  1. He is a RB so what does the deal look like. Not comfortable backloading a RB contract either. If they can make it work then great. If not then they need to normalize brining in a back every year or 2. There are solid backs in FA also as Foreman has proved. I like the idea of keeping a power back in the stable, it's been a nice return to having that option (plus it's not our QB so double yay).
  2. Wow yall are trying to get Wilks fired after another 1 year HC stint? Because this is how that happens.
  3. Just hire him as HC and call it a day. Kuechly is the only defensive HC I would want. If he wanted to do it then I would give him the benefit of the doubt that he would make it work. That guy understood everything that happened in a game. X&Os and leader of men. He has it all. If he is going to start under someone then he should go work a couple of years under a coach with a great tree to network.
  4. I literally fell asleep because the last game was so boring. I'm ready for some good, dare I say great football, around here. I'm fine with this season ending and won't miss it when it's gone. This roller-coaster ride is more like the one made for children too little to ride the real ones.
  5. Anyway you look at it there will be a QB better than Darnold in the free agency. They won't be great but being better than Darnold is such a low bar. The only reason he is even on the team is because an idiot gave him his 5th year option when they should have just waited. I don't even care about brining him back to be a backup next year. If the GM can't do better than that as a backup then we need a new GM.
  6. I wouldn't say lazy jusy reverting to what they really want to do when they can justify do so. Rest sounds about right.
  7. Look at the last 10 years of HCs that won a SB. See any tendencies? It matters.
  8. Stiechen and it's not close. We all know where Wilks would take us and it's not winning a SB. We could do worse but that shouldn't keep us from trying to do better. Wilks coaching conections is a dead end.
  9. Link My problem is he took that job in the first place. Terrible decision and his connections are a huge negative as a HC filling out his staff.
  10. If it was 30 years ago? Hell yeah. Not anymore. He has proved he belongs in the NFL but I would still rather play his team as a HC then have him as a HC next year. Good interim but not a great prospect HC IMO. He should be the floor of what we are looking for. His connections make him a hard pass. All dead ends IMO.
  11. Become an offensively minded coach from another coaching tree. I don't think he can do enough to justify keeping him. If the new coach wants to interview him them great. If not then it looks like he has done enough to juatify staying in the NFL after this year.
  12. Being happy for the win makes sense but jumping into the Kool-Aid yet again is mind-numbing to me. I've had plenty of this flavor to recognize it for what it is.
  13. I gave mine to Steelers fans and feel asleep yesterday. This place has lost it's mind again and it's hilarious.
  14. Tepper needs to take a giant step back from his hands on BS. The fact we were going so hard for Watson this offseason just shows how on the edge of the cliff to worse we still are as a team. I'm still hoping for a consultant to be brought in to hold his hand. I just don't know how much failure it takes to make him realize that. I'm really not impressed with the people he brought into the front office at this point.
  15. Win-wins are great. I love it pushing the Rams up the draft board. Really depressing how limited our coaching was and is.
  16. The first time I looked at him going into that draft I couldn't belive the ducks he was throwing in college and the people saying he was a legit QB prospect. It was mind boggling. The ball came out like it was launched by a wet noodle. It was unbelievably bad but we also went after Little and his film was terrible also. Hurney really had some beer goggles on at times.
  17. Yeah it just changed in 2020. IDK, the pro-bowl has fan engagement involved (maybe 2/3rds?) and the AP 50 person panel decides the individual awards. Maybe customer involvement gives it more credence then a faceless panel of 'experts' to the player's union? I don't pay attention to either anymore personally, just jaded from the NFL's marketing bs and not winning for so long.
  18. I don't see any. Pro bowls can gets a different 5th year option amount in the new CBA, but not as an alternative. Link 3. First rounders selected to the Pro Bowl on the original ballot in any of their first three seasons will receive a fifth-year salary equal to the transition tag of the player’s fourth year. 4. First rounders selected to the Pro Bowl on the original ballot in more than one of their first three seasons will receive a fifth-year salary equal to the franchise tag of the player’s fourth year. So no, it has no value other than recognition. Given that Pickett is the favorite to win this year odds wise (Link) I would raise the question if it has any value beyond a participation trophy at this point. Edit: some reason that site just updated and Pickett is now 7th in odds.
  19. He can throw a football so even if he bust he is 100% better than Clausen who had trouble throwing an NCAA ball lol.
