Solid Breakdown of Bryce's Poor Performance/PFF Stuff
Waldo replied to Matthias's topic in Carolina Panthers
I would take moneyball over crapball any day. Moneyball requires competency to pull off -
Why is everyone focused on BY while the real problem is ignored
Waldo replied to cranky's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah unfortunately they signed up for another year of that too. What's worse an offense that can't score or a defense that can't stop the opponent from scoring? Wait it's both... Blame everyone is the answer -
Bryce Young is a problem — what would you do if you were Dan Morgan?
Waldo replied to OldhamA's topic in Carolina Panthers
Not resign Dalton and get any vet that could run DC's offense this offseason that is healthy to be the #2. Winston, Jones, literally anyone not semiretired. They didn’t just like they didn't find another option at DC. There isn't anything worth trying to save with these people. Let them do their thing the rest of the year and then we can talk about who we hope replaces them before the Teppers disappoint again. -

Do they have ex-PFF people working in house too? -
Has some AI learned to make an account here?

Bryce at his best isn't fine. Bryce not at his best is poo and it's ok to admit that.

Lol it was the 4th quarter in a delay game so I was cooking by then. Until this post I thought it was a running play from where I saw him run until your post. Freaking lol -
Too early to make quality evaluations. I still think that doing the evaluations week by week vs big picture at the end tends to have wild swings in opinions. I'm fine with a guy that can sit...if he is worth the time. Big upside guys needing work depends on who is around next year for me and what makes them projects. Mental projects are a tough sell. Young and Mac Jones types are a hard pass. The NFL isn't school. Only spend 1 pick regardless. Don't trade up to the first pick. That's my WIP list

Their employees were hired to work in house and now ran a draft for thr GM and does who knows whatelse. Completey normal stuff. No chance of that relationship producing any unethical behavior whatsoever...and didn't PFF grade this draft highly?

So more people to fire when this crew gets the boot is what I am hearing. It makes the PFF grades more understandable too. -

Ohh big time throws is a PFF generated stat. They use it in their grading system and it's been around since thr 2010s. Damn no wonder PFF was always all over the place. It's completely subjective and presented as a fact lol -

I do wonder what convinced the team to draft by PFF this year and then to have those grades come out after week 1 just makes it all look like a new low for everyone involved. -
It's a 3 year walk back from generational talent but that's what these guys do after going so hard for so long.
-
That should have been this year. Tough to sell to anyone worth getting when this crew is going into year 3 on the hot seat. I still think keeping Evero will sink them all after last year's showing. If/when he is scapegoated they need to show improvement or it's likely to be so eone else's problem next year. I do agree in principle tho, it all should have happened after last year's problems.

Nothing indicates DC has HC talent. He has zero positive input on the D. It's year 2 and he chose to lean on a guy in year three that had a year 2 thst would keep many coaches from being a coordinator again. For an offensive guy he did squat at QB and now will have to ride his sad choices outside of the #1. Even his OC skills are basic which Im not sure he can hand off to someone else either because with his skills he is just a guy with a headset on the sidelines at that point. He is like a head cheerleader more than anything without his playcalling duties.

Yeah it's just more of the same BS. It's always everybody else first. I can think of 2 XL drops and 1 Chubba drop...at least what I would consider catchable.
-
10% of that 17.6% had to be XL...maybe more.
-
I agree. Good staff walk when they know they can't win with the setup. Plenty of scrubs take the cash and then learn.
-
Always comparing him at his worst to make his best look better which is just mid. Just go with play it out and deal with it in the offseason over that drivel. Being proven wrong is hard t poo do when mid is his best...and it takes checked out team or Atlanta out there practicing with a rookie at the end of the year.

Is Tepper going to clean the house again after this season?
Waldo replied to Lame Duck's topic in Carolina Panthers
They hit at QB in the first swing. Now they need to do what the Texans didn't and keep going or else. That and having their target HC ghost them publicly was also an early ego check for the ownership group. -
Being better than Dalton, availability, isn't hard to improve so I left it that way intentionally. Pretty much but the who and how much is intriguing. In the end it's always Tepper first and then in my mind because it always goes back to that root of all issues.

Remember when Ted Gin would drop TD passes and we were all like shucks, laughed and said try it again? I couldn't care less about winning at this point, just make it watchable and semi-competent. It's such a low bar to have to clear.
