  1. Are we gettong Lance and a 2nd? A 2nd seems way too low
  2. I understand and doesn't contradict anything I said. Could be a really bad spot. His effort is easily questioned while noting the entire situation.
  3. And? Giving large contracts out when you are failing has that kind of mess involved in the clean up. I like DJ and don't want him gone but this kind of situation can really fug up the plans. I don't blame him or hate him. Hell his contact makes him that much more valuble in a trade with the contracts that came after. I'm sure his agent knows that. If we send another player away after RA and eat more dead cap why wouldn't a stud ask out of this place like that guy? IDK what Moore wants or would do but his play looks like crap and we all know the QB situation isn't improving.
  4. I don't watch any school ball and won't, that is why I didn't say anything definite but just what noise is filtering up into the draft talk already. I will watch the scouting stuff once the year is over. Tua had the same hype and it was all BS. Special, franchise QB lock because of what he did in school and he could overcome his size...none of it was true in the NFL and it took a great offensive mind to make him look ok but he still got injured. Playing well in school is easy compared to the NFL and if anyone knew how to project QB play from the NCAA there wouldn't be so much failure to make that transition. Hell how many Heisman winners turned into duds at the professional level? Size matters and it is absolutely going to take a hit for it unless he can prove why he shouldn't. One of the reasons they measure height and weight at the combine is the schools info is completely unreliable so that will be a huge step for any smaller guy. I'm glad he sounds tough and better than Tua but it really doesn't matter if he can't hold up at a much tougher and more physical level of play along with all the other brutal transitional standards ahead of him. Also the older protected QBS get separate calls from the young guys, just ask PJ after he had his head almost pulled off without a flag last week. Can he? IDK and I'm not all that worried about it until we get to the offseason. I don't care about school all I care about how they will look in the NFL. College fans overhype players and aspects from college every year that turn out to be completely fictional at this level. If the guy can finish healthy and put great tape together then he has a great chance to be an NFL QB. From some of his non-fans it sounds like some of the projected issues could be deal killers even if he is a stud at that level or has good qualities that project well into the NFL. For a guy of his 'size' and the size he actually looks he is going to have to be very special to make me want him as an NFL QB. Even Wilson didn't make it in the 1st and he isn't doing so well away from the team that made him look like an exception in the NFL.
  5. I'm fine with it for all the reasons stated already. If he didn't ask for it then I doubt it happens. He feels like a Wilks type guy and no one in house is really setting up for next year...yet. If they still think they can compete after this weeks game then they will ride it out while failing unless the players start to ask to be let out of this mess. I know the whole Wilks angle in the optics of it all but he is not helping with the hopeless offense so it is all inevitable anyways and that guy is really coaching for a DC spot going forward at best anyways.
  6. Maybe DJ can rebound but it's looking like both the situation and the player are an issue. I am guessing that the 1st led to the 2nd but at this point it looks like both are true. Not sure anything less than a change of scenery can change that now. Just brining in a new staff may not be enough. It would stink if he was another causualty of this mess here.
  7. Sam isn't a winner. He is broken and beyond repair.
  8. All of our QBs are terrible so it really doesn't matter which flavor of crap we get this week. Sam is terrible but why rush it? They fugging know what he is and running him out like an injured Rogers to save the season and win a SB only to get slaughtered would make them look like idiots. It's just survive the season and nothing more from here on out. PJ is the sacrifice this week and next week we may have new blood to throw at the football gods so they can continue to poo on us Panther fans.
  9. He would have to be incredibly special for me to want to see an exception for him. Sounds like a Tua, great in school and going to be meh and injured in the NFL. We already have a young injury prone QB, lets get one that isn't.
  10. Lol We should just keep playing PS guys. Maybe we can find one worth brining back to compete with Corral and a 1st round rookie next year. If they didn't let PJ throw down field then why the hell would they let Sam do it lol
  11. Jones is highly likely to have dirt on him allover the place. Easy mark.
  12. It sure seems that way. Then again some of the interview process sounds incredibly flawed lol.
  13. I agree with all of that. I just too damn picky. I have seen enough NFL garbage in my lifetime. I want to win ans belive we can keep doing it for a few years.
  14. So next year when it is only 13 million lol? And people say the cap doesn't really exist lol
  15. It won't until the deadline passes and then it just becomes what we do after the wasted season finally ends.
  16. Sounds crazy but maybe? His play has been less than stellar lately so I don't think anyone would make a move for him right now.
  17. I don't like any of the second paragraph options, like at all. Dorsey didn't build that system and he is an obvious step back from Daboll, feels a lot like Wilks to me. I'm not sold on Waldron either. He is doing good things, I like that they hired him from the Rams but I am not sold on his year yet. The other 2 are very interesting but like I said above I am waiting for the year to get a lot closer to over before we can have a more complete discussion on their years. Defiantly liking the first group and want nothing to do with the second group. I like your effort and input. What would you like to see for us moving forward?
  18. I think experience is where he have to step away from ideal and take a shot on a younger and less established coach. The interview process is going to be huge and also one we are not set up for well...again. Chances are we take a new HC that had less than desirable OC experience or we go with a stud DC who is going to have issues keeping the O relevant like our past defensive minded coaches.
  19. I think we are locked into doing that this offseason. How well is defiantly questionable.
  20. The site prep wouldn't include the ramp. That sounds like something the city would negotiate in the stadium negotiation process. Still, way to early to have any conversations between the team and local leaders. Elections, recession, terrible product and recent massive failures lead me to believe it will be a while before anything meaningful ramps up. I think even Tepper said it was being pushed back 10 years last year?
  21. Not too soon. No one would be willing to listen to a stadium deal right now. Maybe start with the team and practice facilities first?
  22. If he was 0-2 with the team performing the same way I would think the same thing about him. I still think they hit a wall this year and that is fine. He is coaching up a bad O way beyond what was expected and he brought in a really good DC who is doing the same on that side. The jump to HC is a lot like the jump into the NFL for QBs coming out of school. I'm not sure I can define either one correctly but only vaguely which would be why it is always so hit or miss. Making the most of what you have, track record of building up elsewhere relevantly, not having your flaws covered by a system built by others and locked onto where the NFL is headed today and not yesterday sounds like great starting points.
