  1. It's their jobs. They are professional slingers and BSers looking for a contract. Look at what Young's agent did. The film was obvious if you're not an NCAA fan. The higher in the draft the crazier it all gets so it feeds itself in an out of control way. Could you imagine if the Bears took Daniels? The outrage lol
  2. Agents slinging endless BS and beating up on guys who won't play in the NFL in school will do that is my guess.
  3. The team around him is good enough that it might not really show itself before the playoffs.
  4. I could tell before the pick. He isn't special, he isn't even the best QB in his draft. He is another talented player who thinks he is special. Well school is over and the rest of the NFL was laughing when the Bears made that pick. I sure was just like I was laughing when the Panthers picked Young. If he ever gets his head out of his butt he could pull a Baker or a Fields and hit his potential but going #1 just inflated an already ginormous ego. He has a good D and Moore is a consistent stud. A special player would do more with that even if everything else wasn't perfect. We are really lucky to have Andy. Young is such a massive bust they should come up with another name for it because it's unfair to call other players busts in comparison.
  5. He is riding the best WR in the game and the rest of the team is better than any he has ever had. I think he is playing his best ball but it's going to come back to earth.
  6. Hate to tell you but he is going to bust there. If you can't see it then take off the fan goggles and really look at it. They didn't pick the best QB and it's not close. Anything could happen Sunday. Andy has seen it all so bad take on that angle. He isn't a world beater amd never was in his prime but he is a fiesty vet. No idea if it's multiple TD game or multiple pick game, either way it's still a mercy in these parts to see watchable football. The Bears wasted their #1 pick just like the Panthers did in 2023. At least yours can actually play in the NFL and was a bonus pick so there is that. He also gets to go agaisnt the 32/28 ranked D with little to no passrush so if the Bears can't win this game it's way more embarrassing for them then a team at the bottom staring up at everyone else. The Panthers are so bad they have to wait until this offseadon to start a rebuild that should have began 5 years ago.
  7. They don't even have Corbett at the position he is playing...Shaq is hurt and possibly done... Sell anyone I guess. Hubbard would be a good keep but at what price? It's a good time to know what that number is and which way he should go. This isn't a team with a shot this year. They need to be building towards next year while coaching the hell out of the young guys.
  8. Any way you look at it each pick could have been something more than Bryce. It's not a great way of looking at it but getting it ALL behind us would sure help. Just getting a good HC and building something good would be the cure. We are going to have high draft picks again and they need more than projects. I was less then enthusiastic about DC as a hire but he has shown enough for me to wait and cheer for him. I really like him righting his ship after 2 games, that's when he earned some patience from me vs just being the noob to be brought in to fix Young. He has a lot left to prove and like most of the roster he needs to show improvement. DM too.
  9. I don't know what to expect in this game. It's a winnable game but it could also be a big growing pains type game. As much as I don't like Williams as a person and player I hate the idea we have so much trouble generating pressure. This is a game I would love to see a D push around a rookie. He deserves it.
  10. C Williams reminds me of a younger Baker...maybe even worse. His ego is toxic, terrible teammate and he hasn't realized yet his biggest problem is his attitude. Baker had to fail in Cleveland and then one year here to change. It's hard to feel good when it's nothing but a bonus pick. They still had their #9 pick and if he bust it doesn't put them behind at all like Young has done to this team. Sorry but it's going to hurt a little longer since they still have the Panther's 2nd in 2025.
  11. I went and watched Paton's rookie year scores and interceptions over the offseason. They looked nothing alike. Payton was under center and slinging it around like a gunslinger with outrageous picks but still looked like a future HOFer. He was already commanding the line but also had issues reading the D. Nothing but confidence that he would figure it out with him. Complete opposites IMO
  12. That's crazy and not what I would have guessed. Is this effected by the first 2 gams where they eventually just let guys behind them without fear? He seems like a good route runner with good speed while his hands appear to be his weakness. That's wild and makes me wonder what I am missing.
  13. A trade for him has to include a new contract. It doesn't make much sense otherwise unless they throw a 5 or later away IMO
  14. If you can't keep a guy or shouldn't keep a guy then get rid of them before they walk. That's a good strategy. The problem in the past was the people making the draft picks stunk. If we are afraid of wasting more draft picks then just fire Dan and get a better GM. None of this is rocket science and just because this team has acted the fool recently doesn't mean there are not teams out there doing better while doing this exact thing. He was brought in as a Young crutch and that dream is dead. They need more players on rookie deals from years of cap mismanagement and bad drafting from former GMs and HCs. Poorly run teams have to eat their mistakes and not having the money to keep him around is just another example of that with this team.
