As fans have we unanimously concluded that Bryce Young IS THE PROBLEM
Waldo replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
It doesn't exist in the NFL. Right now his strongest skills are cashing checks and being a cheerleader. Doesn't matter. The excuses are still out there. All I hope in his regards is we aren't the dummies that try to prove there is some untapped well of talent that was already missed. He can't see the field for poo and even he knows he can't make the throws. People comparing him to Baker are high or blind. -
Do we attempt to extend Diontae this season?
Waldo replied to Panthercougar68's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yes. Anytime the team knows they can't or shouldn't resign a guy that's what they should be doing. That was moving Burns when 'the offer' came in. Jackson was a good move too. Letting guys walk for nothing or trading them with less value so you can squeeze one more meaningless year of play out of them is the bad choice. Jackson was traded for that reason and it was a good call. -

He is fun to watch and good but with all the wasted cap they need to deal with to clean up the roster I don't know how they do it. I'm fine with rolling through the season hoping the young guys can be coached up and letting him go find his money bags. If we drafted better we wouldn't have needed to trade for him. This team might only be able to afford one decent free agent this offseason so it's a hard sell for me on an extension. A bunch of these guys should be dealt for picks. That would be the smart move with anyone they can't afford next year. We have seen enough to know that there is more cleaning up needed to be done and at best this year is still a top 10 pick. Go get the assets to do a true rebuild and Johnson could help that. -

Carr just like Young was a victim of his ability and skill. Carr had a 7 step drop and even then in the NFL the 5 step was rarer. Carr accounted for lots of those rookie sacks while his line played poorly. To be Carr'ed is just to be the main problem anyways. The take that the oline ruined him was always wrong. He ruined himself by not adapting to the NFL and kept his school level stuff that does not work in the NFL. It took him years to clean his technique up but he just wasn't very good anyways. He hit over 3500 yards and 60% completion in his 3rd year but the TD to INT ration was almost 1 to 1. David Carr just stunk and always did, those rookie hits were not the cause of that even if he had a brutal rookie year. He wouldn't have looked good in a clean pocket either because he was never a good QB at this level. Completely agree on the second part. He has no one thing that is NFL level so it's hard to imagine he will have any success at this level. They spent a lot on protecting him and it was an interception and not a hit that broke him this season. Eventually he will go somewhere else and do the same thing Carr did which is prove he should never have been the #1 in any draft. -
That's true everywhere on this roster. I just didn't see enough yet.

They still on average gave almost 3 seconds to the QB. https://x.com/throwthedamball/status/1739773008045056318 The OGs were bad and plays fell apart but a decent QB could work with that. Look at all the QBs with less time to throw. Also with all those plays falling apart in the middle that means on other plays he had well over 3 seconds. It wasn't good but he was so much worse. -

When I said that last year I was met with disbelief. The line, the WR separation, etc. In the end he made everything around him worse. And trying to make him work here made the team worse. Lots of lessons in the Young failure. I think we have to see him again and I hope it is short and they just move on with Plumber or someone else. At this point I don't even think Young is a PS guy. There just is no upside with him at this level.- 121 replies

Stop Being Insane(remaining season primer)
Waldo replied to kungfoodude's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yes! This is not a playoff team and there are going to be more losses. It's still better than the last year and guys are getting their chances. So many projects so there will be lows and hopefully some highs. At best they are still picking top 10 and at worst top 3. Just keep breathing and be thankful they even have a chance to prove something every week. -
It's Andy. Some good, some bad and some meh. Coker should get another shot with AT out. Now that the high is over they can work on that stuff this week. That's what I really want to see. Week to week improvement.
-
People were ready to hand him a long term contract after last week. This is more reasonable and normal. It's still fun and the young guys are getting their shots.
-
Sounds like they got the helicopters to the area. I don't think hurricane plans really include that much air power at the coast. It's a different playbook up there and it doesn't look like they are doing air drops yet. Here on the coast they just boat or drive it in but they should be dropping off manpower and shipping containers of goods up there by air. I hope they get it to yall soon!

This is the kind of year where you play what you have and decide if they should be here next year. Time to coach up where they can. No offensive guys please anyways. Maybe a D guy if it really made sense and didn't cost too much but we really should sit tight. I would say we should be sellers but they already sold off most of the team and then picked the guys we already want to be replaced.

Learn to draft better. Trading can't fix this issue. Throwing money at it isn't an option either. They are going to have to scrape something together moving forward. They already made this bed and now they have to sleep in it.
-
Which is what I originally said.
-
Some of those guys he actually wanted. It cuts both ways
-
He never was. They also didn't spend enough on that side. The problem is it's his 2nd year so even without spending enough the guys here aren't really holdovers. It's a coaching and talent issue. He needs to do better with what we have. Today he didn't.

Official Panthers Bengals Andy Dalton revenge GameDay thread.
Waldo replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
It's honestly the kind of ugly game they needed after the high of last week and the wasteland before that. Dalton is fun. IDGAF It's fun even if there is a lot of ugly -

BREAKING: Giants looking to trade for Brian Burns
Waldo replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
That and lots of anger over how everything went down here at that time. Rhule's 3rd year and those offenses even leaning on CMC completely were really bad. They also held him out because it was so bad and they knew he was keeping their jobs for him. I believe his first year with the 49ers he was coming off 2 years of heavy rest and they used him very well but he still left 2 games (?) early and was dealing with some stuff that didn't prevent him from playing fully. Some people just had an axe to grind with him and still pops up once in a while. Of all the problems at that time CMC was a freaking blip on any negatives compared to so many other issues.- 543 replies

Cam Ward.....opinions (AKA A Thread About Shedeur Sanders)
Waldo replied to Jmac's topic in Carolina Panthers
A professional speaking like a professional? No way. Hey DC said we he was QB #1 and then the next day he was on the bench. He should get liar tattooed on his forehead... Just stop asking anyways. His film it out there and nothing on it looks good enough to keep having this debate. Historically bad is what he is so even if he improved he would still be just regular bad. -
I moved out of Cape Coral after Charlie. 14 days no power in Florida in August is not worth it to me. Just go visit and get the hell out. It's so much worse now. I had a new build that was up to the 150 mph standards and those idiots rolled that back after I left in 2006. I could see them declaring bankruptcy there for sure but I haven't heard of it in NC with the NCIUA and NCJUA system they have set up here on the coast. Couldn't get the link to work. I also think they base it on 100 year storms, if I remember correctly, so the 1000 year one they got in the mountains wouldn't show that. I also think I was told the numbers are old and need to be updated but then it would push a bunch of people from good and into the bad sections of the maps but that would have to come down federally and there is too much money in that system to get it done at this time...if I am remembering correctly.

In nc it's either wind driver rain or water that comes from the ground up which is flood. The way it's written is sketchy and gives lots of wiggle room. Thanks. Going to need it. It really stinks. Haven't seen may insurance companies fail recently, not in NC at least. They are very proactive with negotiating with system regulators to not be responsible for anything that would hit too hard. Florida sounds on the edge of collapse but I haven't dealt with that in years thankfully.
