I think we should be prepared to let burns walk
Waldo replied to electro's horse's topic in Carolina Panthers
He still hasn't shown any ability to field an NFL quality unit on either sides. Lots of speed but without a clear and functional vision it really doesn't matter. Neither he nor Snow have adpted well and this year should finally be the nail in their expensive NFL coffins. -

I agree with all except I think this is the coaches vision...which is why I can't wait for them to be fired so we can start talking about improvement and not waste. -
Is Rhule the worst coach in the NFL right now
Waldo replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
He was a great coach, he certainly slipped the last few years but he was a very suscseful HC. The fact is the odds of him wining a SB with another team is higly agaisnt him. That was my main point. I would expect some of the same stuff they had from McCarthy tho I 100% think Payton is a better coach by far. -
The meltdowns are delicious this morning

No HC has won a second SB with another team is the stat I belive. They can have him and would obviously not have learned from the McCarthy hire. I want an NFL O cordinator as the next HC. -
Dropped snaps, batted down passes that Cleveland specifically prepared for and some easy stats on some broken 1st week plays. We could do a lot worse but we can and should try to do a lot better. He is who he always has been. He will never be a Brees. He will be lucky to top 4k in yards with his play style that relys on pounding the ball first.

I think 20 touches is about right. The playcalling just made it look worse. We should have come out running, not passing. Work the passing game in slowly after that. Use CmC early, then rotate heavy and have him ready for the end of the first half. Just more poor scheming and playcalling. We need better coaches.

Both guys I didn't want as HC. McCarthy is toast anyways with Jones in charge. I can see Rhule as a worse coach but also outlasting McCarthy for a few weeks if Jones pulls the triger after a bad start for them. -
The Run D Problem: Scheme, Personnel, or Both??
Waldo replied to Jay Roosevelt's topic in Carolina Panthers
No LBer would look good behind this line. Even Luke was damn near nulified by a weak run stoping line in another mismached D scheme before he retired. -
The Run D Problem: Scheme, Personnel, or Both??

Scheme is a failure in the NFL and the players are mismatched. The Dline should be more size and power yet it is small and fast. -

Who are his competitors now in that race? He stands out this year. -
We will win some games but yeah it is that bad. The Rhule implosion begins. Soon the chants start. The media will be ruthless to the weakest to pick on in the 24 hour cycle for entertainment. Rhule is in for a rough ride. Mirroring that 3rd year in school really isn’t happening.

His name is Brian DaBallz and we could have had him!

We have the Brand with the Process. What could go wrong? -

Wilson had a nice blitz on an oblivious backup QB. Didn't seem like much and no real pressure from the front 4. It's just not a balanced D, in itself or with the O they run. -
Derrick Brown got abused all day
Waldo replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
I agree but I also don't see anything but worse if Tepper picked his own GM from scratch. He has shown no signs of competency to date. Might was well give Friterer a couple of years with a new HC and hope Tepper comes out somewhat more knowledgeable if he was doing a complete house cleaning. Give me Peters from the 49ers and I would be thrilled to see who he hires as a HC. Lots of possible GMs and HCs, I just don't trust Tepper in all of that. -

Tepper needed Hurney to hire Rhule. No way he hires a competent GM solo at this time. Friterer will get a swing at it and I hope he works out...or that Tepper learns enough by then to make the kind of hires at GM and HC that we all wanted pre-Rhule. -

I still think that is likely but what to see him in another scheme. Terrible value for a top 10 pick to date without a doubt. -

Waldo replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
It was obvious they wanted to come out and sling the ball around and had no idea what they were walking into. Rhule has preached about running the ball for 3 years and always gets away from it. Even with a rookie LT he still came out throwing it this game. The man is BS through and though. He wants these guys to look like Mahomes or Allen and they are all thrown away top picks for obvious reasons that he ignores to set them up for a career worst year. -
They knew more about our QB than we knew about their team
Waldo replied to Cam's New Arm's topic in Carolina Panthers
All 100% but this was the worst part for me. They were leaning on him in the first half instead of working him in and protecting him. That is just incompetent especially when they didn't give him all of the 1st team reps in the preseason. -

Let me clarify. Bake is a QB that is best suited to a run first offense. Not the spread, pass heavy you saw today. It is what covers up most of his weaknesses and allows him to thrive.

100%. It is not set up well and used even less well. I have zero faith these people can turn it around. Baker is who he always was. Run the ball, let him make a few plays and don't put it on his back. When we came out and threw it 3 times to open the game with a 3 & out I knew it was not going to be a true run first offense that would work best for him. Don't ask him to be who he isn't and he will not be our biggest problems. -
He is a better QB than Sam. He is also a run first and often QB. In that capacity he can be effective. Force it and he will be awful. It's really simple with a 4 year sample on where he thrives.
