  1. I never said he was bad just not as great as you are trying to build him up to be. He can score and I would be fine with him as a FA. I don't think he is a Stafford but a solid step down. I don't think trading for him fixes us or is the 'one player away' from contending for a SB but he could be a better version of Alex Smith with the right HC. He is 0-1 in the playoffs, missing their 2016 appearance being hurt. I think that is a fair example of who he is as a QB. He puts up some good stats, is a good QB but he isn't a game changer or good enough to shoulder the weight of his imperfect team, which we will be again here next year as we dig out of this mess built over the last few years.
  2. Lol lots of roles there but he has been in lots of close games this year and has pulled one out.
  3. Nothing I said was untrue and I didn't apply one bit of attitude or negativity. It's just not worth staring at or worrying about right now. I offered an honest opinion and your emotional response with so little provocation hints that it's effecting you in a negative way, I know it would with me if I took that approach. It's not an untouchable subject obviously but taking a quick look and moving on is really the only sane move IMO until we are a lot closer to it being set for the offseason. It stinks but if you want to watch good football then you are going to have to watch other teams until the end of the year. I have watched more other teams this year then in the last 3 or 4 years and it is absolutely a coping mechanism to get me through this year with the sad hope that Tepper will hire a HC worth watching next year.
  4. Carr has won zero close games in 2022. Link Even with their awful HC choice this year that stat stands out above the 1 300 yard game and no 3 TD games this year. I don't think he is awful and I would be fine in a couple of situations with us picking him up as a FA but I don't want to spend any draft capital on him.
  5. Just stop looking until the end of the year. Watching our pick placement is like watching water come to a boil, it is pointless and a waste of time. Lets talk at the last game of the year. We will be picking in the top 10. That is close enough to make a move if there is one to make.
  6. That is old school Hurney BS, it still lives in Carolina apparently. We need a lot more than just a QB...like start with competent coaching staff first. Another DE, a TE worth having on the roster and a healthy CB who can play 80% of their snaps. Stuff like that.
  7. I was talking playoffs and not regular season. Context. As stated he has slipped recently. If we were getting Carr from years ago I would have said differently.
  8. No thanks. I would rather go with a young guy who gets to play. Just getting into the playoffs seems like a low bar to be aiming for, Carr doesn't look clutch in those situations. Draft a rookie and play a FA vet if that fails and do it again if needed. If the roster is that close then do it right and use that window of cheap play from a rookie contract. If the next crew can't draft well then them being here longer wouldn't be a positive. Lets see what they can do and rip off the bandaid if they stink also.
  9. I missed having a cheap hammer to pound other teams. He would be great to pair with a rookie QB. The line was being mean and I love to see it.
  10. The only way this could get any better is if Snyder starts releasing his dirt in retaliation.
  11. Sounds good to me if he is as small as he looks.
  12. He is so damn tiny. Great vision but he scares the hell out of me. I would be happy to snag a DE and then trade back up into the 1st with our 2nds for him. He looks like he is 5'10" at best and under 180 lbs lol. The combine measurements is going to be his biggest hurdle for him with his skills. Could be a legit NFL starter or a guy who peaked in school.
  13. Even when I don't agree with them they add value to the total conversation and I love it. It's been a light in these dark times. They nailed this one and they did pull up short. We traded CMC and got better because we have had no one that could use him correctly (the bonus for him is he found that now). We haven't with Burns either IMO and adding a giant contract to that equation isn't going to make anything better lol.
  14. Ellis' podcast went in to that trade then players that went in the draft with Burns' production being absolutely replaceable and overvalued by the Panthers/fans. That was the kind of trade that isn't often seen and we won't get nearly that much if we do end up shipping him off on his 5th year option or tag. That fact it could have put us in reach to snag our QB of choice without crippling our future is a no brainer with that 2nd. It just sounds like what Hurney said about Burns is still being thrown around in house and it's just not true yet and I'm not sure it ever will be. If he signs his new deal at those projected #s then we will be screaming to dump him in less than 3 years unless we go to a 3-4 and he is putting up the kind of production that justifies the contract he is expecting after hearing what another team valued him at...even if they were braindead to offer that for him. Moore I get though that GB pick could be a top 10 pick but his cap hit is hard to trade this year. Neither one is good enough to be untouchable. Sorry but it's true and I like both as players.
  15. Sure...as long as a solid QB isn't there. That is my 'ohh well get one in the 2nd or package the 2s for a late 1st QB' plan B.
  16. I didn't know it was GB's 1st for Moore. Damnnnnn Meh he didn't have an impressive resume and he looked like the likeable but not extremely talented guy up in Seattle when they were doing poorly in the draft and overspending for the wrong talent. They actually look better since Fritterer came here. We could do better but I'm not sure Tepper could at this point. There isn't anyone except Morgan in the FO that I wouldn't be sad to see go away at this point. There is zilch that he has done or experienced that leads me to believe is capable of being a traditional non-yes man GM at this time IMO.
  17. Absolutely have to be able to take a shot on QBs. I would rather go the rookie route, usually and especially given our situation.
  18. I'm tired of seeing short QBs play. If this guy measures out how he looks then hard pass. Worth a shot in the 2nd/trade back late 1st if we miss out on Stroud.
  19. At least he is healthy. That is the best I can do at this point.
  20. No thank you. I do not want to see a HC make this kind of trade in year 1. Maybe in year 2, hopefully not, but all I want to see this year is a great draft and those players getting coached up. I also don't agree with the fully guaranteed contracts in a cap system. It is just a dumb thing to do. The Ravens are smart to bail if it comes to that. A mega trade deal and then mega contract is not something I want to see us on the buying end of anytime soon.
  21. There are a lot of options if we don't like anyone left at our pick in the 1st. First we need a good coaching staff with a solid and realistic direction.
