They should be run blocking anyways... We are paying Ian Thomas $6.7 mil next year with an almost $5.3 dead cap hit lol. Who the fug is surprised by any of this?
-
I get why keeping him makes some sense but I think we would get a lot more out of the staff that stays and the players by letting them feel like this year has a reason. An audition for jobs next year is great motivation. I doubt we would win much but at least we would be in the 'cleaning this mess up' phase and out of the 'still making a mess' that has been Rhule's culture. If by the end of the year we know who is worth keeping and who is worth cutting bait on well that would be huge for the next staff.

Just run the damn ball...but they won't. Whatever. It's a good Oline to raise a rookie behind next year with a strong run game. If a rookie can't improve with that setup then draft another one.

The process is coming into focus

It's not just Baker. To go from over 3500 yards a year to this is way more than just Baker. Sam is still trash but even he is better than last year...not much but some. Every QB brought in has played their worst under a Rhule coached team. Someone else already said it. Corral was probibly saved by IR from Rhule or he would be out there getting ruined soon.

What will be the Panthers first blowout loss this season?
Waldo replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
49ers have the #1 D? It's looking like this week is the answer. -
I hit rock bottom with this team when they traded for Sam, just more of the same since then regardless of any positives which there are a few. Rock bottom for the team? Having Watson here and having Rhule still coaching here would have been the worst case scenario ever for us. At least we can hope on next year at this point, with that there would be zero hope and that is if you could get yourself behind cheering for Watson at all. It is really bad but it could be worse. Just enjoy the poopshow and learn to laugh. Watching these fools live with their mistakes on live TV is entertaining. Not what I wanted but it is something to witness.

I didn't say they were huge wins, just some positive trades that were not bad.

I have no idea how the dysfunctional system actually works behind the curtain but we have a cap guy and they just promoted him. His fingerprints look all over this because he is a guy that just knows he is the smartest guy in the room type dweeb. Blame Friterer for the trades, notably Sam. He won some, some were close to value and then there was Sam. IMO he trades away picks more than he gets them and that is not nearly as good as finding drafted talent. I'm more into trading players away before they walk, let someone else overpay and skip the comp unless it is the parachute.

Well if the cap doesn't exist then it won't be a problem lol. We have a cap guru and he just got a promotion lol

We don't really have a choice. I would love to clean house and hire a consultant to hold Tepper's hand but it's F&M or he is doing it himself or with whatever bozo is left in house at that point. We kind of need to keep them either way.

It is not them and never was them. It just all needs to click and bad luck. Throw in some cherrypicked stats and voila you have the magic of Rhule's tenure here. It is going to get a bit worse before it gets better. Even firing Rhule doesn't give us an OC worth calling plays the rest of the year. I'm fine with putting it all on MacAdoo just for the comic relief of watching him fold under the extra weight when he can't even call a decent game but it doesn't do more than get the pick we are already racing towards. Unless Rhule loses the lockerroom then it really is just wait and enjoy the ride in your way type situation.

All they have to do is keep trying to win their way and it's a lock.

Report: Sam Darnold not close to return from ankle injury
Waldo replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
We already tried to throw that against the wall, it didn't work either. Just play PJ, I don't really care. -
IDGAF who the media likes for us at QB. If they are smaller than they are probibly out for me. I want to see who our new HC wants. If we were smart and serious we would start aquiring draft capital soon.
-
Tepper at anger should be interesting to see. I think if he was there Rhule would look like he did in week 17 last season. Tepper looks like a natural bargainer to me but either way it will probibly all get louder from here on out. Looks like the media smells blood and has already brought out the knives.

Even if the next crew is just another mess at least it should be a new mess and after this I hope a shorter mess. This year was never anything more than practice and auditions since Rhule and Co were brought back. So many overhyped moves. Whatever, see who can improve and who we can dump for capital for the new crew.

The pressure is being ramped back up so I expect we will soon hear a lot worse from him. When Rhule and Snow leave to go back to school it will be a great day. I'm not sure Tepper will fire Rhule before the big school openings are closed. He apears that petty and I can only imagine where he is at in the coping process of his epic and public failure at this point.
