Great troll, Peter King -
Might demand too much money, gives you a good red zone threat but doesn't do much after the catch. OJ Howard is coming off injury and might get cut by TB to save 6 mil, might be worth the reclamation project look on a one year deal. TE is low on my priority list but don't mind having a legit guy there like Cook.

Kiper Mock 2.0: Mac Jones to Panthers at #8.

This mock is better https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/news/2021-nfl-mock-draft-quarterbacks-taken-with-first-four-picks-patriots-grab-mac-jones-panthers-trade-up/ -
They're bad at making moves and if they trade Watson the criticism likely will be they didn't get enough for him, it fits the pattern
-
The Texans know this isn't realistic, they're just blustering trying to play hardball with Watson and setting the trade bar high to cover their asses and make sure they don't lose leverage. They haven't shown anything that says they can get good compensation for their players, they let em all walk or traded them for nothing

I'm not gonna date you no matter how much you quote me, Elmer fudd
-
Yeah same, I'm just telling how I'd talk myself into it. Good discussion, outside people talking poo notwithstanding
-
Me and Nanuq were having a good discussion, this guy is just talking poo to make himself feel good

Eat a dick and quit being obsessed with me, infant

Message boards are for debate and pretending you're smart about football, I'm doing what Zod wants, participating
-
Quit insulting people on a message board bc you need an outlet to be aggressive without beating your wife, dipshit

Yeah those are reportedly what it will cost to get him but their negotiating history says they won't get fsir returns for Watson and their coaching hire is an even bigger sign that they haven't learned anything. That's also why Deshaun is worth calling about.
-
We have a strong core minus experience and a QB and depth. Which I already explained can be acquired in the next two years. This is our situation, which is clearly unique bc we did something no other tram has done and spent and entire draft draft find some defensive starters, and that bore fruit btw. Trading for Deshaun will not derail it esp since we're dealing with the same org that traded away the leagues best WR for peanuts lol so we might be able to make them fug up and trade their best for peanuts again
-
There's no reason to think David Tepper can't out finesse Cal fuggin McNair in negotiations that dude is a clown lol
-
In closing, if the Panthers can find a way to land Watson without losing DJ, CMC, Chinn and Spider Burns and the cost is mainly first round picks, they will be able to sign free agents to offset the losses (Tepper has made it clear he wants to win now)and since they scouted the senior bowl they'll be able to draft the best offensive lineman from it and build depth in the draft they could be a playoff team sooner than we think. Teams go from worst to first every year, we've done it plenty of times with worse coaching, and a qb like Watson makes that much difference with the type of skill talent on deck here (four thousand yard players with a marginal QB like Teddy). All of whom are young and still getting better. Dare to dream, this is just sports. That being said Watson is the only guy worth trading that price for bc of his age and talent. The draft is the way to go otherwise.
-
Slippery slope fallacy man
-
I also explained why drafted first round picks isn't better the farm, considering the bulk of the farm will still be here. We aren't trading the entire draft AND our best players for Watson, at most it'll likely be three firsts and two players. That can be replaced and supplemented by Teppers wallet and good drafting which our current regime seems to be doing.
-
And even Tom Brady got tired of taking less to improve the team and forced his way to TB. Plus Mahomes is gonna get there again and again and he's gotten paid. He made the superbowl the first year of his extension and the chiefs also found a way to retain their best players. It can be done, we have the talent ALREADY to support Deshaun, esp on offense. I'm not sure why you're so scared to spend someone else's money
-
Well yeah. But Deshaun is the one dude worth taking a risk on trading first round picks on bc of his unique situation, age, and talent. Plus he's a marketing dream in Charlotte so Tepper would pay for him. He can afford it and we draft well enough to risk three firsts and a player if that's what it takes. Hurney ain't here anymore.
-
But to be clear, I don't want Wilson, I want Deshaun if we're trading for someone, and Lance or Fields if we draft someone. Trading up to 3 to secure either is worth doing.
-
They lost five hall of famers and couldn't replace them bc they drafted poorly and couldn't replicate the drafting (Russ the LOB drafted outside of first round except Thomas) and good FA signings (Lynch) that got them there in the first place. Thats not due to the contract.
