  1. But all of it 100% effects how the Panthers spend money. That is a huge chunk of change that can be spent elsewhere.
  2. It's pretty standard PR tactics. Get your name out there, get people talking about you and set the narrative that can carry you through the interview process. What 4 weeks of silence and then he does the PR blitz and bang now he has a new job. I never liked him either but this is just business as usually with the same crappy Rhule flavor to it all.
  3. He isn't a good guy or coach so I hope it's painfully hilarious for him after what he did here. Doing it at Nebraska kind of makes it all the funnier to me.
  4. So good he is getting the Commies to over .500 the first time in his 3 years by a game. It's the safe space of mediocrity where fans can still believe they can win a SB but the reality is your team is the one the other one is excited to play because they know exactly who you are and what you will do if you can find enough magic to make 1 appearance. 3 winning seasons and this might be his 4th in 12 years of coaching. Great! Nothing easy here except Tepper so maybe we can get a guy willing to dig in and do the dirty work of building a team up and not a guy looking for a vacant throne. No red flags there (/s)
  5. I'm over seeing anymore of that kind of football. I don't think it's good enough to win and it's beyond predictable and stale. I also don't like the idea trying of tie a new HC to Wilks at DC. Scaring off a great prospect because Wilks was part of the deal is an assbackwards way to operate. I hope he has put together enough work by the end of the year to get a good gig after this year, just not with us. Wilks is the kind of coach I wouldn't mind playing against twice a year. Tough but completely beatable, HC or DC.
  6. I'm not all that impressed with his work even at that level. Exposed is an understatement. That guy should put on a suit and go into sales. Snow should get the HC gig and hire Rhule to run his brand.
  7. I'm fine with a DE first if that is the way it falls but just sticking with Corral and putting the season all in that basket would be a huge red flag with the new crew. We would still have to bring in a vet and most likely still draft a QB at some point even if we didn't go with a QB with the top pick.
  8. As long as you stare into the unknown and avoid the known anything is possible...lol
  9. He is getting the tag and everyone knows it.
  10. Any fully guaranteed contract is an issue with a salary cap. It takes a lot options off the table from the start and marries a team to a player for a long time no matter what, which is a terrible idea in the NFL with the constant injuries. A non-fully guaranteed contract can be latter renegotiated and adjusted along the way. The only way that makes sense is if you do short contracts like 2 years otherwise it's a terrible deal for the team. I expect plenty of push and more moves like the Raven's being prepared to trade a quality QB away in his prime. They can get rid of the cap and be like Baseball, yuck. Not sure on NBA because I don't know much there. Any team taking on a long-term guaranteed contract of that size hasn't learned anything from the Watson and Russ mistakes.
  11. Yeah no. Russ and Watson prove why it's a terrible idea.
  12. And they both look like ginormous mistakes. I was wxpecting the tag but I don't expect him to budge until he test the market.
  13. Then they are 100% correct to move along. It's a terrible move with a salary cap.
  14. Anyone asked yet why the Ravens are balking at a new contract for him (not re-reading)? They must feel very strongly that they can do more with the draft capital than LJ at that price and they know him best. I would have to agree with the Ravens on this one. Being good on a rookie deal is a lot different then the good you have to be on a large guaranteed contract. I have no problem with the guy but I don't think he is worth a top 5 contract. It's a smart move for the Ravens IMO but they also can't be idiots with his replacement. If they get a playable vet and a project QB they should be fine which says a LOT about that entire situation for them. This feels more like a Seatle/Willson situation for them and less Detroit/Stafford to me.
  15. Lol that was what Fitt was hired to do and he took the job that year. No escaping that stain for either.
  16. Liked him coming out but he can't stay healthy and hasn't developed much. He isn't a project that makes much sense for us in any positive way. We already have a young longshot not healthy enough QB on the roster next year. Draft one and don't do a mega deal for anyone.
  17. Just draft one. Giving up that kind of capital and then a mega contract is a huge hurdle. It's one thing to pay your own guy after those rookie years and a complete other to trade years of draft capital and then sign a huge guaranteed contract. Add in it's going to be year 1 on a new crew and that is a hell no from me. Let the new people come in, get established, learn some basic lessons making rookie mistakes and then take stock on weather such a giant move would not end up turning toxic. It makes sense in Madden but not for us next year. Do not want. He is a winner but I hate the thought of being on the buying end of those type deals.
  18. Because Wilks' approach is the same as Ron's. Play 10 deep on that soft coverage.
  19. Superstar? We don't have any. The rest of his BS has already been covered. Yup. Classic Ron BS. Do not want even as a DC at this point.
  20. Let them compete. If the QB can't keep the job by their play then they shouldn't get another week until their next turn. Baker was a dud so next up, which is Sam. The truth is we know what all of them are at this point in their careers and it's auditioning for a backup roll so being able to come off the bench is more valuable than hoping there is some hidden reservoir left to squeeze out of any of them. Baker shouldn't get close to the 70% mark with how he is playing.
  21. He is next guy up so no real surprise. Baker didn't earn another week so on the the next until this season's merciful end.
