  1. He took over a 2-15 team and didn't bring in any meaningful competition in the biggest area of failure last year on the roster (OG being a close 2nd) at the most important area of the roster while trying to reinforce it (except the draft which isn't showing 1 starter yet as far as my checked out butt can see (such a low bar)). It's not a rebuild, it is a retool which is a retry of the last build with adjustments. If it doesn't work it's largely on him as GM and at least he is getting in front of it. He also took the job and was already here so no discount on being blindsided by it all because he had an entire offseason to hedge his bets. It's the NFL and with all the parody you can't not talk expectations because it's set up to give the bottom dummies a chance to turn it around. If Houston can do it after being not good with Watson (52.8 win % with Watson starting vs 58% in one season with Stroud as a rookie) then regardless of the situation they need to show improvement or the expectations won't be met. Hedge your bets how you wish but the NFL isn't going to be forgiving for long. I am so ready to get this over. Let's get to week 6 and cut the BS. Prove it time is almost here. Every team has to justify home game prices so do it or get booed, and prices are at a FU level and rising. None of this is rocket science and yet it's built up that way too often. Show some fight organizations can get behind or it's just hope to huff on before you choke on disappointment.
  2. Solid play and overpayed in 2019. He is forgettable, like TD's shadow that never became what was hyped. Played out of position some and played on some really bad teams / poorly coached Ds. 9 years of play: 3 ints, 4 FF, 4 FR, 717 tackles (79.6 year avg) and 12 sacks. Late 1st guy? Meh ok. Solid and forgettable.
  3. Never pay a QB a 2nd contract that can't make a SB run with less around him IMO. Tua isn't worth half that contract and they weren't contenders last year with him on the end of his rookie deal. Miami was written off before the playoffs even began.
  4. It's going to be fun watching him have to do more with less as the years go by in that contract, with a 63.4 cap hit in year 3 is my guess when it turns on him. That's why they let Hunt walk and signed their guys to 1 year deals at both OG spots.
  5. https://www.miamidolphins.com/news/tagovailoa-contract-extension#:~:text=The Miami Dolphins have signed, fifth season with the Dolphins. $53.1 a year average and he can't win against a good team on a stacked team.
  6. Tua should be first. Especially after that extension. Murray should be higher. Tua, Murray and then Watson.
  7. True but I meant specifically in the new systems. That is where they are supposed to get comfortable enough with in the preseason that they don't look like a deer in headlights game 1.
  8. Should have just played him some in the 1st game and gone from there. If he can't build confidence against backups in the 3rd preseason game then they should just go sign someone not half retired or below PS quality because that would be embarrassing AF to go into the year with a QB that can't look decent against the bottom of the Bills roster.
  9. Clown show. Just flip the HC experience and try the same fail all over again.
  10. I'm not convinced he is willing to take the injury prone discount. Top 5 CB but at 45% of the price because that's his availability sounds like a fan thing and not a player thing to me. CMC was ran into the ground by inept coaching and team management desperation so him going to SF was a perfect situation for him and he still gets banged up there with great coaching. Horn has only played 8 straight games 1 time and the next longest streak was 5 games. I do wonder if the team has any idea what he wants in a 2nd contract because that should be huge in deciding this kind of potential move.
  11. A player not yet injured has to be worth more than a player dealing with an injury even if they have the history. Seems like the discount would increase in that situation unless he was healthy and I wouldn't take that bet.
  12. You have to trade him now because he will be banged up by week 9. It's Horn so he is getting injured by week 6.
  13. He is way overvalued here. His ability is high and his availability is low. That is a player they should sell. I doubt he ever has a full year of play sadly. Unlike CMC his position needs to be on the field and not rotated. Unfortunately they can't draft for poo so what is really the point? They should but then they will just waste anything they get as usual.
  14. He has already played 16 so 6 should be plenty on that end. It's more about everyone else else including the coaches. There is plenty to be concerned about at this time.
  15. Seems it is on a crash course for that now. Could you imagine the team trotting Clausen back out for a year 2 vs brining in Cam? Yikes
  16. Them being OK with failures makes me hope they are gone next year. It's unforgivable. Pederson won a SB, got caught tanking and was out of the league for 2 years (?). I'm not sure he gets another shot without that SB win on his resume, something no one has here.
  17. Which is how they ended up with a too old backup and a #3 who isn't a solid #4. It literally already blew up in their faces this preseason and they are already getting the unfavorable outcome due to the blowback that created for the guys they are trying to evaluate with a waste of space at QB, even by the 90 man roster standards, for 3 preseason games. I think people get what your saying while also saying it is a terrible approach that deserves the criticism it's getting. If they were expecting a pass I think that already went out the window so that 1st home game could be a surprise for them from the home crowd.
  18. A bad team not trying to win is an issue. The entire master plan of losing on purpose turning into winning on purpose is deeply flawed around here. I agree they should be trying to be competitive regardless but then starting out game 1 from a cold start is contradicting that IMO. Also if they knew they weren't going to the playoffs this year then why didn't they adjust the personnel to be more competitive and less like a tank job some here are hoping for? I think it's fair to question the entire thing because it sure looks like a bad strategy from people way to comfortable not trying to win now which is not a good sign from any angle in my eyes.
  19. It's not really about football entertainment anymore for me but just watching a complete trainwreck. In that way they are doing fantastic. Keep pounded
  20. Over drafting a kid that far and then making him switch positions was brutal. I hated the entire idea but i felt for the kid because it was wrong on every level but the pay. 2010 was wild and freaking Pickle in the same draft. I can't believe Hurney still works in the NFL.
  21. I always thought Ickey had a solid shot to make the leap but last year he didn't show up ready to take a much needed step in that direction which was really demoralizing to watch. No idea if he can keep it up but he seems in a better place then coming into last year. Bryce is currently in a place where he should be shinning with no contact, no olinemen in his face and no pressure. Great, he is showing up where it should be easiest for him. The problem is that when he does face those 3 things that is where his issues surface and all of that is what a game day experience will entail. If they don't play him against the Jets then I wouldn't get my hopes up because that is where he has to prove himself so hiding him is a giant red flag. Nothing surprising so far for me. And the Jets are still a dumpster fire with the second lowest win total next to the Panthers in the last 5 years for a little context, 1st in the last 6 years. The Panthers couldn't have picked a worst measuring stick of 'success' other than themselves in these practices but it is fitting.
  22. Whoever wins the NFC south isn't likely to do much in the playoffs. None of the teams are contenders. Taking the NFC south crown isn't much of an accomplishment at this point.
  23. So what happens when Horn goes down again? Just because they picked up his 5th year option doesn't change the fact he has been available under 50% of the time. This team could need 2 before Jackson is ready.
