership doesn't set limits Rhule can dig a much deeper hole for thr Panthers to dig out of after he is finally fired. Future draft picks, next year's abundance of cap and contacts trying us to the wrong guys because they were Rhule guys could kill off some of those silver linings. At the moment Tepper appears MIA. Not good for us in 2023. Limits need to be set on Rhule before the offseason activities starts.

Multiple analysts ridiculing Rhule's comments
Waldo replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
The big boys are doing the heavey lifting now. Great. Back to what is really important to Panther football -
The last two days the cracks were obviously showing. Now it's looking like a full on breakdown.

Fire everyone,HC and GM. Hire better people in a more reasonable power structure, so many to choose from. Hire Colbert after the draft and consult under the table on staffing. Move Darnold, eat lots of cap but try to get a 5th or higher. Sign the kind of QB we should have the last 2 years. basically what Cam was in 2021, cheap and positive movement forward. No burdens. Move CMC to WR or trade him. Tricky but depends on him and what cap we would need to eat vs a pick value. Dump Elf and Erving. Maybe Brady to LT but if the draft drops another Slater then take that guy and make Brady into a LG. Find a damn Center in the draft. Trade Anderson if possible. Begin talking to Moore about extention but big cap hit has to wait until 2022. Resign Reddick. Let Gilmore and Jackson walk. We could have some hope, watch players get coached up and actually enjoy the year vs wallowing in the mistakes of this still employed crew.
-
McDaniels has all the signs of a great Coordinator who makes a terrible HC. The difference between those two positions requires what he just does not have. IMO we could cut so many guys on this team, squeak out a little cap and just sign UDFAs and be in a better spot talent wise. Start with the 2 duds on Oline we signed last year. Not worth playing and not worth paying, if we can recoop any cap then dump them.

Sam Darnold sitting on the roster...

I guess no one is excited about Kubiak or Groh
Waldo replied to top dawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
It has to leave a bad taste in our mouth and burn a hole in our hearts? Sure I guess -
It was a terrible trade and that was before the 5th year option 'for saving money on a starting QB' lol.
