This hire confirms a lot of those types of things. No way to spin this but he is a yes man on team Tepper. Nothing changes but the names.
-
We do know just like we knew about Frank, Fritters and Rhule. We all knew and we either pretended to not know or just called it what it was. He worked here last year so we know more than the other 3 and it's not good. Tepper kept a great ex-player that is the new trainwreck. Nothing changes and the only real question left is can it still get worse because that is the trend.
-
Hard fail and a sign of more sad times to come. Tepper wants his yes man and thinks he can hide behind a former player. Holy fug this team will never have decent player evaluation skills at this rate.

IMO it was more fun when half the day was re-runs of classic SC vs the crap they put on there now. PTI was the first garbage hot-take show I can remember and now that is all I have seen them do for little bit I have caught since I walked away. I always thought the scremo (lol) crap helped them cut the re-runs and like you said SC's was killed off leaving just the scum to fill the void. Hell even when they host a game it's trash it's that bad.
-
Maybe the real problem is that you still watch ESPN and not Allen or anything anyone really thinks about him that isn't from hot take for central? Allen's work stands by itself. He is a good QB. ESPN is and has been trash so if they are comparing him to Payton/Manning then not watching that garbage might be the answer you really need?

I agree with that. Ohh our HC will be worse than Mayo, that seems like a lock. Mayo will still head the 3rd best team in that division and leaning on Mac will keep them in 3rd place. The Panthers are more in the Jets position, a hard 4th no matter all the loud and expensive moves they make. Yeah I lumped them all together because most can't take that step away from being deffensive guy over HC. Rivera and Fox both made it to a SB but couldn't get over the hump or return as HC. A defensive HC that can step away from the mentality and become more offensive in their tendancies is rare, incredibly rare. BB did it for a bit but he reverted in his last years with Brady. I think you nailed why it happens. Mac is great, blah blah blah, winning D, blah blah blah, super bowl lol. That is a coach who will get fired for that exact reason, just like they will here when it becomes an imposible goal to reach. Can't make a superstar out of a dud but owners arw still looking to a Brady to save them regardless if that was an exceptional exception. Hell Purdy just rolled the clock back on another one popping out 10 years from now.

If he is betting that hard on Mac already then it's a firm shouldn't. There is no mystery with Mac, he isn't it.

The Last 3 Drafts We Had 22 Total Selections...
Waldo replied to Hoenheim's topic in Carolina Panthers
Meh, BC isn't in that first group. He is a backup that gets unjured too often. So just Tremble and Hubbard. I don't know what has been worse between the player evaluations and the team building. There is no cohesive meshing on the team building side with their personnel and the player evaluations have been trash. That explains how you end up with a bust that is Young as the rotten cherry on top. Keeping anyone from last year is a hard fail. -
QB Quandary: 2024 Draft, FA Stopgap, or Stand Pat?
Waldo replied to rayzor's topic in Carolina Panthers
Free agent. A drafted guy is ok but just get a younger Dalton and get through the 2024 season. Anyone saying just play Young is basically saying don't try and win. Play him a couple of games? Sure for a few but it won'ttake many to confirm what this year already showed, it's obvious what he is and doing that for another 16 games is as bad as publicly tanking regardless of draft outcome. Get a free agent and be ready to play them into a top 10 pick. This team is gutted, poorly strung together mess. Looking at some of their GM options that may not change. -
There are no guarantees it works but I would bet on it working if they hired a good offensive minded HC vs not working. Maybe not long term but a SB in the first 2 years with Allen. McD isn't winning agaisnt Reid in Buffalo so he isn't winning a SB there unless Reid drops dead. If they want to win a SB, and wow they are close and well built, the weakest link is their HC's current ceiling. They keep trying the same way and failing the same way. Great job to get that far but it's obviously their limit under him.

How to put yourself in a position to get fired without playing a game yet. If he thinks Mac is his answer then he is already done as a HC. And I liked Mayo but he is proving why good defensive guys shouldn't be HCs.

100% fail. Top 5 worst NFL trades ever. All of it is fail, from the player picked to the value of the picks traded. Comically bad trade value mixed with absurd player evaluation incompetence. Who trades their future to become a worst team and end up with so little tallent? The Panthers.

So What Are We Doing About the Offensive Line During This Offseason?
Waldo replied to Hoenheim's topic in Carolina Panthers
BC is a backup, who has also been on IR all year. Going in to next season with a hole at LT like they had LG this year helps nothing. Draft a LT and C/OG. Trade Moton, his contract is ready for an extension and it's time to rebuild the mess of an oline. Look for short term free agents at RG, C and OT. Ickey to LG or RT, there is talent there but he needs a new home on the line. Trade/cut Bozeman and cut Corbett and fire the idiot that structured that contract. -
Morgan taking that kind of job would make me lose all respect for him. Dude was working with the Bills and could have kept building his skills but he came here and wants to stay? That's on him.
