[Bootleg Football] The 10 Offensive Gems of the 2025 NFL Draft
Waldo replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
A contributer on a 4 year deal after round 3 is golden IMO. It would be great to see the team draft to the strength of a draft. I honestly can't remember when we did last time. -

It was absolutely a mistake. It was a weak RB draft vs this one. He was an injured player in that draft and then he got injured again after 9 rushing attempts. That's not bad luck but bad betting. They also had Chubba and Sanders which is already showing that they were cool with burning 1 year minimum on a injured player so he was never really going to help with the QB play until deep into the year at best (maybe they should have sat him the entire year?). There was meaningful talent at positions that are still position of needs they could have taken with that pick. It was a bad bet and a bad pick. He has 2 years out of 4 left to change that but then he has to stay healthy enough to play which is something he is 0 for 2 on currently. -

If we don't take a RB later because they made the huge mistake of taking one in the 2nd last year then I hope Morgan gets fired. Any GM that can't admit they made a mistake isn't it and the sooner they are gone the better. Let the young guys compete next year, lol, after the 1 year rental is up. -

8 Armand Membou OT | Missouri Projection: Jets The only issue with that is the Moton farewell tour this year. -
The Athletic - Post-Combine Consensus Big Board - 3/17

Walker has a quad strain so he won't be practicing in his Pro day. Whatever. I like the trade back, getting an extra 2nd would sure help overcome most of these hypothetical 1st round picks. I would also like who the Jets took with our pick. -
They have a HC that should have stayed the best DC. Most defensive guys shouldn't be running a team anymore.
-
This team sure loves disappointment. What could go wrong with a huge project and the DC who ran the worst D last year? Seems like a wonderful marriage. Might as well take a CB because the one safety we have can't cover Ian Thomas.

Growing Sense that we take Mykel/Shemar, No matter who's available
Waldo replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
Best option at 8 would be a trade back still. It's obvious none of the teir 2 guys are worth a top 10 pick. I would rather grab an OT vs S/WR/TE available at 8. A project in the top 10 is just dumb. We have a terrible track record with them. Slow WRs and TEs certainly are not worth the pick. I'd say CB but they kept Horn unfortunately. Same with a DT and free agency. So much meh available. -
Pro Football Focus: Panthers draft grade

When is the early out on Moehrig's deal? I'm guessing we will need one just like with Horn in 2 years. -
Same returning line for the first time in almost 10 years….

Rumblings Moton could be done and I in no way belive Corbertt is a positive at this point while Mays is a big maybe/maybe not. 3 out of 5 is good but they need to keep building towards the future. -
Reading the Tea Leaves: What Did Morgan Just Tell Us?
Waldo replied to MHS831's topic in Carolina Panthers
This year it makes sense for the obvious reason of that pack being so large and guys having more to lose then to gain if so few are showing out. I'm not sure about other drafts. When there is more teir 1 guys they usually jockey for position more of the 39.5 million at pick 1 vs the 12.7 at pick 32. This year it could cost a guy falling to the end of the 2nd vs the end of the 1st in a deeper class. -

Yeah that was my reading. Such a large pack of teir 2 guys hiding their actual performances and hoping for more time and a favorable school sets. It's not a very good draft in the first. -

I get guys skipping a skill set to hide deficiencies like XL and Bryce did but just seems like a bunch of guys projected to go in the 1st elected to wait on so many drills. Just seems heavier this year than normal. IDK -

Campbell is intriguing or just draft Membou. Just depends where Moton really is health wise and Ickey is development wise in their eyes. Is it just me or did a bunch of the top teir 2 guys going early this year skip drills or am I reading that wrong? -

Looks 4.7ish to me. -
And he pays and drafts to potential not to production.

A slow blocking TE using his size in school? I don't get the hype. Looks like a 2nd or 3rd round great TE pick. I still haven't seen any workout info on him. My guess is he is a solid TE but not a 1st round pick at this point. Not impressed honestly. -

There isn't 1 WR or TE that impresses me at 8 in this draft. it sounds like they will draft poorly again but that's not really surprising unfortunately. -
It's a consistent Morgan thing.

Panthers sign former Rams MLB Christian Rozeboom

Anyone Seen the ESPN Projection Guide? *Spoiler* Panthers Suck
Waldo replied to 45catfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
First, that last part damnnnnnnn. Lol This draft screams solid but boring. That's great long term but like playing Wallace last year it's not likely to pay huge quickly if ever. Given our history I'd bet against it just on the odds. I just need to see more. 7 wins seems fair and attainable at this point and I don't see how this draft changes much. -

I can't belive more than 7 until I see it. This team was going to take the nfcs last year after the first week of free agency around here. Lots of guys on this roster that have a lot to prove, entire organization really. Morgan likes projects and to project but his hit rate hasn't been great to date. We got 7 wins while firing Rhule midway through a season. That wasn't a good team either but it's better than last year IMO even if it faceplants for any of the various possible reasons. -

Yeah and I don't see anyone in the draft that 'buys wins' next year either. Lots of guys that buy them the luxury to not have to go overpay in free agency every year. -
Panthers Re-Sign Mike Jackson to a 2-year/14.5M deal
Waldo replied to thunderraiden's topic in Carolina Panthers
These are the deals that make me happy. Solid players on good contracts. No need to improve to justify the contract and is known to be reliable. I was curious why it looked like he was headed into the market early but that's a win. I'm shocked no one else would want a solid stsrting CB on that kind of contract.
