Doubling Down: When even the Falcons can guess your play calling by the 2nd quarter. I'm glad we fixed our Brady problem tho...
-
A team needs to be balanced, which is the easy way of saying they need to be good on both sides. 2015 was built on a good D and a good O. If a team can only thrive on one side then it looks like being a playoff stepping stone for other teams is your ceiling that year. I still believe in building around the lines, have an understanding of positional value vs the cap and finding a way to get the most out of the players you have for good or bad. I don't think this crew is very good with any of those things tho.
-
He is so young and I do think he could develop into a good coach, it just looks like it's going to take some time and a lot more experience. No idea what his ceiling is but he never came close to ot here. It will be interesting to see where he goes and in what position. He doesn't look ready for OC but he could slide under a mentor and be ready in a few years for try 2.

I know Rhule is bad, but Meyer might be worse
Waldo replied to ENCPantherfan2's topic in Carolina Panthers
Both are bad coaches, Urban is diahria from drinking Aristocrat Tequila & Taco Bell where Rhule is a soft but giant loaf from eating donuts, broccoli and white wine. Same difference mostly, obviously Urban is going to be a lot more pain and regret and Rhule is just sad but forgettable. -
Jordan Gross talks arm length (Rhule is full of poo)

Another year can't fix incompetence and that is what we are looking at. -
Good on Cam, it's getting really weird tho.

He looked more like a LT than anyone else this year IMO, yes even with the epic fail play his first try. I would be interested to see an actual breakdown from a technical guru on his time at LT. I have no idea what would make anyone see him as an OG. He doesn't have the strength and you are wasting his quickness. It's just stupid at this point. WTF would make anyone think Daley was a LT over BC...

Deviation from the Original Plan.. Is the Reason for this Mess..
Waldo replied to WOW!!'s topic in Carolina Panthers
The original plan wasn't good anyways. It was also a Hurney influenced plan. So we got another GM and this plan looks worse, the one year implosion. But let's not flush this turd away completely. Let a chunk of these people create the new plan...trust the process lol If the plan was to hire people to nose dive the franchise so that we are forced to do a real rebuild, I think it's working. -

Too early for worst Panther HC debate? I guess we could wait till after the Atlanta game but it still feels like the right time. -
I don't trust anyone in house at this time to be qualified to make a competent decisions. Tepper knows very little about how the NFL works outside of the finances. Most of the front office people are Hurney hires, enough said, keep them away. Frtitts is a Rhule quality GM, we could do better anyways and there is nothing I have seen in his resume to feel good about what he would look for in a HC. That's how we get a worse Rhule. Tepper needs to bring in a short term answer over everyone regardless of the specifics of movement. This place is infested with incompetence now and he doesn't know how to fix it. If we want a shot at a real coach and not another Rhule, Gase or Kelly then we need to bring someone skilled and experienced in, hopefully more good than bad experience.

We haven't won late in the year since 2017. Some of us are still living in the past. Making a late run this year would be going against the new norm.
-
We have no idea what the new offense will look like....but I'm sure most of us suspect what it will look like. At least it is exciting again. Lol

Rhule has done enough to get fired already, all that is left are some games to prove why he shouldn't be fired. If he can't do it now what could he do to do better next year? Study? Practice? Hire an experienced OC thats going to teach him how the NFL works and how to be an NFL HC? The 3rd year isn't automatic, even Ron had to rally at the end of his 2nd year. It's not just wins and loses but showing reasons why we can't do better elsewhere. So far he has failed to do that.
-
The only HC situation is in college period. I'd be shocked to see him as an OC in the NFL next year but it's possible. How this team does could impact some of that.
-
True. Still don't know the entire details either of what has been going on behind the scenes here completely. Brady is too way inexperienced to be hoping he becomes your next HC in the NFL tho. It will be fun to see where he goes. Does he take up the HC role in a college or does he go put in the work with some team in the NFL? I can't think of a situation where a NFL team would seriously hire him as an OC yet but who knows. Like you said, football is weird.
-
At least he has an entire year and change of experience now. That's a lot better then when he came here. Dude is super young, he just needs to go somewhere for some more NFL experience. Still, HC? Just too funny

Brady was never qualified for the job, same for Rhule. Overhyped, overpromoted and sadly not surprising given their histories.

Did you see what the Patriots did last night...
Waldo replied to Catsfan69's topic in Carolina Panthers
So your saying a good oline and a 99% run to pass ratio protects a rookie QB? Damn, who would have thunk it... -
Josh McDaniels should’ve been interviewed!
Waldo replied to BurnNChinn's topic in Carolina Panthers
As an OC? Yes, even when we had an OC. Not close at all. As a HC? Same difference. Do not want. -

Just because he is a very good OC doesn't automatically make him a good HC. It's almost like some of you can't remember why he is a terrible HC and HC candidate. There is actually proof why that would have been a horrible idea. -
Rivera was always his own worst enemy. He went Riverboat to change it up. As fans, that's a realistic hope. It almost worked one year. There just isn't much positive that Rhule brings to the table. Lack of skill and knowledge make it years to see if he could learn enough to be competitive. His hype is deflating and even Snow can't prop him up on this level.
