  1. The fact he was the ear of the owner, has been in on so many bad decisions and we still know so little about him...maybe. The more I learn, the less I like about him.
  2. Yeah I don't really care. Shaq is a potential cut for fugs sake. Of course he wants Wilks. It's a dead end option. Feel good about not winning and moral victories and all the old stuff that was just never enough stuck on repeat.
  3. I'm guessing the Wilks support is coming from Drummond. Just a huntch but the shoe fits.
  4. Let me clarify, when I said 'Hurney people' I meant they were hired under his management, he oversaw them and oversaw the build of the pre-Fritterer FO. It sounded like they were 'his' people and not his people as GM. The way I wrote it is absolutely incorrect, you are right. I get the Morgan angle, I can't say anything bad about Morgan unlike the rest of the list. Fritterer has been a part of a couple of concerning mistakes and that debate has been ongoing for some time Drummond was in on the hiring process of Rhule being the third wheel for some reason and the hiring process of Fritterer Link. He was the team spokesman when they hired 2.0 in 18 Link. They have worked together for some time up to his 2nd firing. I have no idea what this guy really does but considering some of the crap he was involved with I still stand by us being better off without him. His position is VP of Football Operations and Senior Advisor to Ownership. Dear god he looks like Hurney 3.0 I agree with SS being a Tepper choice and the sooner that guy is gone the better IMO. His hand in the contracts I mentioned and look consistent when Hurney was here and after. I get the feeling he is the push for the 'there is no cap approach' based off of Lumis' work in NO with Payton. Stewart was a Rhule guy and they promoted him after firing 2.0, doing the pro-scouting that Morgan was brought into improve after the 21 FA mess. I don't know why he is still here either. They didn't hire an AGM for Hurney so maybe the plan may have been to let him try and win the crown but after 21 hopefully they saw the need for Morgan? If Fritterer and Morgan can't bring in their own people then what's really the point of keeping them? That list is a mess of underwhelming to just outright concerning. Morgan already replaced Stewart so why is here here other than collecting a check? None of that is impressive beyond Morgan looking really solid so far.
  5. All the people I mentioned are Hurney people expect Fritterer. Hurney was the GM on the CMC deal but we had hired the rest expect Fritterer right? So they were part of the process I assume with Hurney as the head or did Hurney hire the cap guy and then not have him work on CMC's deal? That looks a lot like the Moore and Moton deals? Morgan is the only one I didn't mention because he hasn't done any bad that I have seen in his first year here.
  6. $8 mil a year. He is a good but not great player. Being better than Elf is like Wilks being better than Rhule, it's not much of a bar to pass and really shouldn't be a competent comparison of value due to one being an abnormally bad option. We have already overpaid Moton on the line, we really don't have to overpay for another solid Olineman at this time.
  7. It is a huge choice that will effect my expectations with the new crew. It's hard for me to believe our current people are well situated to make a great hire if we don't. Maybe it's better than Tepper going it solo but not enough to be optimistic about to me. Who is going to lead the charge? The guy who traded too much for Sam? The guy who did CMC's deal to prove how smart he is? Steve Drummond, Hurney's protégé lol. Pat Stewart, the guy so good we had to go get Morgan to offset his and Fritter's misses in 2021? I am not impressed with any of that at this time.
  8. Yeah but if a QB is on the table then it's worth a look. That deal is dead and will make any other deal look not as good but 2 first isn't bad either. He isn't a Peppers or Miller. He is a good player who could be overpaid and that never ends well...just ask CMC.
  9. They only thing I heard off was that we have to sign him. Until he signs he is absolutely tradeable.
  10. Rams would be worst case IMO but that also has a lot to do with how they trade for tallent and not draft enough. Hackett's red flag was he was in GB with Rogers and it's looking like it was a lot of Roger so he went and got Wilson who is in fact not Rogers. The 2 OCs in the top of the discussion are working with less and making it look good much like Daboll in NY. I like that guy, came in and didn't shoot himelf in the foot tryibg to make year 1 perfect and is taking a huge step this year in opening his options next year. I want a long term build built on sustainable success move but I still feel part of that is an offinsive HC who has shown they can make the most of the guys they have. It's like with QBs, you have to take a swing and be as smart about it as you can.
  11. Winning the SB is goal # 1. I get what you're saying but I personally would start at keeping that goal 1 and then go look at those that have what you said because it us improtant. We did competent and likeable people who were committed to proving the past is still a viable option but those people are not winning SBs in the last 10 years right? I have been kicking myself because i wanted to list the last 10 years of winners and their HC backgrounds. On a browse it was heavey in favor offensive and strategy guys. That should matter in this conversation.

Huge disapointment and I really don't expect anything of him at this point. I wouldn't mind seeing him under different managent mext year before tossing him away but if he wasn't here next year then I wouldn't really care at this point.
  13. That is a bit of a leap. All coaches? It's just a point of potential friction. I hope the new HC goes in a different direction than Wilks m.o. and that is certainly an easy point of friction. Maybe it works, maybe it doesn't but it sure wouldn't surprise me if it didn't.
  14. Yeah it was the climax for me this season and it's the same thing it was for me once Tepper allowed a year 3, just live game practice and a wasted year. I have no idea what Tepper will do but I still hope he brings in help not in house.
  15. It was fun. I was only a lurker back then here but that year was magical on many levels. It's just rough now. Being bored during the season is just too damn brutal and doing it continuously is worst. I just want this season to end so we can talk about better football than I can really hope for yet.
  16. I think it's an alt but sometimes life just surprises you I guess. It's a comical take IMO. I can't tell if they really belive it or are spoofing that take. Either way you are right, fan how you want. It's been really bad around here since we all found out JR was a sh$tbag so it's no real surprise people are extreamly volatile after 5 years of nose dive from the heights of mediocrity. If it gets unbearable then just hit the ignor button and let others deal with it.
  17. It's a head coaching gig. It's all prove it regardless. I have zero interest in watching more of that kind of football. We can do better and we should try.
  18. You are not. Fug the Boys and the Jones. I just wouldn't watch and go do something fun if I thought it was going to be such a bad game, just like I did back in 2008.
  19. You are correct. Lots of fans were happy to see him go to Arizona after seeing the giant step back the D took going from McD to Wilks. When he was under consideration for that gig it was kind of a running joke about Arizona taking someone that wasn't qualified to do his current job let alone a promotion.
  20. No new boss of his will care about what Rhule stole here. If Tepper does have any tears he can wipe them away with all the money us fans throw at him. Will they care about him helping to oust and then replace their last boss? Maybe and then again maybe not. I was just raising the possibility as I am not thrilled with the idea of making Wilks as DC part of the package for the new HC, especially if it is a 1st time HC and we want to get away from Ron ball.
  21. To us fans? Hell yes. To his new boss? Well that is a little more complicated.
  22. His actions made him absolutely firable but Wilks was open about how bad it was and helped to oust Rhule by having an option to replace him. Wilks was very critical of Snow which was who proped up Rhule and then fired Snow first thing with Tepper's blessing. Anyway you cut it Wilks was part of the internal friction during that process. Not saying he was wrong at all just something to be mindful of if they try to make Wilks part of the new HC's hiring requirements.
  23. He only deserves it if he is better than the compitition and there are better options out there. This isn't about fair because that is a simplified concept for children before they learn how complicated reality really is. He should have earned the right to a new job next year and that is a massive upgrade for him over last year.
  24. I like Wilks but I wouldn't saddle a new HC with the guy who helped get the last one fired. I do want to see him in the league but I'm not sure here is great for everyone moving forward if he isn't the new HC.