  15. 'If I say 'hard pass' on Bryce Young, that may be the first time anyone has associated 'hard pass' and 'Bryce Young' since he's been in the league.' 'Jesus Christ first Zach Wilson and now this. Is there another crappier player we can start a thread about? Let’s ask Ryan Leaf to come out of retirement.' One guy went the predraft info route and finished it with 'he has a snappy quick realease' which told me he has no idea what he is talking about and hasn't watched him play. Lots of if you let Tua stand on top of him you have a real QB...HAHAHAHA
  16. But Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield... It's the Brees thing all over again. Some of these guys are just Wilsons and Lances. And those guys actually had intangibles to try the whole project thing. Young as a project has shown no upside. His technique is beyond bad. His vision is bad. His physicals are not NFL level. He knows it and won't throw the ball farther than the LOS because without a high completion percentage he has nothing at all so he holds onto it as his lifeline. It's comical. Not worth the fight IMO when you can just laugh at the absurdity of it all. I'm laughing still
  17. They picked up 3 $7 million a year guys and a $5 a year guy...except for the CB I don't think they are playing all that well. I'm not sure that side spending more would have changed much anyways. That's what I'm telling myself until the people brought in under the DC start doing better.
  18. It's beyond repair this year. The blew their wad giving Young no excuses and they are going to have to coach up someone. The DC brought in Jewell at 7 a year. Robinson at a little less. Jackson is solid at about the same price which is good IMO. Fuller at 5. They actually chose these guys and spent more than I thought on them. That's a GM and DC issue IMO. As long as the offense is scoring I'm fine. Everyone gets to prove themselves this year or get gone. Winning would be nice but looking competitive is so much fun still that I'm not sweating it yet.
  19. Moore was a disaster of a trade, it should never have happened. He was on a good contract and he shouldn't have been on the block. Burns should have been a blockbuster trade, what they got was a guy who wasn't worth the contract from that fallout for a 2nd. CMC would have just been ruined here quicker since that is where he is now anyways, an injury prone RB for a 2nd is not sexy but it's justified. I'm fine with finding another GM too. A team in the gutter like this one needs to learn to draft better or it won't matter because you can't buy your way out of this mess with the cap in place. I'm not put off by getting more draft capital because that is the right move here. Yeah the D line stinks but that's why I said don't spend big at OG. It's wasn't worth it and this deal at the amount he is looking for isn't worth it for the team. That D isn't going to get better by overpaying more people on the other side.
  20. It doesn't exist in the NFL. Right now his strongest skills are cashing checks and being a cheerleader. Doesn't matter. The excuses are still out there. All I hope in his regards is we aren't the dummies that try to prove there is some untapped well of talent that was already missed. He can't see the field for poo and even he knows he can't make the throws. People comparing him to Baker are high or blind.
  21. Yes. Anytime the team knows they can't or shouldn't resign a guy that's what they should be doing. That was moving Burns when 'the offer' came in. Jackson was a good move too. Letting guys walk for nothing or trading them with less value so you can squeeze one more meaningless year of play out of them is the bad choice. Jackson was traded for that reason and it was a good call.
  22. He is fun to watch and good but with all the wasted cap they need to deal with to clean up the roster I don't know how they do it. I'm fine with rolling through the season hoping the young guys can be coached up and letting him go find his money bags. If we drafted better we wouldn't have needed to trade for him. This team might only be able to afford one decent free agent this offseason so it's a hard sell for me on an extension. A bunch of these guys should be dealt for picks. That would be the smart move with anyone they can't afford next year. We have seen enough to know that there is more cleaning up needed to be done and at best this year is still a top 10 pick. Go get the assets to do a true rebuild and Johnson could help that.
  23. Carr just like Young was a victim of his ability and skill. Carr had a 7 step drop and even then in the NFL the 5 step was rarer. Carr accounted for lots of those rookie sacks while his line played poorly. To be Carr'ed is just to be the main problem anyways. The take that the oline ruined him was always wrong. He ruined himself by not adapting to the NFL and kept his school level stuff that does not work in the NFL. It took him years to clean his technique up but he just wasn't very good anyways. He hit over 3500 yards and 60% completion in his 3rd year but the TD to INT ration was almost 1 to 1. David Carr just stunk and always did, those rookie hits were not the cause of that even if he had a brutal rookie year. He wouldn't have looked good in a clean pocket either because he was never a good QB at this level. Completely agree on the second part. He has no one thing that is NFL level so it's hard to imagine he will have any success at this level. They spent a lot on protecting him and it was an interception and not a hit that broke him this season. Eventually he will go somewhere else and do the same thing Carr did which is prove he should never have been the #1 in any draft.
